Suddenly in Oshawa on Thursday August 15, 2002 in his 7Oth year. Predeceased by his wife the late Patricia Mary. Loving father of Susan, Michael and Christine. Brother to Gordon Brown of New Glasgow. Loving grandpa to his grandcats, granddog and grandbird. Ron was a CGA and spent much of his career in the service of the Ontario Ministry of Finance. In his later years, he very much enjoyed his thriving used book business and was an active member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Oshawa. A lifelong athlete, running marathons in his early years, he later continued to participate in Golf, Curling, Hockey and Baseball. His last moments were spent happily on the diamond, as a valued player with the Oshawa Seniors Baseball Team. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, with whom he found much happiness. Special thanks to Dan Adams and team members for their CPR efforts and to Lorraine Hammett of Oshawa for being there and bringing such joy into his life during the last 6 months. Also very proud of her 8 grandchildren Dan (CaroIyn, Matthew), Nancy, Charlene, Brian Jr., Erin, Chelsea, Brandon and Evan. So many happy memories of birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, academic and athletic achievements. Nancy glowed with pride for each one of them, her family meant everything to her and they all loved her so dearly. She impressed everyone she met with her extraordinary grace and dignity. She never complained about the unbelievable pains of the Past few months and always answered questions about her health with “I’m doing fine, don’t worry about me”. She is now with the Angels in Heaven because she is one of them now, right Charlene!! We can just see her looking down on us with that very special smile. Goodbye my love until we meet again.
