Born in Croatia 1924, peacefully on Wednesday March 14, 2001 at Cedarcroft Retirement Home, Oshawa, at the age of 76. Katarina, beloved wife of the late Djuro Loparic. Loving mother of Nick Safaric. Dear sister of Anne Crncec of Croatia, and cousin of Magdica Posedi of Bramalea. Katarina will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends in Croatia and Canada. Friends may call at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa, on Friday March 16th from 7-9 p.m. with a funeral service in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday March 17th at 1 pm. Interment Thornton cemetery , Oshawa. If so desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Suzanne, Scott, Erin, Brent, Tyler, Samuel, Derek, Morgan, Eric, lsabelle and great-granddaughter Abby. Resting of the Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, 23 Main Street South, on Thursday, March 15th, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the chapel on Friday at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Predeceased by sisters Henrietta, Rose, Susan, and brothers, Walter and Albert. Survived by sisters Ivy and Vivian. A private family memorial service was conducted on Friday, March 16, 2001 in the chapel of the McEachnie Funeral Home. Grandmother of David, Lee Ann and her boyfriend Rob, Shirley, Jesse, Stephanie, and Brandon. Great grandmother of David, Jamie, Rebecca, Natasha, Aleesha, Shawn D, Drake and Gracie. Dear sister of Florrine, George, Mary, and the late Matthew, Robert, Herman, Freeman, Lorne, Roberta (Bud), Kathleen (Billy), Gwen, and Gloria.
