Suddenly in hospital, on Friday, December 25, 2009 at age 77. Beloved husband of Renate. Loving father of Steven (Julia), Marc (Kim) and Keith (Jennifer). Devoted grandfather of Jillian, Jocelyne, Amy, Justin and Olivia. Ronny will be fondly remembered by cousins Joe (Shirley), Joan (Ron) and Pauline. Predeceased by a brother Gerald. He always did his very best for his family. He provided love, wisdom, encouragement and stability. His strength, will and determination are lasting examples to his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of his family and they are so very proud of him. Deeply missed, he will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved him. A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held on January 16, 2010 between 1 and 4 p.m. at 265 Poulin Avenue, Ottawa. Surrounded by his family on December 29, 2009 at the Carleton Place Hospital, Hal passed away at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Claire (nee Bourbonnais). Loving father of Hal Jr, Debbie (Andy) Macdonald, Andrea, Lori (Steve) Watkins and Kathleen (Phil) Graham. Cherished grandfather of Julie, Brent, Kathleen, Cheryl, Virginia, Michael, Sarah, Tasha, Shelby, Seamus, Nicholas, Justin and 7 great-grandchildren. Survived by 6 sisters and 3 brothers. Predeceased by 1 brother and his parents Harold Lee and Margaret Richardson. When CKOY's sister station, CKBY-FM, went country in 1972, “The Bear” crossed over as morning newscaster and Senior News Editor, a post he held until 1987. Hal has been a part of every major country music event in the Valley for the past thirty years, from the Ompah Stomp to the Gatineau Clog and Kanata Kountry. He is a past-President of The Ottawa Valley Country Music Hall of Fame and served on the Board of Directors from its inception in 1980 until 2001. He is survived by his a sister Alvina Lusk of Richmond Ontario, his son Gordon (Carol Kroll) of Manotick, Ontario and his two grandchildrenDeborah-Lynn Kuchciak (Christopher) of Ottawa and Gordon Michael Collin Wilkins (Beth Galeszwski) of Toronto Ontario. He is also survived by four great grandchildren; Connor, Sara, Ryan and Emily. Collin was employed for thirty five years as a Stationary Engineer with Noranda Mines, Noranda Quebec. McCully, James (Jim) Joseph
passed away peacefully at home on Sunday after enduring a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife Norma, his sons James (Gaele), Philip (Heather) and John (Katina); his sisters Margaret (Wylie) and Helen (Wright) and his grandsons Trent, Brennan and Aston. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy in WWII then graduated from McGill University in 1954. He was named a Paul Harris Fellow for the Rotary Club of West Ottawa and he served on numerous committees of St. John the Apostle Church and several other charities. He taught at Algonquin College; was the past president of the Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc. and was a Fellow of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers and recognized for outstanding participation and contributions by the Underwriters Laboratories of Canada. He will be dearly missed by many. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline), Nepean. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2340 Baseline Road, Nepean Thursday at 11 a.m. with reception to follow in the Church hall.
