GELLNER, Doris Elizabeth “Dee” -
(CIBC Wood Gundy Employee). After a courageous battle with cancer passed away at the Ajax and Pickering Health Centre at the age of 64. Devoted mother of Craig, and Perry and his wife Lyndee. Proud and loving Grandee of Alexander, Lakota and Dayne. Dear sister of Shirley (Cecil Brownlee) and her family. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. A complete funeral service to be held in the chapel on Thursday, October 18, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. Should family and friends so desire, donations may be made to the Oshawa Humane Society.

AITKEN, Shawn Warren -
Beloved husband of Elizabeth Aitken and devoted father of Charlotte and Daniel of Calgary, passed away peacefully at their home on Monday, October 15, 2001 at the age of 39 years. Shawn was born on February 3, 1962 in Oshawa, ON, and spent all his summers in his beloved PEI. He worked for Health Canada in Ottawa before moving to Calgary in 1993. His wit, wisdom and humanity were treasured by his co-workers at the National Energy Board and lifelong friends across Canada. Shawn is survived by his parents Dixie and Delmar, a sister and brother-in-law Karen and David Howatt, all of Summerside, PEI, and a brother and sister-in-law Mark and Connie Aitken of Oshawa. He will be deeply missed by extended family in Guelph, ON, Oshawa, ON, and PEI. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel", (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Wednesday, October 17, 2001 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway's "Park Memorial Chapel", (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Thursday, October18, 2001 at 3:15 P.M. Loving grandmother of Laurie, Michelyn (Andrew Hannaford) and Nicole. Cherished great-grandmother of Spencer Adam Hannaford. A very dear friend of Ruth Walker and sadly missed by many friends. The Lord took him to His Home on Oct 15th at Hamilton General Hospital. In his 82nd year. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret (Gre) and his children Martha Hough and her husband Warren, Ada Shetler and her husband Dan, Carla Foote and her husband David, and son Rob. Also survived by his grandchildren Rhonda (Ian) Chandra (Tony) Jelinda (Christian) Jon (Holly) Jeff, Josh, Lindsay, Adam and great grandson Ethan. Visitation Wed. Oct 17 from 7-9pm at W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Oct 18 at Hebron Christian Reformed Church. In lieu of flowers donations to a Charity of your choice or Hebron Christian Church would be appreciated.

JURANYI, Nicole -
At Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Monday October 15, 2001. Nicole Juranyi at 56 years of age. Loving mother of Nathalie Dutrisac (Sebastien) and Laszlo Juranyi (Miranda Pattison). Lovingly remembered by her granddaughters Denise and Juliana. Dear sister of Claudette St. Arnaud (Yvon), Jocelyne Mercier (Claude) and Yvon St. Pierre (Lissette). Nicole will be sadly missed by the Giroux family, Carmelle Lauzon, Rita Lacroix, the Goddard family and Lynne Cyr. A Memorial service will be held from Pariosse Assomption de Notre Dame (384 Hillside Ave.) on Saturday, October 20, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated, and may be made through the Armstrong Funeral Home.

KENNEDY, John and Caroline Sophie (Nee Dragomotz) -
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John and Caroline Kennedy. Caroline passed away at the Huronia District Hospital in Midland, on Tuesday October 9th, 2001 at 74 years of age. John passed away at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Monday October 15, 2001 at 78 years of age. Caroline is predeceased by her son George Dragomotz. John is the father of Philip, Jimmy, Steve, Marlene and Joan. Caroline is the sister of Mike Povinsky and his wife Charlene, Frank Povinsky and his wife Marian, and Helen Roter. John is the brother of Bill and Jean. John and Caroline are survived by their granddaughters Adrienne Barron and her husband Bernie, Deanna Dragomotz and Chris Dion, and their daughter in law Beta Dragomotz. John and Caroline will be sadly missed by their many family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held from St. George the Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church on Saturday October 27th at 11 a.m. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made through the Armstrong Funeral Home.

McDowall-Senko, Jill Ruth -
Former Whitby employee. With great sorrow, Lauretta I. McDowall announces on October 14, 2001 the passing of her only child Jill. Jill fought a valiant battle against cancer for 4 years. Jill was born and raised in the Beaches area of Toronto. She moved to Whitby in 1990 due to her marriage to Greg. She spent the last months of her life with her Mom and two super puppies, Cricket and Ashley at Rice Lake, her childhood vacation area, where she learned and taught water skiing. She was 41. Jill had just finished 6 months of chemo. Her Mom would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Princess Margaret Hospital, especially the nurses on 18B, for all their care and dedication during this difficult time. Also all the VON, St. Elizabeth and Access Care Workers for all their T.L.C. during her final months. Donations to Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated. Thank-you all so much Lauretta I.
