John entered into rest at the Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa on Monday, April 23, 2001 after a long, courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Predeceased by his devoted wife of 45 years, Lorraine (nee McIsaac) in 1999. Cherished father of John, Jan and her husband Bill Hodgson. Predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Mary Hruska. Dear brother ofMary Kicinko, Frank Hruska and his wife Mary, Andrew (predeceased) and his wife Helen Hruska. Brother-in-law of Shirley and Tony Harrison. John dearly loved his many nieces and nephews. Prior to his illness, John spent his career with General Motors in Oshawa and Windsor, Ontario. He was very active in Essex County politics and held the position of Deputy Reeve of St. Clair Beach for several years. He served as a dedicated volunteer to the Cerebral PalsyAssociation in Windsor for many years and taught several business courses at St. Clair College. John will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Hillsdale Manor for their kindness and care. Remember him in your kind thoughts. Sadly, on Monday, April 23, 2001, our first born child, Jordan Eva Menard, aged 2 and 1/2 years, was taken from us in a tragic car accident. She leaves behind, brother Aidan, 20 days old, Mommy, Daddy, M re-M ere, Uncle Shane, Grandma, Auntie Sandra, Pappie, Stephanie, Grandma and Grandpa Staples, Great Grandma Byrne, and many wonderful playmates and cousins. In her death, Jordan was able to give life saving organs to seven other children. (Longtime member of the Oshawa Golf Club) Formerly of Ballycliffe Lodge Nursing Home, died at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa, on Wednesday, January 17, 2001. Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, April 25, 1912. Daughter of the late Alexander and Ann (nee Wright) Ferguson. Beloved wife of the late Fredrick Gibson (d.1973), Lew McConkey (d. 1969) and Rusty Robinson (d.1960). Predeceased by her siblings Donald, Alexander Jr., Gordon and Marion. Ann graduated as a registered nurse from City Hospital in Saskatoon. She worked at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, whereshe met Rusty Robinson. Following Rusty's death, Ann became a private nurse to Col. R.S. (Sam) McLaughlin. The job entailed travel to exciting locales which Ann enjoyed immensely. Ann met and married Lew McConkey, who worked with the Oshawa Board of Trade. Following Lew's death, Ann married Fred Gibson. Ann shared with Fred an abiding passion for golf. They were early members of the Oshawa Golf and Country Club. They wintered in Florida where they also golfed avidly. After Fred's death, Ann enjoyed a busy lifestyle, driving regularly from Oshawa to Fort Myers, Fla., with stopovers in Ann arbor, Mich. and Atlanta, Georgia to visit family. Ann enjoyed people and had a tremendous sense of fun. She leaves behind a stepdaughter, Judy Abernethy; her 'Gr-Ann' kids, Merrilee, David John, Tome and Rick; and her nieces and nephews of whom David Cook, of Saskatoon, was especially supportive duringAnn's declining years. Suddenly at her home on Sunday April 22nd, 2001 in her 90th year. Loving wife of the late Harry Boudreau ( married 70 years ago on this day). Caring mother of Marie, Anita (Herman), Lydwin (Terry) and Opal (Cecil) of Ontario, Noella, Henry (Barb), and Hector (April) of New Brunswick. “Grandmere” will be sadly missed by her 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her brother Charles and sister Yvonne of New Brunswick. Ethel is predeceased by her son Alex and brother Thomas and sisters Lena and Aggie.
