After a brave battle with cancer on Thursday, January 18, 2007. Pearl Patterson beloved wife of the late Donald James Patterson. Loving mother of Marilyn Fisher. Dear grandmother of Richard (Ginny). Survived by her brothers Gerald, Henry and Robert and by sisters Norma, Velma, and Jean. Predeceased by brother Emile and sisters Florence and Mildred. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of the Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Rd (at Roosevelt Ave) on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 2 pm. Interment in the spring at Bells Corners Union cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Peacefully in hospital on Wednesday, January 17, 2007, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of Hubert Chenier. Predeceased by her brother Keith Douglas. Reilly, Norah Craig
Reilly, Norah Craig (nee Diamond) Peacefully on Monday January 15, 2007 at the age of 90. Beloved wife for 66 years of Mervyn Patrick Reilly. Dear mother of Phil (Carole) of Ottawa and Don (Melanie) of Banff. Loving grandmother of Shannon (Brad Rosnak) of Oshawa and Ian Reilly of Fort McMurray AB. Sister of Phil Diamond of Halifax. Predeceased by sisters Kathleen McMillan, Eileen Anderson and by her brother Bertie Diamond. Norah was loved by her extended family, which will miss her dearly. She was a longtime member of the United Church in Lachutte, Brwonsburg, Napanee, Montreal and Perth. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, (between Bayshore Dr. and Baseline Rd.), on Monday January 22 from 1 pm. until 2 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm in the Chapel. Spring inurnment at Diamond View cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the CNIB would be appreciated.

SINGHAL, Ish Kumar Suddenly on Monday, January 15, 2007, at his home at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Alene (nee Lewis). Loving father of Sheila (Terrence Scammell), Roy, Neena and David. He will also be sadly missed by his chosen daughter Veena (Cliff Halliwell). He touched many lives through his long career with the Canadian government and his extensive volunteer work. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore Dr. and Baseline Rd.), on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be on Saturday in the Chapel at 1 pm. February 17, 1927 – January 15, 2007
Peacefully at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital with his family by his side. Loving husband of Joyce for 56 years, father of Valerie (Carl Vajda) and Laurie (Stephen Morling). Predeceased by his daugher Kristie. Best Grandpa of Charlene, Kristie and Matthew. Beloved brother of Norma Buchanan, Rosemary Hutchins and Ford Scott and his wife Marlene. Also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Gord was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces (32 years), a member of the 1946 Winnipeg Monarchs, Memorial Cup Champions, and a member of the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. He was Past President of the OVGA, long time member of Cedarhill Country Club and the City View Curling Club. He founded the Ottawa Valley Junior Intersectional Golf program in 1985. A long time coach and referee in Nepean and Laval, PQ minor hockey programs. Friends and family may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Road), Nepean on Thursday, January 18, 2007, from 1 to 3pm and from 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be held at Bells Corners United Church, 3955 Richmond Road, Nepean on Friday at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Queensway-Carleton Hospital Association would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the Emergency Room staff and 3rd Floor Surgery staff for all their kindness – a special thanks to Vicki.

Harris, Donald Victor David
At his residence in Osgoode after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Eileen. Loving father of Susan Hodgins and Christine Byrne (Phil). Special “Papa” to Jennifer, Jessica (Andrew) and Bradley Harris, Alex and Christopher Byrne, all of Osgoode. Survived by his sister Jeannette Wagner and brother Richard (Joyce) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents George Harris and Mary Bright and 5 brothers. Don spent 25 years in the Royal Canadian Navy and 10 years with C.I.D.A., retiring in 1986. He was a proud Life member of the Royal Canadian Legion. A special thank you to Carefor nurses, especially Linda Tolstoy, Jennifer Nichols, PSW. Also thank you to Dr’s Brenda and Terry Brennan. Friends may call at the Rideau Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 1610 Roger Stevens Dr., Kars (East of Hwy 416) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 2 pm. followed by a reception at St. James United Church, Osgoode. WILLIAMS, Rachel Muthumani Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Solomon Pillai, Madras, India. Born on March 30, 1920, she was welcomed into her eternal home by our Savior Lord Jesus on Monday January 15th, 2007. Dearly beloved wife of the late George Williams. Loving mother of Chandini Sylvia (Enoch Sunder-Raj), Suhasini (Stephen Kumar), Raghini (Dev Suresh) and Kala (Edwin Pragasam). Greatly cherished grandmother of Rashmi (Greg) Chandru Vikram, Anand (Vanji), Preetham (Premi), David, Anita (Anesthan), Ashok, Arun (Selene). Much loved great-grandmother of Anika, Serena, Sadielynn and Calvin. Dear sister of the late Kamala Williams and the late Robert Solomon. She will be fondly remembered by her relatives and friends. Peacefully at Almonte Country Haven on Tuesday 16, 2007 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Rollins). Dear father of Brian (Anne), Barbara Booth (Robert), Don and David (Kathryn). Loving grandfather of 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Brother of Jean Haley. Predeceased by sister Lila Crawford and brothers James, Melville, Arthur, Norman and Raymond. passed away after a short illness on Wednesday January 17th 2007 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Johanna (Yoki). Proud father of Jan (Deane Cornell), Antoinette (Tom Lee), Peter (Marion) and Judy Cameron (Jamie). Cherished grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 3. Survived by his sister Marietje de Boer of Australia. Blackler, Robert Norman "Bob"
Suddenly on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the age of 61 years. Best friend and loving spouse of Pauline Claydon. Proud father of William, Robert and Nadine. Brother of Jim (Linda), Michael and Gina (Peter). Son of the late Bea Smelsky and Robert S. Blackler. Dear in-law to Bridget, John, Mike, Sandy, Greg, and Manuelita. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Over his life, Bob had many interests. His first love was music and many would know him as a founding member of the Ottawa Band – Heavens Radio. He also spent many years as a master carpenter and mason, and most recently he applied his broad range of skills to the airport industry with Tradewind Scientific. He will be remembered by many and missed by all. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Celebration of Bob’s Life at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore Dr. and Baseline Rd.) on Sunday from 12 noon until time of service. Loving mother of Atour Golan (Jarmen), Atorina Babaea (Stepan), Ashour Golan (Betty), Carolina Verge (Jeff) and Carlos Golan. Cherished grandmother of Ramika, Melika, Biran, Brenda, Alvin and David Samuel. Pat passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 18, 2007 in Ottawa. Beloved wife and co-bon vivant of Peter Hume. Loving mother of Peter (Ann) and Kathryn Lefler (Rob). Devoted Grammie to Helen. Born May 16, 1932 in Sudbury as Patricia Hawke she came to Ottawa in 1964. A love of children led her to teaching and she retired from the Ottawa School Board in 1989 as a kindergarten teacher at Hawthorne Public School. In 1999 she was blessed as Helen, daughter of Peter and Ann, came to the family. Pat loved travelling, reading, and the family dog Thunder. Pat is survived by her sister Peggy Chamberlain. She will be greatly missed by family and friends in White River and North Bay, where she spent many summers as a young woman. She will also be missed by her many winter friends in Florida.
