CROSS, Doris -
(Resident of Colonial Nursing Home). Peacefully, at Lakeridge Health- Oshawa on Saturday, April 21, 2001 in her 86th year. Predeceased by her loving husband James. Caring mother of Rosanne Campbell of Toronto. Caring Grandmother of Wayne Campbell and his wife Nellie, Jess Campbell and Scott Campbell. Doris will be sadly missed by her great-grandchildren Colby and Curtis, brother Harold Kinsley and nephews Ken and Harold Kinsley. Always remembered by her card playing pals at the cottage and her many friends at the Whitby Activity Centre. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at MOUNT LAWN MEMORIAL GARDENS on Wednesday, April 25 at 2 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE (905-721-1234). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

JOHNSON, Rhea Mae -
After a lengthy illness at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton on Saturday, April 21st, 2001 in her 78th, beloved wife of the late Ronald "Red" Johnson (1992); dear mother of Judith (Dino) Pen, Bowmanville, Marilyn (Herb) Martin, Brantford and Ron Johnson, Scarborough; loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren survived by one brother and two sisters; predeceased by one sister and three brothers; also sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Rhea spent much of the last 15 years in a courageous battle with cancer and other illnesses. She was a two time cancer survivor and an inspiration showing her strength and determination during those battles. "And the battle still goes". Friends will be received at the HILL & ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME, Nelson and Queen Street, on Monday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 3:30 p.m. Cremation. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Victorian Order of Nurses or St. John's Ambulance would be appreciated.

Veteran WW11. Suddenly at his residence on Saturday April 21, 2001. Patrick Plumadore age 80. Loving husband of Frances. Dear Father of John Clayton of Ottawa and Karen and her husband John Hillier of Courtice. Loving Papa of Becky, Jamie, Kody and Katie. Will be missed by both family and friends. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa, Ontario, with Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gertrude's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday April 24, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. Prayers will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Oncology Dept. of Sick Children's Hospital or Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated. Visitation on Monday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

On Saturday April 21, 2001 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa in her 79th year. Irene, beloved wife of Marcel. Loving mother of Marcella and her husband Victor Tomiczek, Teddy and his wife Francine, Louise and her husband John Anderson, Paulette and her husband Louie Dandurand, Madeleine and her husband Arlen Dalby, Michael, Carole and her husband Paul Murree, Suzanne and her husband Mario Bolduc, and Lisa. Loved grandmother of 17 and great grandmother of 7. Irene is predeceased by grandsons Paul and Matthieu and brothers Kenny, Bert, Cyril, Donnie and sister Gertrude. Friends may call at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa, on Wednesday April 25th from 1:30 p.m. with a Memorial Service in the chapel of the Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Memorial Donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Age 57 years. Suddenly at Oshawa on Saturday, April 21st, 2001. Beloved husband of Gail (Stainton). Dear father of Jim & Catherine Simpson, Roberta & Kevin Kellachan, Barb Young, Sharon McKelvey, Jeff Hockin & Jessica Hockin. Loving grandfather of Jennifer, Robert, Jason & Cassandra. Loving son of the late Helen & Frank Simpson & is survived by his step-mother Marie Simpson. Fondly remembered by his former wife Eleanor & by his sisters Francis, Jane, Eileen & Marilyn & by his nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville 2-4 & 7-9pm Tuesday. Funeral Service will take place in our Chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Cremation. Loved mother of Lynda Dekker and her husband Wybrand, Brenda Primeau and her husband Bob, and the late Roger Crawford. Dear mother-in-law of Heather Roper and her husband Bill, Tracey Lacey and her husband Eddie, Rhonda Crawford, Vanessa, And Vaughn Primeau. Great-grandmother of Joshua, Matthew, Sommer, and Adam Lacey, and Nicholas and Mitchell Driver. The family will receive friends at the MCEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2001. Service in the Chapel on Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in GROVESIDE cemetery , Whitby. Loving grandmother of Christopher and Jodie, Gregory and Lori, and Ryan and Tommy, and great-grandmother of Austin and Jamie. (Former P.R. Executive for the Oshawa Hawkeye Football Club, Adherent member of Calvary BaptistChurch). Quietly went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 20th, 2001 in his 72nd year. Loving husband of Margaret "Peggy" (nee Fleming). Beloved father of Bryan, Robert and Dave and his wife Amanda and grandson Jakob. Donald will be sadly missed and always loved by all the people whose lives he touched. At Strathaven Life Care Centre on Friday April 20, 2001. Jim was born on September 21, 1917 in Durham County, Ontario where he lived and farmed most of his life. He is survived by his wife Jeanne Simpson of Ajax and his children Stephen and Elaine Simpson of Bowmanville, Blaine and MaryLee Ashworth of Calgary, Robert and Faye Simpson of Guelph, John andLouise Simpson of Bowmanville, David and Lynn Simpson of Burlington, Jane McIntyre of Whitby, Janet Simpson of Ajax, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He will be remembered by his sisters Dorothy Simpson-Gall of Edmonton, Kathleen Marquis of Port Hope, brother-in-law Alfred Perrin of Norwood and numerous other family members. Jim was predeceased by his sisters Ruth Perrin, Marion Guy, Ethel Hendry and brother Hilliard Simpson. Cremation. A graveside service will be held at Orono cemetery at a later date. Donations to the charity of choice may be made through the Morris Funeral Chapel, 4 Division St., Bowmanville.

SMITH Gordon Isaac -
Suddenly passed away at home, on Friday, April 20, 2001, in his 78th year. Beloved husband of the late Ethel Smith.
