MITCHELL, Arthur Henry (Harry) 'Mitch' -
passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 16, 2002. Harry was born April 21, 1945. He is survived by his daughter Dawn; sister Janet (Bill Fiorini) and brother Bruce (Mary); brother-in-law Vernon Bruce and his nephews Michael Fiorini, James and Jason Mitchell. Harry is predeceased by his father Arthur Leslie Mitchell, his mother Annie (Highet) Mitchell and his sister Joan Bruce. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Sunday, March 24, 2002 at 2 p.m. Cremation. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Peacefully at Sunnybrook Medical Centre on Friday, March 15th, 2002, Loree Cathcart in her 65th year. Beloved wife of Earl. Dear mother of Chris, Cary and his wife Cathy, Leah and her husband Wade, Sarah and her husband Daniel. Dear sister of Brian Crawford and his wife Hilda. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Rachel, Jessica, Aaron, Benjamin, Caryn, Colleen and Shawn. The family will receive friends at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE 'Thornton Chapel' 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Monday, March 18th from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 19th from 12 noon until time of memorial service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Memorial donations to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.

ELLICOTT, Phyllis Jean -
Peacefully, after a long illness, on Friday, March 15, 2002, at the Scarborough General Hospital, at age 75. Phyllis (nee Redshaw), beloved wife of Vernon Ellicott of Port Perry. Loved mother of Marion and her husband Neil Jordan of Uxbridge, Gail and her husband Phil Fraser of Arizona, Richard Ellicott and his wife Lyn of Blackstock, Karen and her husband Wayne Maddeaux of Oshawa and the late Keith (1994). Loving grandmother of Brent, Wendi, Jason, Sarah, Jennifer, Nigel, Aaron, Megan and Derek, and great-grandmother of Paul, Bridget and Kylee. Phyllis is survived by her sisters Lillian MacGregor, Marion Taylor and Joyce Norrish and she was predeceased by her brothers Harold and Percy Redshaw and her sister Alma Coates. Relatives and friends will be received at the Wagg Funeral Home, 'McDermott-Panabaker Chapel', 216 Queen Street in Port Perry on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Service to celebrate the life of Phyllis Ellicott will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, March 20th at 1 p.m. with Reverend Richard Hall officiating. Interment MOUNT LAWN Memorial Gardens, Whitby. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Charity of your choice.

KIRKBRIDE, John -
Kirkbride, John - November 12, 1923 to March 15, 2002. John was a WWII veteran of the Algonquin Regiment, wounded in Germany, and a 40-year employee of Canada Post. His many other activities included; doorman and usher at the Civic Auditorium, board member of Information Oshawa, the Mayor's Task Force for the Disabled, Oshawa Folk Arts Council and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43. Beloved son of the late Bill and Nan Kirkbride, husband of Jeanette (Mackie, Kossatz) for the past eighteen years. Former husband of Dorothy. Father of Janet (Les) Bergsma, Robert (Sandy) and Kevin (Christine) Kirkbride, step-father of Scott (Deb) Kossatz, Andrea (Jeff) Young and Shane Kossatz. Former father-in-law of Donna Drake and Paula Kossatz. Grandfather of Stephanie (Mike) Wright, Melissa, Derek, Jennifer, Kristy, Amanda, Jamie and Jeffery Kirkbride, Laurel and Jarrod Bergsma, Joey, Shannon, Angela, Sam, Mikaela and Felicia Kossatz and Lacey and Morgan Young. Great-grandfather of Nichelle, Kaylee and Braedon. John will be greatly missed by many friends and former co-workers.

Dear mother of Olga and her husband David Boyle, Walter and his wife Lynn Michalejko; and Peter. Loving "Baba" to Paul, Mark, Andrea, Julie, Christine and great-grandmother to Owen and Emma. Visitation at The Northcutt Elliott funeral Home, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service in the Chapel 11 a.m. Monday. Interment Bethesda cemetery. NORRIS, Jack Sturdee -
Peacefully at Hillsdale Manor on Friday, March 15th, 2002. Jack in his 88th year. Loving father of Donna Norris. Grandfather of Debbie and her husband Bill Snodgrass of Whitehorse, Brian Wright nad his wife Franca of London, Susan Norris of Houston, and Gordon Norris of Kapuskasing. Great-grandfather of Sarah and Mary Snodgrass and Seth Wright. Father-in-law of Bill Wright and Sharon Norris. Predeceased by his first wife Breanice Hammond (1940), and Margaret Leckie (2000), his wife of 59 years, also his son John (1995), and daughter Betty (1982). Jack, the last surviving member of his family, was the son of George and Lilian Norris and brother of Reginald, Eric, Doris, Cyril and Douglas. Also remembered by sisters-in-law Marguerite Norris, Ethel Norris, Mary Duquette, Jean O’Donnell, Isobel Leckie and brother-in-law Campbell Leckie and his wife Joyce. Jack will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE “Thornton Chapel”, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Monday, March 18th for visitation from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. (Member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. No. 606, Pickering). passed away peacefully on March 14, 2002 at Ajax-Pickering Hospital after a long and arduous battle. Beloved husband of Barbara for 47 years. Caring father of Peter, Violet, Donna, Robert, Judy and Brian. Loving granddad of many. Also survived by his father Harold, brothers Peter and Roger, sisters Pat and Elizabeth.
