Foster, Meridy Anne
Meridy passed away with grace on May 31, 2010 at the age of 61, after living courageously with cancer for 2½ years. Loving step-mother of Brad (Linda – Anna, Sarah) and Tim (Chris – Beth, Jack, Owen, Ruby, Daniel), god-mother of Jamie Stewart, devoted family friend to Karen and Dennis Gorr, Bob and Barb Stewart, numerous other long-time friends in Canada and her native Australia, as well as other countries around the world. She also leaves to mourn Jessie Stewart, Alie Lunn, Kristin Gorr, her niece Rebecca and nephew Matthew, her sister Beverly Silvius, and predeceased by brother Stephen. Meridy is grateful for the care she received at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre, CCAC and The Hospice at May Court. A special thank you to all those wonderful friends who assisted and spent time with Meridy on her journey. All who knew and loved Meridy are welcome to share memories and bid farewell by attending a memorial service at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Baseline Rd. and Bayshore Dr.), Nepean on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 11:00 a.m followed by refreshments. Peacefully at QCH on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, aged 85 years. Beloved wife the of late Donald A. McDonald. Dear mother of Roderick (Pat), Louise Mongeon (Roger), Jennifer Popowicz (Hans), Chuck (Sandi), and Laurie. Predeceased by her parents Roderick and Laurie Stewart and by her son Donald J. McDonald. Peacefully, at the Hospice at May Court, after a brave fight with cancer on Sunday, May 30, 2010, age 60 years. Dearest husband and friend of Nancy Brown. Caring step-father of Gillian Leyland (Derek Marcotte) and Aaron Leyland (Liisa Carr) and grandfather of Wesley and Kiana. Cathcart, Bruce Henry
Suddenly at home, with family, on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the age of 75 years. Much loved husband of Dorothy (née Bell). Proud father of Chris and Meika, and Special Dad to Kelly. Adoring and greatly cherished “Grandpa Bruce” to Jennie and Millie. Son of the late Lola (née Kennedy) and Clarence Cathcart. Dear brother of Eva Brown (Ted) and the late Beverley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and his sister-in-law Wilma Hamilton (Hugh). Bruce will also be deeply missed by his canine travelling companion Tsunami, his many friends, extended family and business associates that he had the good fortune to have in his life. Cunnington, Gloria Grace
Peacefully in hospital, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the age of 81 years. Daughter of the late Norma McLatchie and John Stewart. Beloved wife of the late Peter Treston Cunnington. Dear mother of Lee Anne and Shelagh. Proud and cherished Grandma of Michelle and Nicholas. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her; including her extended family, good neighbours, wonderful friends, and the special relationships made over the years at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club. Unexpectedly at home in Ottawa, and grateful for the many lives she lived. She is survived by her husband T. Paul Anthony. Loving mother of Paul J. (Sandra) of Ottawa and Susan (Gerald Dewan) of British Columbia. Proud Nana of Christopher, Daniel and Jake. Dear sister of Fred, the late Patrick, Fern, Denis, Betty and Mike. She will also be missed by Nicole, many nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and acquaintances. Fleming, Susan (née Clement) 1946-2006 passed away with family at her side on Saturday December 30, 2006 after a lengthy and courageous fight with Huntington’s Disease. Beloved mother of Robert, Paisley and Shannon. Dear sister of Stephen Clement (Barbara) and Marcia Clement. Daughter of the late Robert and Sylvia Clement. Survived by aunts Phyllis Dutchak and Marcia Rogers (Stuart). She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at St. Vincent Hospital. Predeceased by her sisters and brothers Gladys (Tom Shane), Earl (Hazel), Verna (Jack Shannonhouse), Gertrude, Viola (Noel Hill), Della (Frank Robinson) and Everett. She is survived by her sister-in-law Maxine and by several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or service by request

Flatt, Kathleen (Kay) Peacefully at Garden Terrace, on Monday, January 1, 2007 at the age of 83 years. Loving wife of Albert Flatt. Dear mother of Katherine Bailey (Dave), Cliff (Susanna), David (Holly), Patricia Antle, and Philip (Dianne). Proud grandmother of Lea Anne, Todd, Ian, Bryanna, Gregory, Thomas, Pamela and Megan; and great-grandmother to Micheal. A private family service was held. LUSK, Pauline (nee, Storing) Aylmer Legion Branch 33 Peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday January 4, 2007 at the age of 60. Beloved wife of Clifford Lusk. Cherished mother of Kim Storing (Victor Sommers) and Tanya Storing (Richard Griffith). Loving grandma to her crown jewels Brad, Danny, Shawn, Lindsay and Nicholas. Predeceased by her parents Frederick and Josephine and survived by her step-father Lornie Brunette. She will be sadly missed by her siblings Gerald (Cheryl), Linda (David), Judy (Ken), Jackie (Bill), Sandra (Thomas), Richard (Claire), Nancy and Wendy. Predeceased by her brothers Terry (Bonnie) and William (Linda). She will be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law, her large extended family and dear friends. Heartfelt thanks to her special friend Norma Granger for her years of friendship. A Mass in memory of Pauline will be celebrated on Saturday January 13 at 11 am in St Mark’s Church in Aylmer (160 Main Street). Peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2007 age 85 years. Beloved wife of the late William H. Mather. She is survived by her sons Frank of Toronto, Stewart and Harold both of Ottawa, daughters Marion of Whitby and Judith of Parry Sound. Predeceased by her son Billy, grandson Philip and daughter-in-law Dolores. Martha will be greatly missed by all who know her. Special thanks to the people of West End Villa and to the nurses and doctors of the Queensway Carleton Hospital, 4th floor. Loving grandmother of Marc and Matthew Russo. Sister of Winnifred Elliott. Predeceased by her sisters Margaret Moran, Gertrude Robinson and brothers Harold and Mervyn Blaney. Black, William Donaldson (Don) BSA49
Dec. 19, 1923 – Aug. 4, 2010
With family by his side, Dad slipped peacefully away following a short stay in hospital. He leaves to mourn his wife, and loving companion for close to 70 years, Madeline; his children Catherine (Gerry), Stephen (Bella), Elizabeth (Ewen), Richard (Linda), and the joys of his life, his 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Being the first in his family to attend college (Ontario Agriculture College, Guelph), he went on to serve as provincial Agriculture Representative for Wellington County and later Carleton County, until his retirement in 1983. Always involved, he served on the executive of numerous associations including; the CCEA, Ottawa Winter Fair, Ottawa Valley Seed Growers And Farm Show, Carleton County Plowmen’s, and Eastern Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement , to name a few. Sports were an important part of his life, and as a young man, he pitched softball competitively and played as a goalie in hockey, eventually playing Intermediate ‘A’ and tending goal for the OAC team of 1949. Later in life, he founded the Goulbourn Lawn Bowling Club, enjoying the game until he was no longer able to play. Our mentor, a respected listener, providing sage advice on request in his calm and confident manner, his memory will live on through those who knew and loved him. Thanks to the special staff on A3 Queensway Carleton Hospital who cared for him in his final days; Joyce, Quincy, Sergio, Sue, Billie and Dr Christine Whetter, and to the caring staff at Bridlewood Trails Retirement Community. At his request, there will be no visitation or service. Interment will be at a later date at Tara, Ontario. Memorial donations may be made to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation, The Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.

Peacefully, on August 5, 2010. Son of the late Lewis and Marie (nee Stafford) Robinson. Beloved husband of Lynn (nee Fraser). Loving father of Christine, Terrie and Jason (Jaime). Quietly at Granite Ridge on Saturday, August 7th, 2010 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Gwendolyn. Loving father of Alan, Elaine Burton and the late Eric. Cherished grandfather of James and Dana Burton. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Staff of Granite Ridge Nursing Home for all their care and kindness. As well to his friends for their continuing visits and interest in his welfare, which were always appreciated. A private family service will be held at a later date.
