Ruth Lewis (nee Slack) of Barrie, formerly of Altona, in her 78th year, passed away March 15, 2001, after a massive heart attack, with her family at her side. She is survived by her husband Fred, children Jean Harper, Shirley Hanson, Roy Lewis, Joyce Johnson, June Powell, Helen Hamerston, Earl Lewis, and Lorne Lewis. She was predeceased by her son Terry Lewis in 1999. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at O'Neill Funeral Home, 6324 Main Street, Stouffville on Saturday, 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Stouffville Missionary Church.
