passed away at his home, with family members at his bedside, Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at the age of 76 years. Dear gentle man, loving husband of Jean, dearly loved father of Bonnie (Kenn), Barbara (Brian), Bill (Aila), Robert (Stephanie), Tom (Peggy) and Douglas. Doting grandfather of Nicholas, Dustin, Sebastian, Rafael, Luc, Mathew, Allison, Emily, Devon, Bronte, Christian and Mercia. Don was in the Navy during W.W. II. He graduated from O.V.C. in 1954 and was in large animal practice in Uxbridge. He went on to establish the Markham Road Veterinary Hospital where he practiced until 1979. In 1980, he established the Mt. Albert Veterinary Hospital where he continued to do daily what he enjoyed most, caring for pets, large and small. Don loved his island in Temagami and the family fun times there. His family and friends will always remember Don for his love of nature and animals and for how much he enjoyed working around his farm and his newly planted apple orchard. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Feinberg, Dr. Hart and the supportive staff at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Toronto. Also, the family thanks Dr. Merrow, nurses Tracy Derry, Teresa Buckley and Melissa Colbourne for their excellent care of and support to Don and the family at home. The family is especially thankful to the numerous friends of the family and the members of the Mt. Albert community for their kind words of support, thoughts and prayers. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Albert United Church, Alice St. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the St. Joseph's Health Centre Foundation or to the Mt. Albert United Church would be appreciated.
