Valentine, Joe (Joey)
Sadly, on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, Emily, Amanda, and Kim have lost their Dad and Baby Carter (Papa’s “Peek-a-Boo”) has lost his Grandpa in his struggle to beat the odds. He leaves to mourn a large family including his Mom, Patricia of Gatineau. He is predeceased by his father Robert and brothers Paul and Jefferey. He is survived by his former wife and friend Brenda (Brian), and by his siblings Nancy, Michael, Linda, Kathy, Judy, Patti, Peter, David, Phillip, Patrick, Marianne, and all of their spouses, and their families. Thank you to Brendan Human and Mike James for their emotional support and friendship with their Dad. Joe was a self educated man by being an avid reader. He was a very gifted artist and had many creative talents. The girls have special memories of their tooth fairy (their Dad) being interactive by the correspondence left under their pillows in between losing teeth. He had a few loyal friends but sadly many fair weather friends. He loved helping people and was recognized by the city for his volunteer work. He was known by most for his humour and always singing a tune even at the worst of times. Those he loved, he loved unconditionally and could see good qualities in every person he met. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of the Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline) on Friday from 6-8pm. His daughters invite you to share in their memories of Joe’s life and the sorrow of his death, in the chapel on Saturday at 1 pm. Cremation to follow. Donations can be made in Joe’s memory to those in need. Thank you to Dr. Archambault of the ICU at the Civic Hospital and his nurse Jennifer for her compassion and understanding given to Emily and Amanda at this difficult time.
