Alan King, in his 82nd year. Predeceased by his father Edward and mother Annie. Loving husband of June (nee Hawkins). Devoted brother of Ross and wife Monique, niece Carolyn (Ken). Dear father of Jack (Kaye), Ron (Marilyn) and daughter Barb (Pete). Will be greatly missed by grandchildren Francis (Michael) of Calgary, Richard (Mary), Janet (Veto), Sherry (Richard) of Windsor, John (Tracy) of Barrie, Bill (Karen) Shawn of Oshawa. Predeceased by grandson Ronald. Great-grandchildren Michaela, Quentin, Jacqulin, Allyshia, Joseph, Kyle, Breanna, Brendan, Dustin, Amanda, Connor and Cassidy.Alan served in Canada North Atlantic area and United Kingdom from June 1940 - January 1943, returning to Kingston, Ontario 1942, to be re-commissioned to Lieutenant and returned overseas January 1943 and served until 1945. He received the Meritorious Service Award from Can. Corps 42 1967, Centennial Medal 1967, Queen's Jubilee Medal 1977, 125th Anniversary of Confederation 1993, as well as many other medals for service during the war. Alan was Pres. of Can. Corps which he joined in 1953, from 1963-1964, 1975-81, 1985-1992, again 96, 97, 1999. Pres. Ontario Command 1967-1967, 2nd Vice Pres. Dominion Command 1985, 1st Vice Pres. Dominion Command 1996. Alan retired after 30 years from General Motors. He is also survived by his cousins in England. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
