MYERS, Rev. John Barry -
Entered into rest at the Scarborough General Hospital on Friday, August 17, 2001. Father John was the beloved son of the late Barry Myers (1962) and Eleanor Simmons (1918) and beloved 'son' of the late Rita Cassidy (1978). Predeceased by an infant sister (1918) and sister, Rev. Sister Catherine C.N.D. (1993). He leaves behind his brother Bill and his wife Margaret, nephews Bill and his wife Leah and John, his niece Mary Anne, great nephews Daniel and David and his great niece Katie all of Pickering. Fondly remembered by his several cousins. Dear friend of Bob Ashmore and his wife Charlene and their family and dear friend of many in Oshawa, Bobcaygeon, Downeyville and Lindsay. Visitation will be held at St. Gertrude's Church, King St., Oshawa on Wednesday from 2:00-9:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial willbe held on Thursday, August 23 at 11:00 A.M. Interment later at Priest cemetery , St. Augustine's Seminary, Scarborough following the Mass and funeral reception. Prayer service will be held in the church on Wednesday evening at 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Scarboro Missions, St. Gertrude's Share Life or the Rose of Durham would be appreciated by the family and can be made at the church or through the STODDART FUNERAL HOME, 24 Mill St., Lindsay K9V 2L1 (toll free 1-877-427-8434)

July 10, 1907 - August 17, 2001. Hans, peacefully at his home, during the early morning hours on Friday, August 17, 2001. Hans in his 95th year. Beloved father of Manfred and his wife Maureen. Very dear friend of Helga Huber. Cremation has occurred. A private family service to be announced at a later time. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to Durham Access to Care. Peacefully passed away in the presence of his family, at the Community Nursing Home, Port Perry, on Friday, August 17, 2001. Michael Vince, beloved husband of Marguerite. Dear father of Norah, Mark, Darlene, and John. Beloved uncle of Norma. NICHOLS, Kale -
Suddenly at the Ajax & Pickering Health Centre, on Thursday, August 16, 2001 at the age of 17. Kale Nichols, loving son of Gary and Leanne. Loving brother of Amber. Grandson of Tom and Phyllis Church, and Ben and Merna Nichols. Words cannot express the loss of our Best Buddy. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax from 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral Service on Sunday, August 19, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at Pickering Village United Church (300 Church Street N., Pickering Village). Beloved husband of Anne. Loving father of Ron and his wife Marilyn, and Ray. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Terry Anne Murrell and her husband Kevin, Michael Bilsky and his wife Maggie, and by his great grandchildren Christine, Jeffrey and Stephanie. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East with Funeral Service in the Chapel on Saturday August 18th, 2001 at 1:00 P.M. Interment MOUNT LAWN MEMORIAL GARDENS. Donations to the Walter and Anne Bilsky Waiting Room X-Ray Dept, Lakeridge Health Oshawa would be appreciated. Visitation 7-9 P.M. Friday.

FRY, Lorraine Isobel (nee Houghton) -
Peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 15th, 2001 after a courage battle with cancer, at the age of 54. Daughter of the late Olive and Arthur Houghton of Wales, U.K. Beloved wife and best friend of John. Much loved mother of Roger (Nicole) and Michelle (Todd). Adored Nana of Maxwell and Spencer. Sadly missed by her sisters Muriel and Evelyn (Tom) of Wales. We will lovingly remember her forever. Grandchildren - Samantha, Jeremy, Shane, Wesley, Blake, Cassidy, Kayla, Shonalee, Michael, Catharine, Kinisha, Danika and Teresa. Brother of Jane, Marie, Harry and brother-in-law of Gordon and June Houting. Predeceased by his parents Adrian and Henrietta Van Vught. A Memorial Service to be held from the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Uxbridge, on Friday, August 17th, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Uxbridge cemetery. BROWN, Irene M. R.N. (Wellesley Class of 1931) -
After suffering a stroke on August 1st, 2001 Irene was finally given her release at 4:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 14th, 2001 at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa. Predeceased by her loving husband William E. Brown (12/06/1909 - 22/10/1996), sister Madeline Arnott (1990), brothers Gordon (1991) and James Kenneth (2001). Survived by sister Kathleen R. Niles and brother Jack D. Clarke (Joan) and will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and extended family. A Private Family Memorial Service was held on Monday, August 20th, 2001.
