Peacefully, at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Friday, August 10th, 2001, Fred Carey, in his 82nd year. Beloved Husband of Jennie Greenfield for 57 years. Dear Father of Irene Perkin and Lewis, Judy Staley and Darrell, Cindy White, and Isabel Carey and Matt all of Oshawa. Loving Grandfather of Robert Perkin, Kristal and Darryl Prouty, Matthew Staley, Marion Ruff, Kimberly Thompson-White and Cole Docherty. Loving great-grandfather of Brooke and Gregory Prouty. Dear Brother of Rosina Ellis of Oshawa. Predeceased by his parents Theodore and Mary Maude Carey, three brothers, Theodore, Raymond and Albert, two sisters Lillian Stapiey and Muriel Guy, and his grandson Lee Clarke Thompson Jr. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Peacefully at home in Whitby on August 10, 2001, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of the late Audrey Fillier. Dear father of Rodney Fillier and his wife Vivienne and Catherine Whitney and her husband Byron. Proud grandfather of Katrina, Aondrea, Robert, Len, and Scott. Survived by his sisters Lilian, Molly, Elsie, Helen, Rita, and brothers Ross, Fred and David. Predeceased by brothers Norm and Ken. Will be sadly missed by many family members, friends, and good neighbours. Especially missed by Bo, Tammy, and Shadow. Friends will be received at the W.C. Town Funeral Home, 110 Dundas St. East, Whitby on Monday, August 13, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. (Royal Canadian Legion Service 7 p.m.). MILLS, Dr. Douglas G. -
Suddenly on August 10th, 2001 at his home in his 70th year, died of a heart attack. Retired consultant at W. C. B. in Nanaimo, B. C., and former surgeon at the Oshawa General Hospital in Ontario. He and his wife moved to Nanaimo from Oshawa in 1990. Predeceased by his father, Dr. Oscar G. Mills, his mother Opal and his sister Dorothy Ross all of Oshawa, Ontario. Survivedby his wife Carol, his sons and their wives, Christopher (Jamie) and Linda, David (Toby) and Laura, and two granddaughters Arden and Mackenzie. Private cremation, no service, by his request. (Veteran W.W. II R.C.N., Retiree Co-Steel Lasco). Peacefully on Friday, August 10th, 2001 at Fairview Lodge, Whitby, in his 83rd year. Dearly beloved husband of Sally. Loving father of Dan of Brockville, Eric and his wife Holly of Michigan, Steve and his wife Rita of Whitby and Kim and her husband John Waddell of Whitby. Cherished grandfather of four, Tamara, Amy, Mark and Kelly. Survived by his brother Bill and his wife Alice of Oshawa, his sisters Ellen of Cobourg and Francis and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Matt. WALKER, Albert Victor -
(Member of the Sydenham Kiwanis Club, Oshawa and Northminster United Church and an employee of General Motors with 34 years service). Peacefully following a brief illness on Friday, August 10th, 2001 at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Gladys Viola (nee Jeffery). Loving father of Robert John of Toronto and Judith Anne Barry of Mississauga. Dear grandfather of Gregory Barry of Toronto. Albert served 9 years (1955-1963) on the Oshawa City Council and was then elected M.P.P. for Oshawa (1963-1967). He ended his career as the Land Titles Registrar for Durham. BAZOWSKY, Michael -
In loving memory of Mr. Michael Bzowsky who passed away at Englehart on Thursday August 9, 2001 in his 92nd year. Long time resident of Oshawa and employee of Herb Robinson Automotive. Mike returned to his roots in Northern Ontario following the death of his first wife, Lena. He is survived by two sons, Gary and his wife, Linda, Dan and his wife Catherine, and one daughter Alicia and her husband Bob Hemington. Lovingly remembered by three grandchildren, Tyler, Troy and David. Will be sadly missed by his wife, Verna, three stepsons, Richard Edwards and his wife Ruth, Wayne and his wife Muriel, Clint and his wife Molly, one stepdaughter, Virginia and her husband Ray Duval. Also remembered by ten step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the McDonald Funeral Home in Englehart, Ontario on Sunday August 12, 2001.

Dear mother of Carol and her husband Jim Raines and Marilyn and her husband Bob DeShane. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Paula. Craig, Emily, Graham and Krysten. Resting at Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, 23 Main Street South on Friday, August 10th, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Interment Foster Memorial cemetery , Uxbridge. Suddenly, at Scarborough General Hospital, after an illness, on Thursday. August 9, 2001. Marion in her 74th year. Dearly beloved sister of May and her husband John Scott, John and his wife Grace Flewwelling, Ruby and her late husband Henry DeMilIe and the late Marguerite Johnson. Sister-in-law of Ken Johnson. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great­nephews. Sadly missed by faniily and friends. BROWN, Irene M. R.N. -
(Wellesley Class of 1931). After suffering a stroke on August 1st, 2001 Irene was finally given her release at 4:30 AM. Tuesday, August 14th, 2001 at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa. Predeceased by her loving husband William E. Brown (12/06/ 1909 - 22/10/1996), sister Madeline Arnott (1990), brothers Gordon (1991) and James Kenneth (2001). Survived by sister Kathleen R. Niles and brother Jack 0. Clarke (Joan) arid will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and extended family. A Private Family Memorial Service was held on Monday, August 20th, 2001. BURGIS, Betty (nee Talbot) -
Betty died peacefully at Centenary Hospital on the 8th of August, 2001 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 84. Beloved wife and best friend of Harold. Loving mother of John and his wife Carol, David and his wife Elaine. Grandma will greatly missed by grandchildren Lisa, Kevin, Julie and Kyle. Betty leaves her sister Edith and many nieces and nephews in England, Canada, Spain and New Zealand. Betty was born near Durham, England and came to Canada as a War Bride to spend her life with Harold a World War II Veteran spending 57 wonderful years of togetherness. The family wish to express a special thanks to all the staff and doctors at Centenary Hospital and especially to the caregivers and nurses of Durham Homecare Program who for 10 years helped Harold take care of Betty at home. Resting at Ronald Martino & Son Funeral Directors, Brock Road Chapel, 1057 Brock Rd., Pickering. The family will receive friends Friday, August 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service and committal on Saturday, August 11 at 3 p.m. Cremation. In Betty's memory, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Ontario Lupus Foundation, 590 Alden Road, Suite 204, Markham ON L3R 8N2 would be appreciated.

Peacefully at Sunnycrest Nursing Home, Whitby on Wednesday, August 8th, 2001. Frank Browning, in his 95th year. Beloved husband of the late Gretta. Dear father of Mary (Mrs. James White) of Whitby and Betty (Mrs. Ronald Hardy) of Oshawa. Predeceased by his son William, survived by his daughter-in-law Jacqueline Browning. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Heather Ferrier and Ian White, Glenn Hardy and Debora Moran, Shawn and Gregory Browning. Great grandfather of Rebecca and Mark Hardy, Tomas and Carrie Moran, and Melissa and Ryan Browning. Predeceascd by his granddaughter Kerry and brothers William and Jack.
