Loving father of Hazel (Richard), Arlene, Judith (Resil), Jo-Anne (George), Betty-Lou (Anthony) and the late Kenneth, Cheryl and Peter. Grandfather of 14, great-grandfather of 13 and friend to many. Suddenly at home on Sunday, December 13, 2009 in her 76th year. Beloved wife of John I. Cavanagh. Devoted mother of Lynn (Mike) of Stewartville, Lois (Tim) of Arnprior, Loyd (Sherry) of Woodlawn, Lee (Charlene), Laurie, and Lester (Stephanie) all of Kinburn. Loving Grandma of Joshua, Adam, Lucas and Edith. Dear sister of Viola Munro (the late John) of Kinburn, Willis Gourlay (Dodi) of Arnprior, Erva MacHardy of Kinburn and Goldie Greene of Ottawa. A private family interment will be held at St. Paul’s cemetery , Kinburn, in the spring. After a brief illness, at Bayfield Manor, on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the age of 96 years. Predeceased by his first wife, Selma Davis. Loving father of Muriel, Melvin, the late Harold, the late Nancy, and Dixie. Dear grandfather of Larry, the late Dwayne, Kevin, Susan, Jane, Lyndon, Jason, Jennifer, and Lisa. Also survived by nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Valetta McCaul and Albert Murdock, his sister Lucinda, brothers Lloyd, Norman, Earl, Irvine and Milton, his second wife Jean Wallace and third wife Elaine Taylor. Peacefully at home in Kanata, Ont., on December 17th, 2009 at the age of 78. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ruth Campbell (nee Jennings), will be sadly missed by his children; Colin (Diane), Heather (Paul), Bruce (Veronique), Graham (Stephanie) and 8 cherished grandchildren; Meghan, Connor, Kelsey, Julie, Karen, Kristen, Brennan and James to whom he will always be affectionately “Bampa.” Gordon, a devoted husband, father and grandfather was originally from Montreal and had a long successful career at Bombardier Aerospace (Canadair). passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Saturday, December 19, 2009 in her 90th year with her immediate family at her bedside. She is predeceased by her husband Rodney (October 2008). She is survived by her children Lucille (John Thibeault), Charles Carson and Diane (Doug Pigeon), her step-grandsons Stephen (Bonnie) and Brent (Julie) Pigeon, and by her step-great-grandchildren Keely, Cassandra, Joshua and Spencer Pigeon. She also leaves behind her sisters Cecile Bazinet, Aline Hotte, Germaine Arnold, Gilberte Gelinas and Jeannette Temple and one brother Gerard Dallaire (Rachelle). Predeceased by her sisters Rejeanne Lacasse, Anita Beland and her brothers Robert (Annette), Rheal (Gloria), Rejean (Carmen), Marcel, and Rolland. Also survived by her sisters-in-law Janice Poaps and Wilda (Ron Aspeck). Predeceased by brothers-in-law Leslie, Norman (Sadie) and Burnell (Eileen) Carson. We, the children, would like to extend a special THANK-YOU to all the staff at Carlingview Manor for taking care of our parents in their last years, especially Linda MacDonald, for making the nursing home, a home away from home, with the best of loving care and compassion. Nelson passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009 at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He was a man devoted to his family, his friends and his community, with a passionate interest in politics and how it affects daily lives. There was nothing he would not do to help others. He will be sadly missed by his wife Anne, his children Krista Hanniman (Chris), Sherry Roher (Matt) and Jonathan and his partner Doug. Nelson was so proud of each of his granddaughters: Laura and Sara (Hanniman) and Charlotte (Roher). The family want to thank all of the many staff in the Critical Care Unit of the Civic Hospital who helped care for him and the firemen and the paramedics. You are all wonderful people. passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20. Ted will be sadly missed by his dear wife of 60 years Jean Ann (Flansbury), his children Brenda Allston (Bruce), Rick Sauvé (Kelly) and grandchildren Dave Allston (Amy), Andrew Allston and Dave Sauvé. Ted was a long time employee of the CPR and NRC (1944-1987). He was a friend and helper to all on Cowley Avenue always the “Neighbourhood Watchman”. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Civic Hospital Campus (Neurological ICU) for their kindness and care. A celebration of Ted’s life will be held at St. George’s Catholic Church (Piccadilly Avenue) on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. A private Inurnment was held at Notre Dame cemetery. Graduate of Royal Military College (1956), RCAF (1952 – 1973), CF-100 Pilot & Instructor Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s, on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband for 53 years of Janet (née Bethune). Dear father of Sandra Dimock (Garry), Linda Dimock (Peter) and Brian (Lorena). Proud grandfather to 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin brother Barry (Erik), and many other extended family and friends. Though Bevil had 3 rewarding careers in his life time, the highlight was when selected as part of the Special Canadian Space Indoctrination Program with the US Air Force Space and Missile System Organization in Los Angeles (1966 – 69). Berndt, Roy
passed away in Gatineau on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at the age of 64. Son of the late Hugh Berndt and of the late Huberte Lacombe. He leaves in mourning his beloved wife: Susan Bradley; his daughter Léa (Andy Butler); his grand-children: Karlie and Maddox; his sister Louise (Wolgang Nitsche) and his brother Michael (Joanne MacMillan), he will be sadly missed by his nephews, his nieces and many many good friends.
