Vandesande – Anita Suddenly in hospital on Thursday April 10, 2008 in her 70th year. Beloved wife of Peter Vandesande. Loving mother of Diana Stewart (Jim) and Peter (Kim) of South Mountain. Dear grandmother of Gregg, Alex, Taylor, and Jared. She is also survived by her sisters Betty, Willi, and Joan, and by her brothers Gary and John. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore & Baseline), on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday at 11 am. Interment at Capital Memorial Gardens.

Rogers, James Arthur “Art”

Peacefully, at home, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, after a lengthy struggle with cancer, at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband of Joan Miltimore. Dear brother of Ronald (the late Fern), Mary McDougall (the late Rodney), Anita Clarke (Stanley), and Gayle Kellar (Ronald), and brother-in-law of Cleona Dow (Donald). He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by his brother Carl and sister-in-law Linda Larocque (Bert). Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road (at Roosevelt) on Monday, April 14th 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, 439 Queen Street (between Bay Street and Sparks Street) on Tuesday at 11:00 am., with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Inurnment in Sutton, Quebec will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Research Society (305-200 Isabella St., Ottawa, ON. Pitre, Lucille (nee Doré)
Suddenly on Saturday April 12, 2008 at the age of 83 years. Beloved wife of Jean-Marie Pitre. Loving mother of Rachel (Craig Workman) and Michael (Kim MacDonald). Dear grandmother of Ryan Workman. She is survived by her sisters and brothers Irene, Rita, Donald, Alice, Claire and Richard. Slack, Timothy (Tim)
Peacefully at CHSLD de la Pietá on April 12, 2008 at the age of 60. Beloved husband of Cathryn (nee Kenny); much loved father of Bradley and Jeffrey; will be dearly missed by his brothers Neil, Joseph and Dale. Predeceased by his parents Kenneth Slack and Eleanor (née Chant). Tim was a Civil Engineer with the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton. We have fond memories of time spent with Tim at Charleston Lake. The family wish to thank the staff at La Pietá for the care and compassion shown to Tim during the past 15 years. Faux, Thomas
Peacefully, after a brief illness on November 1, 2003, Tom, at the age of 82, moved on to join his wife and life-mate Betty. He will be missed by his sons Doug, Ken and Don and his daughters-in-law Bev, Cathy and Sue. Proud grandfather (Poppa) of Shannon, Stephanie, Tiffany, Ashley, Todd and Evan. Dad enjoyed a full and wonderful life with Betty who passed away suddenly in 1998. He wanted so much to see his wonderful wife again and now has completed that final journey. Tom experienced the love of a great extended family, was part owner of the "Big A" Electronics with two life-long partners and friends. He enjoyed being a member of U.C.T. and the friendships that grew from it. Dad spent 22 years of retirement in Florida with Betty and both enjoyed life to the fullest. Beloved father of Kenneth Massé and Elizabeth Cullen (Karl). Cherished grandpa "Ba-Dap" of Aidan Patrick Lorne Cullen. Contreras, Dr. Guillermo
Tuesday November 4, 2003 at the Peter D. Clark Centre at age 82. Beloved husband of Adela. Loving father to Alejandro, Juan and Carmen. Much loved and admired by his grandchildren Cristobal, Camila, Maria and Arielle. Born in Chile where he became a Medical Doctor and was founder and first professor of Virology at the Medical School. He made important contributions to teaching and research in that field. He came to Canada in 1976 as chief of Viral Products, Ministry of Health and Welfare. Received the Presidential Award of the International Poliomielitis Society for his contributions to man kind in the fields of medicine and science, also received grants from Rockefeller and Guggenheim Foundations. Much loved by friends, colleagues and students for his outstanding human qualities, his knowledge and dedication to science and his deep commitment to his social ideas of equality, freedom and justice. He will live in our hearts forever. Our gratitude to the staff at Peter D. Clark Centre, for their compassionate care. A Memorial Service will take place Sunday November 9, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Congregation, 30 Cleary Avenue, Ottawa ON. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society

White, Lena Marion (nee Fisher)
Lena passed away in hospital on Wednesday November 5, 2003, surrounded by family, after a brave battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late William Arthur White. Daughter of the late Thomas and Maria Fisher. Loving mother of Marion (Francisco) and Linda (Leonard). Cherished grandmother of Kathleen and Erin and great-grandmother of Connor. Dear sister of Gladys (Harold) and Violet (late Art). She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Lena was a very gentle, kind and generous lady who has now gone to be with God. Visitation will be private. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, 153 Woodroffe Avenue, on Saturday November 8, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Capital Memorial Gardens, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive. Mills, Donald
Mills – Dr. Donald After a brief but extremely courageous battle with cancer, Don passed away at the young age of 69. Words cannot express the deep sorrow felt by Meriel, his wife of 44 years, by his loving daughters, Sian, Rhian and Delyth, and his sons-in-law, Fernando, Scott and Dave. Grampa will be sorely missed by his eleven grandchildren, Karl, Haleigh, Ariana, Trevor, Steffan, Isabel, Tegan, Bryn, Coel, Nia and Grace. He will also be missed by his extended family in the Welsh society, in the rugby community, and by his many friends and colleagues of Newbridge and March Networks. We love you Dad. Cherished daughter of Betty (nee Reid) McDonald and the late Jack McDonald. Dear sister of Donna Albert (John) and Roberta. Sister in law of Heinz Karthaus. If we think of words to remind us of Judy, they would include Courage, Compassion, Dedication, Gentleness and Kindness. Judy always remembered birthdays and special events were filled with her crafts and baking. She spent a day every week working with the QCH's palliative care patients. Loving grandmother of Kelly (Jason Martin), Stacey (Ed Roberts), Meghan, Courtney, Lindsay, Caitlin and Morgan. Loving great-grandmother of Jacob, Benjamin, Kathryn and Clara. Predeceased by her parents Gertrude and Bern Moffatt, and brother Donald. Norah gave 15 years of continuous voluntary service in the Step-by-Step program of the Ottawa Board of Education for emotionally disturbed children, and always was active in the life and work of Westboro United Church and St. Paul's United Church (Franktown). A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Church, Franktown, on Saturday November 15, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital, 33 Drummond St. W.
