HOLLAND, Mary –
On May 20, 2002, at the age of 56, died peacefully at home in Newcastle with her family at her side after a long courageous fight. Will be so sadly missed by Guy, her father Sidney, sister Anna, brother Stephen and the rest of her family. A private cremation has taken place. In memoriam, donations may be made to the Charity of your choice through NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME (1-877-987-3964). A generous and caring friend to so many and an inspiration to us all. Gone but never forgotten, and a special message from Mary, which we promised to print….

(Veteran of WW11 N.B. Rangers). Peacefully at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Monday May 20th, 2002. In his 81st year. Beloved husband of Evelyn. Loving father of Eddy and his wife Pat, Allan and his wife Brenda, Brenda and her husband Bill Harford, Karl and his wife Jan, Cheryl and her husband Alan Sproate, Gail and her husband Bob Jordan, Ricky and his wife Adelaine, Randy and his friend Mary, Barry and his wife Wendy, and Charlene. Dear step father of Lynda and her husband Danny Smith, and Michael Ouellette and his wife Sue. Lovingly remembered by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear brother of Beryl and her husband, the late Harry Graham, Jean and her husband Garfield Munson, Norma and her husband Jim West, Shirley and her husband Keith Perry, Phyllis and her husband Ed Robertson, Thelma and her husband Clayton Graham, Margaret and her husband, the late Don Hart, Marilyn and her husband Murray Keefer; predeceased by his brothers Dale and Russell. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 25th, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE "Thornton Chapel" 847 King St. West (905-721 1234). Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment of cremated remains will take place in New Brunswick. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Charity of Choice would be appreciated.

PIERSON, Ellen Harriet -
Peacefully, after a short illness, at Extendicare, Oshawa on Monday, May 20, 2002 in her 104th year. Ellen (Nellie) Pierson, dear mother of Robert Pierson and his wife Dorothy of Peterborough. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Karen Mastervick and her husband George of Brantford, Brenda Sager and her husband Gary of Peterborough and Ken Pierson and his wife Deborah of Oshawa. Sadly missed by 9 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and Nellie's only remaining sister Lillian Cameron (formerly of Parksville, B.C.) nieces and nephews in Ontario, a niece overseas, Gwen Clark, Essex England and many life long friends in Ontario and British Columbia. Nellie was predeceased by brothers Samuel, George and Melvin Wotten and sisters Olive Parfitt and Alice McLean. Nellie requested no service, cremation. Graveside prayers will take place at the Wotton-McLean stone in Union cemetery , Oshawa on Monday May 27, 2002 at 3p.m. with Rev. Cannon Paul Fehely, Rector of St. George's Memorial Church, Oshawa officiating. Donations to the Charity of your choice may be made through the Morris Funeral Chapel, 4 Division St., Bowmanville.

COLLINS, Gerald Norman "Jerry" -
Suddenly, on Sunday, May 19, 2002 at his home in Port Perry, at age 54. Jerry Collins, beloved husband of Marva (nee Shadgett). Proud father of Wade Collins and his wife Amanda. Loving grandfather of Makaela and Connor. Loved son of Norman and the late Florence Collins, stepson of Mary Collins and son-in-law of Eva Brown. Dear brother of Larry Collins, Ken Collins, Neil Collins and his wife Joanne, and Lorraine and her husband Dennis Matt. Jerry will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends and many customers at KCI and his four legged friends Petra and Duke. Relatives and friends will be received at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905 985-2171) on Tuesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate the life of Jerry Collins will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, May 22nd at 11 a.m. with Reverend Robert Le Page officiating. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Community Memorial Hospital Foundation in Port Perry.

DEL GATTO (Paladino), Angela Maria -
Peacefully, after a brief illness, at Lakeridge Oshawa Health Centre, on Sunday, May 19, 2002, in her 83rd year. Beloved wife and mother of the late Antonio and Vincenzo. Beloved and cherished mother of Rosa and her husband Oliviero Sabadin of Whitby, Giacomo and his wife Rosa of Oshawa, Mario and his wife Rose of Whitby, Carolina and Angelo Di Stefano of Hamilton. Loving grandmother of Claudia (Lino), Florella (Brian). Massimo, Tony (Helen), Gino, Gianni (Jennifer), Antony, Angela and Leonardo, Michael and Marilyn. Great grandmother of six children. Loving sister of the late Michele and Donato Paladino. Survived by sisters Filomena Mastrangelo and Maria Vitulli of Italy and brother in law Tony Montagano of Oshawa and many nieces and nephews in bothCanada and Italy. Angela was a very active member of the S. Croce di Magliano Social Club of Durham. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the People Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday May 22nd at 10:30 am. Entombment Resurrection cemetery Whitby. Prayers will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3:30pm. Visitation Monday 7-9pm, and Tuesday 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

Peacefully, on Sunday, May 19, 2002 at his home in Cobourg, at age 77. Owen MacLennan, formerly of Port Perry, is survived by his loving wife Mary (nee Dallyn) and his three sons and their wives, Rod and Cindy of Myrtle Beach, John and Pat of Port Perry and Wayne and Shirley of Brighton. Loved grandfather of Scott, Michael, Josh, Ryan, Steven, Ashley, Adam, and Dallyn. Relatives and friends will be received at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905 985-2171) on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. A Service to celebrate the life of Owen MacLennan will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, May 22nd at 2 p.m. with Michelle Hofman officiating. passed away at Lakeridge Health, Whitby on Saturday May 18th, 2002 in her 98th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Cornelius DeYonge. Much loved mother of Wilhelmina (Willie) and her husband Jack Nesbitt and Mary Maxam. Grandmother of seven and great grandmother of 8. Survived by her sister Impi Hartikainen of Finland. Resting at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN LTD. 79 Baldwin Street Brooklin, Visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday May 23rd. Private family service and interment to follow later. MILLER, Jeffrey Austin -
passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, May 18, 2002, surrounded by his family and friends. Jeff had been fighting a courageous battle with brain tumors, but has finally come to rest. Cherished husband of Jo-Anne, beloved father to Angela and Dan, and Dru. He is also survived by his parents Robert and Shirlie, his brother Stephen, and sister Traci. Jeff was only 48 years old, but he has had a full and meaningful life, living for each moment. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday. The Funeral Service will be held at Pickering Village United Church, 300 Church Street North, Ajax (Pickering Village) on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the West Rouge Canoe Club, 61 Peppertree Drive, Toronto ON, M1C 1Y5, where Jeff spent many happy times. Jeff will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered forever.

Suddenly taken on Saturday, May 18, 2002 in his 30th year. Beloved son of Marilyn and Aiden Renouf. Dear brother of Mark and his wife Gail, Ken and Linda, sister Dale-Ann Flesch and husband Jim. Brother of the late Claude Smith, Lena Rahm and Marjorie Ormiston. A service will be held in the chapel of McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME Ltd., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433 5558) on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. with interment at Hampton cemetery. JOHANSEN, Tove -
We are sad to announce the passing of Tove Johansen, former employee of Whitby Psychiatric Hospital. Surrounded by her family, Tove passed away in her home on May 17th, 2002 after a short battle with cancer. Predeceased by husband Eric Johansen. Tove, loving mother of sons Tom and John Johansen, grandmother to Nicole, Ryan, Rachel, Jason and Todd Johansen, and caring friend to many, will be sadly missed. Special thanks to Debbie for her care and support. The family will receive friends at Town Funeral Chapel in Whitby on Thursday May 23rd, 2002 between 2 and 5pm.
