BURNS, Elsie -
Peacefully on Tuesday August 21, 2001 at Lakeridge Health Whitby in her 71st year. Elsie, loving mother of Feggy Smith (Dave) of Oshawa, Scott (Alice) of Stouffville, and Chris (Vivian) of Washburn Island. Dear grandmother of Jeff and Brad, Paul, Adam, Michael and Stephen, Ashley and Katie. Dear sister of Anne Lack of Oshawa. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 25th at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa. Memorial donations made to Lakeridge Health Oshawa Cancer Clinic would be appreciated by the family.

BRUMPTON, Alfred -
At his home in Newcastle on Tuesday, August 21, 2001 in his 74th year. Beloved father of Lisanne Brumpton, and Cheryl Guyett and her husband Steve. Proud grandfather of newly arrived Jocelyn Sattira Guyett. Dear brother of Hazel Plumb and her husband Frank. Bill and his wife Betty, Bob, Herb and his wife Agnes, and the late Ed and his wife Edna. Fondly remembered by Sandra and George Sakura, Adeline and Bill Foster (Mom and Pop), as well as many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, August 25, 2001 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Oasis Addiction Recovery Society would be appreciated.

The former Beulah Robinson of Oshawa formerly of Toronto and Chesley in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late James Elwood Fawcett. Loving mother of Dale and his wife Priscilla of Toronto and Dennis and his wife Ela of Oshawa. Lovingly remembered by her three grandchildren Joanna, Matthew, and Tom. Dear sister of Doreen Lowe of St. Catharines. Dear sister-in-law of Muriel Schwandt of Southampton, Ruth Fawcett of Kitchener, Doreen Fawcett of Owen Sound, Gordon and Islay Fawcett, Dorothy Gransden and Robert Trelford all of Tara. Predeceased by two brothers Ralph and John Wesley Robinson. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME Hepworth Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted from the Shallow Lake Community Church Friday afternoon at 1:00 PM. Interment Hillcrest cemetery , Tara. Memorial contributions to the Gideons or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated as your expression of sympathy.

Dear grandmother of 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great- grandchildren. passed away at Lakeridge Health, Whitby on Monday, August 20th, 2001, in his 90th year. Dearly loved husband of the late Carrie (Harris) Arksey. Survived by his sister Rachel Robinson. Predeceased by his sister Helen Thompson and brother Howard Arksey. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Resting at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN, 79 Baldwin Street, Brooklin from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral service in the chapel Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at GROVESIDE cemetery , Brooklin. If desired, memorial donations to Brooklin United Church would be appreciated by the family.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret Elizabeth (Heard). Dear father of Carol Hoy of Strathroy, Patty and Bill Quinn of Denton, Texas and Douglas Germond and Cindy of Millbrook. Also 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Brother of Elizabeth (Betty) Goodchild of Oshawa. Predeceased by 2 sisters Bernice Napper and Sybil Stone and 2 brothers Jack and Bill Germond. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son-in-law Thomas Hoy. Dearly loved Opa of Joshua and Heather; Cara, Jarod and Andrew; Marina, Bethany and Jenna; Rachel and Matthew. Dear brother of Lowell, Thelma, Bert, Rini, Nell and Fred. George was a very active member of Zion Christian Reformed Church. He was also a former member of the County Town Singers and the Oshawa Choral Society. George was instrumental in the inception of Gate 3:16 and Durham Christian Homes. George will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
