SMITH, Karen Marie (nee Myers) -
Suddenly after a courageous battle with cancer, Karen at the age of 59 passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family. Daughter of Orville and Vivian Myers. Beloved wife of Cohn. Loving mother of Sandy, Albert, Judith Knipe, Gary and Brian Smith and predeceased by son David. Sadly missed by brother Ronald and his wife Suzanne, sister Sandra and her husband Malcolm, sister Cathy and her husband Bob and her brother Brian and his wife Nora. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Stephen, Jennifer, Michelle, Jade-Cody, Troy, Sabrina, Bruce, Dustan and Ashley. Karen was a long time employee of Chrysler and was a supporting member of the Loyal Order at Moose Lodge. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE “Thornton Chapel” 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Monday, July 9th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. SMITH, Frank Mack -
At Lakeridge Hospital Oshawa with his family at his side. The family mourns the passing of Frank Mack Smith, in his 87th year, on Thursday July 5th, 2001. Frank is survived by his wife of 60 years Myra, and was the proud father of two sons Munro and Ian and their wives Beryl and Helen. Loving Grandfather of Adam and Keri. Favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews. Loved by sisters and brothers in law. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Frank is predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Frank. Friends and family are welcome to attend a celebration of Franks life which will be held at the Oshawa Little Theatre 62 Russett Avenue in Oshawa on Sunday July 8th from 1-3 p.m.

CAMERON, Christina Margaret -
Peacefully at Rosewood Manor, Bowmanville on Wednesday, July 4, 2001 in her 93rd year. Christina, beloved wife of the late Robert (Bert) Cameron. Loving mother of Jean Barrett and her late husband Bob, Audrey Barton and her husband Orval, Doug and his wife Maureen, Margaret Small and her husband Bill, Lorraine Phillips, Gail Warren and her husband Bill and the late Barbara Finch. Also remembered by Barbara's husband Bob Finch. Loved grandmother of 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dear sister of Hilda Templar, Tom Annand, Norman Annand and his wife Betty and the late Andy Annand and Mary Annand. A memorial service will be held at the Morris Funeral Chapel, 4 Division St., Bowmanville on Monday, July 9th at 11 a.m. Visitation one hour prior to service. Donations to Rosewood Manor would be gratefully appreciated.

HAMILTON, Irene Elizabeth -
Graduated to Glory on Wednesday, July 4, 2001 at the Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto. In her 66th year. Irene, beloved wife of Grant. Dear mother of Karen and her husband Howard Shapiro, David and his wife Theresa and Ingrid Hamilton. Grandmother of Taylor, Morgan, Jordan, Logan, Hannah and Kassandra. Survived by her brother Owen Green. Funeral Service to be held on Saturday, July 7, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. from Living Water Community Church, Uxbridge, 2 Campbell Drive (Testa Professional Building). Visitation from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Interment Uxbridge cemetery. In Irene's memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Sunnybrook Palliative Care. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge.

HERDMAN, Norman Richard -
Peacefully after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, July 4th, 2001 at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre, in his 55th year. Beloved husband of Gloria. Loving father of Jason and Jeremy. Survived by his brothers John, Bruce, Ted, Fred and his sister Marleen. Friends will be received at the chapel at Thornton cemetery , 1200 Thornton Road, Oshawa, on Saturday, July 7th from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Service to follow at 12 noon. Arrangements entrusted to The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre.

LAYTON, Cecelia Ann (nee Lehman) -
passed away peacefully in her sleep, on July 4, 2001 at Markham-Stouffville Hospital in her 59th year. Devoted single mother of Kenneth (Earlene), Gwendolyn (Bill Meaks), Robert (Donna) and Steven. Loving Grandma to Andrew, Kelly, Jessica, Michael, Layton and Wesley. Dear daughter of the late Evelyn and Don (Beanie) Lehman. Special sister of Donna (Ed), Judy (Keith) and Tom (Kelly). Friends may call at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 6324 Main St., Stouffville, on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at Box Grove United Church on Monday, July 9 at 1 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Box Grove United Church would be appreciated.

At Fairview Lodge in Whitby on Tuesday July 3rd, 2001. Tommy Cotnam in his 76th year. Beloved husband of the late Irene Cotnam (nee Cuddahee). Dear father of Karen Cotnam & her husband Robert Woods and Gerry Cotnam & his wife Sharon. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Brian Cotnam, Andrea Woods & Craig Woods. Survived by his sister Valada Johnson, predeceased by his sister Doris Knight. Tommy will be lovingly remembered by all of his family and friends. Thomas Cot­nam was a Royal Canadian Naval Veteran, Royal Canadian Legion Member, Branch 43, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Resting at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the People Church on Saturday July 7th at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Resurrection cemetery. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30pm. Survived by wife Pam(Kehoe), son Brad at home, Robyn(Malcolm) and her husband Roger of Mississauga, and grandchildren Kyle, and Casidhe. Predeceased by brothers Bernard, Bruce, Norm and sister Elizabeth (Hagar). Memorial mass will be at St. Joseph's The Worker Catholic Church, Monday July 9th at 11AM. McRAE, Kenneth Joseph-
(Resident of Oshawa since 1916, Charter member of the St. Gregory’s Knights of Columbus Council and retired General Motors employee.) Born December 22nd, 1908 in Beaverton, Ontario. Peacefully at Extendicare, Oshawa on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2001 in his 93rd year. Dearly beloved husband of Edith (nee Grennon). Loving father of Carol Garrow, Ted and his wife Anne, Rob and his wife Gloria and predeceased by son Kenneth. Survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by sister Alice Jamieson and brothers Chris and Jim. Survived by sisters-in-law Reta McRae and Winnifred McRae.
