Peacefully in hospital, Carleton Place, Ontario on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at age 66. Ronald Claude Dicaire, beloved husband of Judith Maisonneuve. Loving father of Cynthia and Laura and foster daughter Gail. Cherished Poppy of Tyler and Alex. Dear brother of Leonard, Les, and Joan. Predeceased by his brother Dennis. In keeping with Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations to the Parkinson’s Society or Lewy body dementia research would be appreciated. Giroux, Mary Eileen
Peacefully at the Hospice at May Court, after a brave battle with cancer, on Monday, January 22, 2007, in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Giroux. Dear mother of Cheryl and Paul (Cindy). Loving grandmother of Michelle, Heather and Scott. She will be sadly missed for her warmth, wit and humour by all her friends. Peacefully at the Almonte General Hospital after a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer, on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in his 65th year. Beloved and devoted husband of Sandy (Cable). Cherished father of Kelly (Nino), Patrick (Sue) and Cheryl (Pete). Loving Poppa of Crystal, Shyla, Kayla, Peter, Joey, Chelsea, Angelina and Ashley. Loved brother of Edgar (Ann), Raymond (Jane), Edmond (Huguette), Guy (Theresa), Pierrette (André) and Tony and step-brother of Claire (the late Marcel). Also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Henri Cadieux and Olina Lamoureux and his sisters Julie (late Jack), Rita and brothers Dennis, Jean Roch and Robert. Peacefully at the Almonte Country Haven, Madella Geraldine Fetherstonhaugh Armstrong (nee Tripp). Beloved wife of the late George Armstrong. Loving mother of Jim (Barbara) of Carp and grandmother of Derrek (Janelle) of Glen Cairn. Predeceased by her sister Phyllis Anderson and brothers Theodore and Everett Tripp. Fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law; Ruby Armstrong of Kinburn, and Mary Lou Armstrong of Beloit, WI, her foster brother Jim Rutherford (Laura) and all her nieces and nephews. Cherished brother of Vera Hawkins of Carleton Place and brother-in-law of Patricia Crawford. Predeceased by his brother Earl Crawford and sisters Laura Mahoney and Alice Teske. Chadwick, Albert Hugh “Al” Peacefully at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband for 52 years of Elaine (née Doyle). Loving father of Steve (and his wife Janet), John (and his wife Silvana Marroncelli), Jennifer (and her husband Fran Kreer), and Craig. Proud grandpa of Emma and Katherine Chadwick; Taylor and Hayley Chadwick. He will also be greatly missed by the Doyle family members. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore Dr. and Baseline Rd.) on Tuesday 7 – 9 pm and Wednesday from 10 am until time of service. Scott (nee Jomphe), Flora Marie
1921-2007
Flora passed into her Cinquième Saison gracefully on Monday January 29th at the Elisabeth Bruyère Health Centre in Ottawa, joining her beloved husband Russell and infant daughter Linda. Flora was the last surviving child of the 11 children of Ludger Jomphe & Louise Cormier of Havre-aux-Maisons, Iles de la Madeleine. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Lorraine & son-in-law Harris Kirby, and grandchildren Nathan and Hannah. Born December 10, 1921 Flora left home as a young teen to work in Antigonish, NS and then moved to Montreal where she met the love of her life, Russell. married after the war, in 1946, Flora lived in Toronto, Ottawa and in the U.K. Flora will be remembered for her joie de vivre by everyone who knew her and for many volunteer activities over the years. As the wife of a diplomat in Ottawa and London, Flora was a generous and accomplished hostess – a talent she continued to use in retirement in Toronto. Flora was always a tireless worker on behalf of the Liberal party, both federally and provincially, and was a particular supporter of women in politics. Heartfelt thanks to the medical and nursing staff of Emergency and B5 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit at the Elisabeth Bruyère. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd. (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.), Nepean on Monday, February 5th from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, 1606 Fisher Avenue, Ottawa on Tuesday February 6th at 2 p.m. with the graveside service at Pinecrest cemetery , Ottawa. Hodgins, Cheslyn
(March 19, 1949 – February 1, 2007)
Chesyln passed away on February 1, 2007 at the Maison Mathieu-Froment-Savoie (MMFS) in Aylmer with her family at her side. Chechie, after a wonderful life of giving everything she had for her family, joined her father Garnet Hodgins, her mother Ruby Hodgins (nee Richardson) and her sister Bernice Hodgins. She leaves behind her cherished and devoted sister Carol Ann (Marcel Routhier) who tirelessly and bravely supported her throughout her illness and the final stages of her life. Her wisdom, wit and moral certitude helped to shape the lives of her nieces and nephews whom she cared for as her own; Barrie Hobbs (Beatrice Teske), Carla Hobbs (Vijay Mehta), Mike and Roxanne Mainville. She will also be greatly missed by her two great-nieces; Leah and Amy Mehta, and her great-nephew Sam Hobbs. Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Findlay and the staff of the CLSC, as well as all the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at the MMFS. At Cheslyn’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Shawville United Church, Sunday February 4th at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment to follow at the Yarm cemetery. For those wishing, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the MMFS or the Canadian Cancer Society.

In hospital, on Thursday February 1, 2007, after a 2 year battle with cancer. Loving wife of Tom Savell. Loving sister of Norma and Andrew. Cherished aunt of Cody, Ashley, Danny, Bradley, Brittany and the entire Savell family. A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 470 Roosevelt Avenue, on Tuesday February 6, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the church. Suddenly after a brief illness on Thursday, February 1, 2007, age 55 years. Beloved wife of the late Bob Papp (2001). Loving daughter of Ruth Vincent-Nowe (the late Joe Nowe) and the late Bud Vincent. Daughter-in-law of Betty Papp and the late Bill Papp. She will also be fondly remembered by her sister Wendy Dunlop (Fraser) and brother Bill Vincent (Ruth); brothers-in-law Joe Papp (Maryanne), Bill Papp (Suzanne); step sisters, Heather Joy Brinkman (Frans), Joanne Smees (John), Catherine Huffman and many nieces and nephews, as well as special friends, Jean Mowat, Stephen Welch and Ted and Mary Heaven. Susan will be missed by Bo and Flirt, her constant companions. Friends may call at the Rideau Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 1610 Roger Stevens Dr. Kars (East of Hwy 416) on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment Rideauvale cemetery in the spring. On Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at rest in her 95th year, Norah Bishop, beloved wife of the late Lt. Col. Horace W. Bishop. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Bill Bishop and the late Rachelle and David and Marcia Bishop. She will be missed by grandchildren Julie-Anne, Christopher and Jessica; and Jason and Graham Bishop. Much loved sister of Frank Herring of Ottawa, and the late Nick Cole of Detroit; the late Art Cole of Buffalo and Naples; the late John Cole, Norman Cole and Charlie Cole, all of Ottawa; and the late Richard Herring and Bud Herring, both of Ottawa. passed away peacefully at home after a battle with cancer. Bill was the devoted husband of Dolores (nee Seed) for 55 years. Proud father of Debra (Don) and Dean (Gay). Loving grandpa of Kevin and Brendan. Survived by sister Grace (Earl) and brother Wesley (Elsie) Our gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Ian Oliver and staff as well as the care team who helped see us through the last few days of his life.
