John Saul Craft - 11/13/2005

passed away peacefully, in his 92nd year on Saturday, November 12, 2005. Survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Sadie, his daughters Hinda Ritter (Sid) and Elsa Ruth Swedko (Norman). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Michael Ritter (Flynne), Beth-Caren Goldberg (Bobby), Alan Ritter (Jenni), Andrea Goldenberg (Michael) and Stacey Swedko. Leaving a wonderful legacy of seven great-grandchildren. Forever in the hearts of his devoted nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his beloved grandson Peter Swedko. A Funeral Service will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1771 Cuba Avenue on Monday, November 14, 2005 at 11 a.m. Interment Jewish Community cemetery , Bank Street, Ottawa. Shiva will be observed at 102-2400 Virginia Drive from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donations may be made to the Dr. Peter J. Swedko Memorial Legacy Endowment Fund, The Ottawa Hospital Foundation-737 Parkdale Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, K1Y 1J8 (798-5555 Ext. 19818). Olive Mary Craig - 11/14/2005

Peacefully, in hospital, with her family at her side, on Saturday, November 12, 2005, in her 93rd year. She was born on August 18, 1913 to Holly Oliver and (William) James Wills of Ottawa. She married Lloyd George Craig on November 2, 1940 and they were happily married for 54 years before his death on January 17, 1995. Olive was the beloved mother of Bill Craig (Anne), Peg Craig, Holly Craig (Jerry Parker of Ann Arbor Michigan) and Cora Lynn Craig (Steve Harris), and beloved grandmother of Marilyn Craig (Blair Colquhoun), Jane Craig (Gordon Burton) of Deep River, Jeff Craig (Amy Silverman) and the late Mark Craig. She was proud of her great-grandchildren Sarah and Rachel Colquhoun, and Meghan, Patrick, Emily and Korin Burton. She is survived by her dear sister Muriel (Tom Wright) of Cayucos California, and was preceded in death by her sister the late Mavis Wills and brother James (Rhoda) Wills. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and other sister , Margaret Wilson of Ottawa. Olive devoted her life to her family and her church. Prior to her marriage, she left school early to help her father so the family business could survive during the Great Depression. As a homemaker, she worked hard to make a comfortable home for her husband and children and together Olive and Lloyd denied themselves many things in order to support their children s educations. She was an accomplished needle worker and was making beautiful items to raise monies for charity right up until her death. All of those she loved have many handmade and beautiful knitted and crocheted items by which they will treasure her memory. She had been a member of Bell Street United Church throughout her life, and a member of the United Church Women for 75 years. A service to celebrate Olive s life will be held at Bell Street United Church, corner of Arlington and Bell on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 11:00, followed by a reception in the church hall and then interment at Capital Memorial Gardens. Arrangements in care of the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bell Street United Church Reserve Fund would be greatly appreciated.

Edna May Ebbitt (nee Rose) - 11/21/2005

Died peacefully at the Glebe Centre on Saturday, November 19, 2005. She had been a resident of the Glebe Centre for the last two years. Edna was born in Montreal in 1916, where she was active in radio and taught synchronized swimming. She had resided in Ottawa for the past 35 years. Later in life, one of Edna's greatest joys was ballroom dancing. She and her late husband, Bill, regularly attended dancing classes and found great enjoyment in this activity. She loved her family first and will always, always be remembered for her loving smile. Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bill Ebbitt, and her brother, Johnny Rose. Edna is survived by her son Jim, of Westlake Village, California. Edna will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Michael and Tim, as well as many friends. Many thanks to the Glebe Centre staff for their dedication and loving care beyond the call of duty. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Wednesday, November 23, 2005, from 10:30am until Service time in the Chapel at 11:30am. Interment at Beechwood cemetery.

Yvon (Yogi) Gervais - 11/21/2005

Peacefully surrounded by his family on November 20, 2005 at the age of 66. Son of the late Bruno Gervais and the late Germaine Gervais (nee Gabouri). He leaves behind his beloved wife Yvette (nee Rioux), his children Kathleen, Marc (Chantal Tremblay), Michel (Maggie Tessier), Guy (Maureen O Connor), Christine (Oliver Saintonge). He also leaves his grandchildren Jesse, Emily, Christopher, Samuel, Ryan, F lix, Laurence and his step-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother Jean-Luc, he leaves his other brothers Gilles (Lucille), Marcel, Andr , G rard, Charles (Vida) and many nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts and cousins. Friends may visit at the St-Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Wednesday, November 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at the Notre Dame Cathedral, Sussex Drive, Ottawa on Thursday, November 24, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. In his memory, donations to the St. Vincent Hospital would be appreciated. The family wishes to thank the employees for the excellent care provided.

William Allan Gregory - 11/22/2005

Surrounded in the love of his three daughters, Anne; Carole (Kenneth Eady), Paula (Thomas Collins). Allan peacefully slipped away to join his beloved wife Ginger in eternal rest on Monday, November 21, 2005. Allan was born on October 11, 1922 to the late Milton and the late Muriel Gregory and is survived by his brother Hubert (Marie) of Mission, Texas; his favorite granddaughter Shannon (David Wilson) and grandsons Shawn, Christopher, Kurtis and great-grandchildren Ashley and baby Campbell. Allan was a proud Second World War Overseas Veteran; a 42 year member of the Montgomery Branch #351, Royal Canadian Legion; held a lifetime membership in Sydney Albert Luke Lodge, #558 A.F. and A.M., a charter member of Luxor Daylight Lodge, #741, A.F. and A.M., a member and Past Patron of Capital City Chapter, # 172, Order of the Eastern Star; a member of the Ottawa Tunis Shriners, A.A.O.N.M.S., and a life member of the Tunis Shrine Oriental Band. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Wednesday, November 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Service of Thanksgiving and Celebration will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, November 24, 2005 at 10 a.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. In memoriam donations may be made to the Ottawa-Carleton Parkinson s Association or to the St. James Anglican Church, Leitrim, would be appreciated. The Gregory family wishes to extend grateful appreciation to the staff of 5D, Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus for the compassionate care provided to their cherished Father, as well as the special considerations accorded to Anne, during this time, Dad will forever dwell in our hearts.

Peacefully on Monday, November 21st, 2005 with her family at her side. Beloved wife and best friend of George. Loving mother of Gregg (Adele) and Christie Keech. Cherished grandmother of Jason, Jeremy, Clinton, Jonathan, Holly and Joshua. Beatrice Langton - 11/23/2005

Peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2005, Beatrice Lawlor Langton, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Langton. Devoted mother of Gerald (Geraldine) and Melvin (Lynne). Cherished grandmother of Donald (Dominique), Danny (Chrissie), Dennis, John-Luke (Megan Davis), and Jody (Charlotte Reaburn). Lovingly remembered by her great grandchildren Thomas, Laura, Cameron and Spencer. Survived by her dear sister and friend Mary Ryan. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the McGarry Memorial Chapel, 139 Valley Road , Wakefield, Quebec , on Friday, November 25, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Camillus Roman Catholic Church in Farrellton, Quebec on Saturday at 11am, with burial to follow in the Parish cemetery. A very special thanks to all the doctors and nursing staff at the Gatineau Memorial Hospital in Wakefield. In Memoriam donations to the Gatineau Memorial Hospital Foundation would be most appreciated.

Adrien (Gegan) Lauzon - 11/16/2005

Suddenly on Sunday, November 13, 2005, age 60 years. Son of the late Adrien and Theresa (nee Brazeau) Lauzon and step-son of Esther Widmer Lauzon. Predeceased by two brothers Albert (Bob) Lauzon and Jean-Rene (John) Lauzon. Gegan will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his many family and friends. Friends may attend a Graveside Service at Pinecrest cemetery , 2500 Baseline Road on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 2pm. Those wishing may make memorial donations in memory of Gegan to the Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre, 737 Parkdale Avenue, 1st Floor, Ottawa, Ontario K1Y 1J8. John Alexander "Jackie" McDougall - 11/12/2005

Peacefully in hospital, on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at the age of 78. Beloved son of the late Earl and Edith McDougall of Blenheim, Ontario. Loving brother of Edwin (the late Christine) of Philadelphia, and predeceased by his sister Charlotte Pearce (the late Frank). Survived by his nephew Gregg, and niece Laurie, both of Philadelphia, and niece Carolyn, her husband Steven Maynes and their children Erin and Andrew, all of Ottawa. Friends may attend a memorial service in Jackie s honour at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 2:30pm. Reception to follow in the McGarry Family Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
