Suddenly at home on Saturday December 23, 2006 at the age of 59. Bernard was the cherished father of Marc (Danie), Julien, and Denis, and dear friend of Guy Renaud. Papi will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Sophia and Nicolas. Predeceased by his parents Estelle Doré Emery (Lavallée) and Albert Doré and sister Laurette Boulerice (Rosaire). With great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of "Bob" John Robert Davidson at home on May 3rd. He leaves behind his beloved brother Ron and Ron’s partner Maura (Watson); predeceased by his parents Irene and Joe and brother Ken. He will be missed by Eileen, Maureen, Jack, Cecelia, Kathy and "Maw" McCaffrey, Colleen Prubant and family, the Smyths, the O'Sullivans and many friends including Beryl and Carlea. Bob had a love for his work, gardens, nature, horses, artistic design and flower arranging. Gontard, François Marie Étienne
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of François Marie Étienne Gontard on May 5, 2010. Born on June 23, 1926 in Troyes, France, François was awarded the Médaille d'honneur for rescuing 31 swimmers from the surf at Biscarosse, near Bordeaux. He remained an avid swimmer until he was placed in long-term care for Alzheimer's in 2006. François immigrated to Canada in his late 20s. He worked as an electronics technician for Trans Canada Airlines, Dehavilland, Canadian Marconi and Hewlett-Packard. He ended his career as a technical translator for the federal government. He could often be seen riding his bicycle with his beret perched upon his head through the streets where he lived. He was passionate about nature, music and art. François is predeceased by his wife Gladys Jane, and his sister Denise. He leaves to mourn his children: Florence (Pierre), Xavier (Florence), Agnès, Denise (Timothy), and Lily; his grandchildren, Yannick, Mélanie, Samantha (Matt), Léa; and his great-granddaughter, Scarlette Rose. The family is grateful for the care and support of the Centre d'accueil Champlain, the City of Ottawa, and the Alzheimer's support group at Bruyère Continuing Care. Friends and family are welcome to the visitation at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2010, followed by a service and a reception to be held at St. Helen's Anglican Church, Orléans, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Stone - Rex Langdon Peacefully in hospital on Sunday, May 9, 2010 in his 87th year. He married Margaret Brouse of Ottawa on June 14, 1969 and had five children by his first marriage to Nancy Canfield: Nelson Stone of Springfield, SD; Betsy-Jane Reilly of Sanford, Maine; Nancy Alice Whitney of Kerrville, TX; Christopher R. Stone of Ingram TX; and Robin F. Stone of Kerrville, TX. He has fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Rex was born January 13, 1924 in Somersworth, New Hampshire to Annie B. Stone and Rex Langdon Stone. His one brother Earl B. Stone resides in Odenton, MD. Rex grew up in Fort Fairfield, Maine and was a graduate of the first class from Maine Maritime Academy in 1943. Spent the Second World War with the Merchant Marine on convoy duty in the north Atlantic. During the Korean War he was an officer in the United State Navy and returned to the Merchant Marine and served in Vietnam. He retired from the Merchant Marine in 1969 having attained the rank of Captain. His second career was as a High School history teacher and he taught for ten years at Lee Academy in Lee, Maine. Bourne (Toop), Ellen Gould
Ellen Gould Bourne, age 79 of the Town of Pella died Monday, December 25, 2006. Ellen was born March 22, 1927 in Ramsay, Ontario, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Beatrice (Lotan) Toop. Ellen lived on a 200 acre dairy farm in Canada until her marriage to her husband John Bourne, on August 18, 1947. She spent the next 22 years of her marriage on the island of Bermuda until she moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1969. She lived in Florida for 11 years until the marriage of her daughter, Linda Averil Heling, when she moved to Shawano County for the rest of her life. She presently was a member of the Shawano Seventh Day Adventist Church and had been a member of churches in other cities where she live, where she had taken positions as Deaconess, Children’s Division Leader/Teacher, Dorcas Society, Temperance, Investment, volunteer to make props like curtains, benches and trellis’s. She was also a first aid volunteer for injured cyclists in Bermuda. Ellen is survived by her daughter Linda Averil (Eldon) Heling of the Town of Pella, granddaughter Peggy Heling, sisters Esther Campbell of Whitby, Ontario and Margaret (Fritz) Wortman of Sherwood Park, Alberta and sister-in-law Dorothy Toop of Carleton Place and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her parents, her husband John, on June 18, 1986, a daughter Elizabeth in infancy and a brother Harold Toop. Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Pastor Samuel Garbi of the New London Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating.
