Peacefully at home on Thursday, January 12, 2006 in his 87th year. Dear son of the late William Ironside and Margaret Forbes of Scotland and then later Winnipeg. Cherished nephew of the late Bessie. Ron was born in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. His family immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1928. He was educated at the Gordon Schools, Huntly, Scotland, Winnipeg MB Schools, University of Manitoba, Carleton University and MIT. He resided in Ottawa from 1949 where he commenced his career in analytical chemistry at the National Research Council. His interests in languages, photography, music, the arts and his profession were unquenchable. Private arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions to the Isbister Scholarship Fund at the University of Manitoba would be appreciated.

Mother of Lise Smith (Gordon), Denis and Lynne (Pierre Gaudreault). Also loved by her grandchildren Sophie, Ben, Alain and Julie. Peacefully at the Glebe Centre on January 16, 2006 in her 89th year. Daughter of the late H.G. Langford and Emily Langford, predeceased by her sister Ruth Hall Leslie. She will be sadly missed by her niece, Elizabeth Minnes (Jim) and her nephews Grant Leslie (Vickie) and John Lawrie Leslie (Lyn). She will also be missed by her great-nieces and nephews Robyne, Kim, Heather Leslie, Alexandra, and Justin Minnes, Matthew, and Michelle Leslie and step-great niece Lindsay Callan. A private family graveside service to be held at the Beechwood cemetery. Predeceased by his parents Abraham and Dora Lithwick and his brother Harold Lithwick. Norman was a long time resident at Hillel Lodge. A Graveside Service will be held at the Jewish Community cemetery , Bank Street on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. Shiva at Hillel Lodge with visitation on Thursday, January 12, 2006, only, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. Thanks so much to the wonderful caring staff of Hillel Lodge and to the private health care nurses and other attendants from Gem Health Care Services Inc. and the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Ottawa Hospital.
