Kathleen (Katie) Brown - 02/12/2004

Suddenly on Tuesday, February 10, 2004. She celebrated her 81st birthday on Sunday, February 8th. Beloved wife of the late MacBrown. Mother to Walter and Fred (Evelyn Algar) and devoded grandmother of Dylan and Tamara. Survived by her sister Angie Dawson, brother-in-law Dick Morton and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed. Katie, born in the Bruce Peninsula in 1923 grew up in Thunder Bay, taught school in Mar and Toronto. She lived in Toronto, where she raised a family and moved to Ottawa in 1987. A Memorial Service will be held at First Unitarian Church, 30 Cleary Avenue, Ottawa on Friday, February 20th at 3pm. A reception will follow. In memoriam donations to the Arthritis Society, 2269 Riverside Dr. Unit 20, Ottawa ON K1H 8K2 would be greatly appreciated.

Peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at the age of 82 years. Daughter of the late Dr. D.A. and Mrs. Laura Carmichael. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. Private arrangements at her request. For those wishing donations to a charity of ones choice would be appreciated.

passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at the age 45. Beloved husband of Linda Mary (Rogers), loving father of Nolin and Nicoh and cherished son of Jean Paul and Jeanne. Dear brother of Jean, Michele (Crampton) and Paul. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway,on Friday, February 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Annunciation of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, 2414 Ogilvie Road on Tuesday, February 10. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Aunt of Sarah, Jason, and Timothy. Niece of Edith and Doug Sparks of Moncton, N.B. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Sunday February 8 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Monday February 9 from 1 p.m. until service time in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Reception to follow. Special thanks to the caring staff of V.O.N. and Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre for their care and compassion.

Veteran - RAF-WWII Peacefully in hospital on Friday, February 6th, 2004, aged 85 years. Beloved husband of Gwen and dear father of Bruce (Bonnie) of B.C. He is also survived by a sister Helen Woolley of Langley, B.C. No service by request. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse,Playfair & McGarry. On Thursday, January 22, 2004 in her 48th year our beloved Cathy, Bluebird Woman was called to the spirit world. She was the beloved mother of Justin Compton and very proud grandmother of Nicolas and Kiana Fontaine and their mother Deena. She was cherished by many friends and family. She will be greatly missed by her brothers Jim Compton and Francois Arsenault, sisters Irene Compton and Josephine Morrisseau, Justin's father Louis Bonham, niece and family Janine, Tyler, Doreen, Ocean Compton and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Keeseekoose Reserve, Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island. To welcome her to the spirit world is her mom and dad Jim and Alice Compton, sisters Doreen Compton and MaryAnn Morrisseau and brother Gordon Wasteste. A Celebration of Cathy's life will take place at the Odawa Native Friendship Centre, 12 Stirling Avenue, Ottawa, on February 7, 2004 at 12noon. All friends and community members are welcome. Traditional blanket dance will take place to assist the family with funeral costs. Interment in Winninpeg.

(War Bride from U.K) Suddenly yet Peacefully at the Montfort Hospital on February 2, 2004 in her 76th year. Beloved wife and cherished friend of Eli Countway. Dear and loving mother of Mark(Barbie). Devoted "Nanny" of Blair and Tristan. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Sunday, February 8th from 6-9pm Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, February 9, 2004 at 1:30pm Interment Notre-Dame cemetery. For those who wish donaitons to the Canadaian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

WWII Veteran 1940-1945 Peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus on Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at the age of 83. Beloved husband of the late R jeanne Lina Laplante. Loving father of Suzanne, Ronald (Beverley Babiuk), Paul (Suzanne Pr vost) and Carole (Daniel Descarie). Cherished grandfather of seven grandchildren; Mark, Sophie, Alexandra, Rebecca, Nicholas, Caroline and St phanie. Lovingly remembered by his many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Monday, February 9, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at Saint-Gabriel Roman Catholic Church, 55 Appleford Road, Ottawa on Tuesday, February 10 at 11am. Cremation to follow. Private burial in the Military Section at Beechwood cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

passed away at Extendicare Medex on February 5, 2004 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late James. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Lois Hoffman and son Barrie (Earlene). Sister of Phyllis Nothnagal (the late Sam), Rose Sullivan (the late Harold), Merle Glen (Manly), Westley Hyndman (Marion), the late Earl Hyndman (Mary), the late June Dorning, the late Lillian Gibeau, the late Doris O'Rourke and also sister-in-law of Elaine Dickson(the late Harris). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse,Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Sunday, February 8 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday February 9, 2004 at 11am. Reception to follow. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
