Suddenly at Sylvan Lake Alberta. Jeff Seed, youngest son of the late Philip J. and Dorothy Seed. Brother of Philip C. (Jocelyn) and Gordon (Rachel) of Ottawa and Carole Rogers (Kym) of Adelaide S. Australia. Also survived by several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and his dear friends of many years Mike and Carolyn Ruttan-Bradley. He will also be sadly missed by many other friends in Sylvan Lake and other places he has lived including Richmond B.C. and the Ottawa area. A gathering of friends took place in Sylvan Lake on May 18th and 19th and an Alberta Yellow Rosebush was planted in his memory. Special thanks to Jim, Ed, John of the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home where a small service was held followed by cremation. A true friend to many, a witty and creative guy. Sadly and unexpectedly a dear husband, father, friend and coach to many. Beloved best friend and husband of Carolyn (Leroux) and father of Tara, Joel, Courtney and Brooke. Son of the late Fern (Knox) and Garnet. Brother of Debbie (Jane), Brent (Jody), Kevin (Debbie) and Jill (Tim Benger) and the late Brenda (Sam Buck). Beloved son in law of John and Pat Leroux and brother in law of Jan and Mark Kelly and Wayne and Robyn Leroux. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews Mike, Rob, Ryan, Tyler, Madison and great nephews Chase and Hunter. Rory was full of life and in many ways he was larger than life. A kind and gentle spirit, he went out of his way to help those in need, giving whatever he could and always offer a kind and encouraging word. Rory was a much loved member of the Stittsville and Kanata communities, having touched the lives of many youth in his work as a hockey coach, or while helping out with numerous community activities. Famous for his generous spirit, his easy and frequent laughter, Rory’s hands were never idle. For youth around the Kanata Stittsville area, Rory Bradley was a hockey coach, a friend and a role model. He brought us together and, through hockey, taught us about life. Through Rory, numerous friendships were formed, nurtured and strengthened. Rory’s lasting lessons can be applied both on and off the ice: the importance of heart in everything we do, the importance of teamwork and friendship, the need for character when things aren’t going well and respect for everyone, including the refs. Rory Bradley was our life coach… and he always will be. Meininger, Aileen Lorraine
passed away peacefully at Stoneridge Manor in Carleton Place on Sunday, May 23, 2010, aged 94. Predeceased by her parents Harold A. Meininger & Lorraine Drulard Meininger, sister Ethel Bonneville, and brothers Harold Meininger & Milton Meininger. Survived by her sister Henrietta Kryskallla of Cincinnati, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. After a long career as an educator, Lorraine spent her retirement years in the Ottawa area. She made many new friends who appreciated her lively sense of humour and wonderful generosity of spirit. Even as her health declined, she continued to bring happiness to those around her. Special thanks go to Dr. Drake and the dedicated staff at Stoneridge who provided a caring and comforting home for Lorraine over the last two years. As Lorraine wished, cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 28 Hawthorne Ave., Carleton Place, on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.

Born January 12, 1913 to parents Thomas Wood Bragger and wife Wilhelmina Hogg in Montreal. Cherished wife for 52 years of Roy Bradbury (1913 - 1988). Beloved mother of Ruth Henderson and Carolyn Elmhirst. Devoted grandmother of Craig (Michele) from Calgary, Karen (Tom) and Glen (Lori) of Ottawa and Gregory (Martina) and Stephen (Caroline) from Keene, Ontario. Loving great grandmother of Sarah and Amanda of Calgary; Henry, Ryder, Nadiya, Georgia and Mary all of Keene; Annabel of Ottawa; and Megan of Cambridge. Throughout her long life, she remained a guiding presence in the many changes and stages of our lives. She showed curiosity and openness to the changes from simpler early times to the later decades of progress and complexity of the world. She had many happy years of travel, and was the epitome of skill and generosity in her beloved traditional homemaking and handicrafts. Her steadfast determination to cope with all that life brings is her legacy to her family. Doris's memorial service will take place on Thursday, June 3rd at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Christ Church Bells Corners. Peacefully at home following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Joe will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend of 55 years Beverly (Brydges), his devoted daughter Jo Ann (Jack Donaldson) and two grandsons Christopher and Jonathan of whom he was so proud. He is predeceased by his son Jeffrey Joseph, his parents John and Loretta (Hogan), his sister Mary (late Harry Oikle), his brother Lawrence and his brother Gerald (late Leona). Joe is a cherished brother of Kathleen (late Joe) Carroll, Desmond (late Diane), Leo, Bernard (Sharon), Dorothy (late Ray) Robertson and Raymond (Shirley). He will be dearly missed by the Brydges family and many nieces and nephews in both families. A dedicated husband, father, Poppa & brother, Joe was a true man of the soil. Proudly farming his beloved Tara Hill for over 65 years, he was 6th generation to farm the original Madden land grant of 1840. He persevered in good times and bad, looking back at his accomplishments with pride.
