(Former member of St. Andrew's United Church, Oshawa, Rebekah Lodge No. 3, Oshawa and Whitby Senior Citizens Centres, Volunteer at Hillsdale Manor Tuck Shop, Red Cross Blood Clinics, Bathe Park Association and Ladies Auxiliary and bowled for many years at Motor City Bowling). Peacefully, surrounded by her family at Hillsdale Manor on Wednesday, August 14, 2002, in her 91st year. Daughter of the late Albert and Sarah Crandell. Beloved wife of the late John Moore and Thomas Rorison. Loving mother of Eleanor Game and her husband the late Russell, Margaret Moss and her husband Donald, Lorraine Elliott and her husband the late Ronald, Bruce Moore, Donna Knox and her late infant son Edward Moore. Stepmother of Margaret Owen of Brampton. Lovingly remembered by 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sisters Kathleen Crandell, Blanche Pelow, Dorothy Smith and her brothers Russell, Clarence, Albert, Robert and Douglas. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the McIntosh-Anderson Funeral Home Ltd., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. Interment MOUNT LAWN cemetery , Whitby. Donations made to a Charity of choice would be appreciated

Graduate University of Ottawa 2002, Former student of RS McLaughlin High School. Suddenly, while living life to it’s fullest, on Wednesday August 14, 2002 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 22. Ian, beloved son of Robert and Susan Whyte loved brother of Jennifer. Dear grandson of Gloria Whyte and Irene Martin. Ian will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family and many dear friends. A memorial service to celebrate Ian’s life will be held on Saturday August 17 at Hampton United Church (Old Scugog Road, Hampton) at 3pm. Visitation at the church from 2pm. passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on August 13, 2002; beloved wife for 59 years of George Eugene of Whitby; dear mother of Gene (Gillian) of Oshawa and Thomas (Donna) of Edmonton; devoted grandmother of Gene (Karen) of Oshawa, Thomas (Sharon) of Courtice and Brian of Ottawa; fond great-grandmother of Katherine, Creighton and Hannah. Survived by her brothers, Tom (Terry) of Pte. Claire, Sam (Lil) and Al (Ina) of Toronto and Henry (Maureen) of Aurora; predeceased by sisters Dorothy and Isabel and brother Bill. Special aunt of Ovila (Joyce) Lamarche and Jeanne (Roger) Riberdy. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral at St. John the Evangelist Church, 903 Giffard Street, Whitby on Friday, August 16, 2002 at 10 a.m. Interment at Resurrection cemetery , 355 Taunton Road East, Whitby. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Peacefully at Scarborough Grace Hospital on August 13, 2002 in her 63rd year. Beloved wife of Bill Landon. Dear mother of Kym Sinclaire, Tanya Sinclaire, Guy Sinclaire, Trevor Sinclaire, Kyle Sinclaire, Julie Landon and Laurie Krolicki. Proud Grandmother of seven wonderful Grandchildren. A service will be held at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel 110 Dundas St.E., Whitby on Friday August 16th, 2002 at 11 am. Visitation 1 Hour prior to service. Cremation. The family would like to take this opportunity to especially thank the nurses, doctors, and staff of Scarborough Grace Hospital for all their care and support.

MUIR, Isabelle -
passed away at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre on Tuesday, August 13th, 2002 at the age of 82. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she was daughter of late Frank and Annie (McLeod) Rogers. Predeceased by her husband Frederick C. Muir in 1975, Isabelle will be sadly missed by her children Frank, Haviland, Ronald and June Muir-Duffy. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Cindy, Jeanette, Frankie, Lianne, Melisa and Sommer, her great grandchildren Jennifer and Christopher and by her two sisters Betty Hills of Caledonia and Helen Widdecombe of Whitby. Predeceased by her sister Berniece Tomlinson of Bowmanville. A funeral service was held at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Thursday, August 15th with Gary Clarke officiating. Interment took place at MOUNT LAWN Memorial Gardens in Whitby.

RICHARDSON (Nee St. Andrew), Marion Lenora -
The last of her family, Marion Lenora Richardson died August 13th, 2002 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa following a brief illness. Marion was born February 11, 1926 in Oshawa and is the beloved wife of the late Donald Leslie Richardson (December 2, 1995), the daughter of the late Mary Mabel (Nee: Law) and Joseph St. Andrews. Loving mother of Allin Wayne and his wife Susan Elizabeth (Nee: Aldred), Mark Steven, Donna Lenore and her husband Kevin Darwin Bickell. Cherished grandma of Jennifer Leanne Richardson, Daniel Wayne Richardson and Nanny to Leila Michelle Bickell. Also survived by her brother-in-Law Arthur Joseph Pitman and sister-in-law Lorna May (Nee: Singer) and sister-in-law Beulah May St. Andrews (Nee: Puffer). Predeceased by her brothers & sisters Mary E. St. Andrews (1903-1903), Dorothy Irene Andrews (1905-1999) (John Frederic), Josephine Mabel Little (1908-1990) (William Reginald), Thomas Charles, Douglas St. Andrews (1911-1980) (Marion Nee: Kennedy), Archie Hubert St. Andrews (1915-1915), Joseph Geoffry St. Andrews (1916-1983) (Frances Roberta Nee: Owen), Ruth Alice Winnifred Prothero (1919-1993) (David Carleton: Joe), David Leslie St. Andrews (1921-2001), William Kenneth St. Andrews (1925-1998) (Mary Anne Nee: Recalla). Marion was an avid goIfer enjoying her time on the course with all the wonderful ladies of Country Lane GoIf Course. Marion. achieved one of her goals of a hole in one on the 14th hole September 17, 1985. Marion will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received at Thornton cemetery Chapel, 1200 Thornton Rd. N., Oshawa on Thursday August 15, 2002 from 10 am until service time at 11 am. (Retired employee Oshawa General Hospital; Member of Club 505 Kingsview United Church). After a lengthy illness at Lakeridge Health Corp. Whitby, on Tuesday, August 13th, 2002, Kathleen, in her 85th year. Beloved and devoted wife of the late Wesley Arnold Sprague. Loving mother of Linda Kathleen Pike. Grandmother of Tom and Deb Thompson. Fondly remembered by great-grandchildren Jake and Amber-Lynn Thompson. Sister of David Hughes-Hallett (deceased) and his wife Maureen. Longtime friend to Carol and Slaters of Arizona. Fondly remembered by Cindy, Mark, Alex and Eric. WATTS, Urban-Roy -
(Life Member of the Newcastle Lions Club and former member of the Agincourt Lions Club, Roy has been a dedicated Lion since 1952). Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Whitby on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, in his 86th year. Born in Toronto, he was the son of the late Harry Watts and Myrtle McEwan. Brother of the late William Harry Watts and Jessie Watts. Sadly missed by his cousin Larry Burt of Port Perry. Uncle of David Watts of Beaverton and Richard Williams of Scugog. Friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. (just north of 401 at the lights) on Thursday, August 15, from 2-4 p.m., with a Lions Service to be held that evening at 7:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 7:30 p.m. Cremation with interment in the family plot of St. John’s Norway cemetery , Toronto, at a later date. If so desired, donations in Roy’s memory may be made to the Lions Foundation.

WOODLEY, Cyril George -
passed away in Leicester, England on August 13, 2002 in his 89th year. Predeceased by his wife Jessie. Loving father of Margaret (John), Ruth (Andrew) and Lucy (Gary) of England and Richard (Rita) of Oshawa. Will be greatly missed by his grandsons David, Dan and Michael Woodley.

AVERY, Norman Francis -
At Home in Bobcaygeon on Monday August 12th, 2002. Norm Avery formerly of Bowmanville was in his 87th year. He was the beloved husband of Joan Avery of Bobcaygeon. Dear father of Gloria and her husband Jack Brown of Hampton, Norma and her husband Andy Dumouchel of Newcastle, Valerie Clancy of Gores Landing, Wayne and his wife Leslie Avery of Bowmanville, Dale Avery of Cayman Islands, Debbie and her husband Joe Donadel of Newcastle and Ross predeceased. Remembered by his daughter in law Sharon Avery of Bobcaygeon. Lovingly remembered by his fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Dear brother of Clarence and his wife Merle Avery of Bowmanville, Mildred and her husband Robert Wilson of Oshawa and predeceased by Harold, Rene, Effie, Roy, Cyril, Howard, Lawrence. Norm served in the R.C.A.F. during W.W.#2 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #178 Bowmanville. She will be lovingly remembered by good friend and sister-in-law Marie Ashton. REX, Mervyn Frank (Muggs) -
passed away peacefully on Monday August 12, 2002 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Ann (Foster) of Bowmanville, formerly of St. Thomas and Woodstock. Loving father of Ken and his wife Anne, Ruth Ann Michaud and her husband Ray and Donna Rex and her husband Mario Vasilkovs. Proud grandfather of Michael Michaud and his wife Jennifer, Lynn Mottershead and husband Jason, Christopher Michaud, Bryan Rex and Elizabeth Vasilkovs. Great grandfather of to Savannah Michaud. Survived by his sister Ruth Calwill of London, Ontario. Pre-deceased by his sister Dorothy and brothers Bill and Ted. "Muggs" proudly served 6 years in the Royal Canadian Navy in the North Atlantic during World War II as a signalman 1st Class. He would be happy to know that someone may see due to the generous gift of his eyes. A private family service entrusted to the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel Whitby, Ontario. Interment will take place at a later date in Woodstock, Ontario. The family would like to thank the many wonderful caregivers at the Bowmanville Hospital and Dr. Anthony Stone. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lung Association, the Arthritis Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Peacefully at home on Monday August 12th, 2002. Allan, in his 64th year. Beloved son of the late William and Blanche Swinson. Life companion of Lorraine. Loving brother of Howard Swinson and his late wife Joyce, Lloyd Swinson and his wife Julie, Mildred Rout and her husband Alex, Gary Swinson and his wife Debbie, and the late Dora Crowells and her husband Edward.
