Clouston, George Chesley Roy
passed away Saturday evening, January 1, 2011 in Carleton Place, Ontario after a heroic battle with prostate cancer. George was born April 27, 1926 in Montréal, QC., to Maud and A. Roy Clouston. George is predeceased by his elder brother Ross Clouston (Brenda Clouston) and his parents. He is survived by his beloved best friend, Marjorie Garrett, sister Joan Hollingsworth (Bert Hollingsworth) of Montreal, QC, children Jennifer Clouston (Michel Cutrone), of Sainte Therese, QC, John Clouston (Emma Salkeld) of Alfred, ON, Laura Randolph (Dean Wilson) of Ottawa, ON, his children’s mother, Barbara Keddy Clouston, and five grandchildren: Natasha, Geneviève, Patrick, Erika and Sarah, as well as five great grandchildren: Gregory, Stella, Gabriel, Èva and Sofia. As a young man George was an enthusiastic volunteer and member of the YMCA and Camp Kanawana while he attended West Hill High School. He graduated from McGill University in 1947 with a Commerce degree specializing in his greatest pleasure, accounting. While attending university he worked full-time as an accountant at A. Roy Clouston Ltd. George’s creativity, energy and great intellect steered the private small Quebec firm into one of the finest and largest food brokerage firms in the world. Clouston Foods Ltd. was an international business with offices in North America and Europe. George co-founded LaSalle Foods Ltd., Bluewater Seafoods, Mirabel Brand Shellfish, and founded Atlantic Queen Seafoods Ltd. He was integral in the creation and market development for the Atlantic Snow Crab. When he retired in 1978 Clouston Foods Ltd. was the largest seafood Brokerage Company in Canada.. George was an international resident having lived in Montreal, QC, Vankleek Hill ON, London, England, Naples, Florida, Shawville, QC, L’Orignal, ON and most recently Carleton Place, ON. As a sailing enthusiast he was a long-time member of the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club where he served two terms as Commodore. He was an active hobby farmer in his retirement years and always appreciated fine books. Visitation will be held at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road (at Roosevelt) on Wednesday, January 5th from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial service will take place in the chapel on Thursday, January 6th at 10a.m .The Clouston Family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to Dr. Fullerton and the entire staff at Carleton Place Hospital. Their gentle, compassionate care was extraordinarily comforting to George and his family. Tubman, George
Peacefully on Friday, December 31, 2011 at the age of 86 years, a long time resident of Carleton Lodge. Son of the late Roy Tubman and Jessie Bradley. He is lovingly remembered by his sister Audrey and brother Howard (Shirley), nephews Philip, David, Roy and Bill, and also nieces Kathleen, Sara and Janet. Predeceased by sister Isabel and brother Tom. The family would like to extend special thanks to Carleton Lodge staff and volunteers for all the compassion and support provided over many years. A burial of ashes will take place in the spring at Munster Union cemetery.

Wong, Doreen (Ngar Siu)
passed away peacefully in her sleep, with her family by her side on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the age of 69. She fought a courageous battle with cancer and also survived a serious stroke ten years earlier. She was the beloved wife of Wayner Wong, loving and caring mother of William, Wendy, Wanda, Winny Davidson (Tony) and May, and loving and adoring grandmother of Shane and Keira Davidson. Predeceased by her mother Chau Yuet Ma, father Chung King, and sister Sui Hung. Cherished sister of Ngar Chue, Sam Chow and Sum Cheung. She will be greatly missed by her family, relatives, staff members and countless friends. Doreen and Wayner founded Wong’s Palace Restaurant in Ottawa in 1979. She successfully owned and operated the family business with her husband, son and daughters. Special thanks to the medical professionals who cared for Doreen at the time of her stroke and throughout her battle with cancer.
