Anne, loving mother of Carol and her husband Jack Falkner, Patricia and her husband John Hodges, Robert, and David. Dear Grandmother of Michael, Brian, Catherine, Matthew, and Ben. Survived by her sister Dorothy Johnson. A private family service will be held. Cremation to take place. W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby

The family is sad to announce that Alex suddenly passed away on August 17, 2002, at the Ajax Pickering Hospital, at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Beryl. Loving father to Derek and his wife Donna, David and his wife Tracy, Gayle and her husband Raymond Wray. Cherished grandfather to David, Leif, Cameron, Kyle, Mark, Lisa and Nicole. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2002, at Dunbarton-Fairport United Church (1066 Dunbarton Rd., Pickering) at 10:00 a.m. Interment Salem cemetery. BROWN, Ronald Murray -
Suddenly in Oshawa on Thursday August 15, 2002 in his 7Oth year. Predeceased by his wife the late Patricia Mary. Loving father of Susan, Michael and Christine. Brother to Gordon Brown of New Glasgow. Loving grandpa to his grandcats, granddog and grandbird. Ron was a CGA and spent much of his career in the service of the Ontario Ministry of Finance. In his later years, he very much enjoyed his thriving used book business and was an active member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Oshawa. A lifelong athlete, running marathons in his early years, he later continued to participate in Golf, Curling, Hockey and Baseball. His last moments were spent happily on the diamond, as a valued player with the Oshawa Seniors Baseball Team. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, with whom he found much happiness. Special thanks to Dan Adams and team members for their CPR efforts and to Lorraine Hammett of Oshawa for being there and bringing such joy into his life during the last 6 months. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Mass of Christian Burial from St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church on Wednesday August 21st, 2002 (time to be announced) . COLLIE, Nancy (nee Carroll) -
Born December 20, 1932, passed away to her well-earned Heavenly reward on Thursday, August 15, 2002. Loving wife of husband Ash for 48 years, very proud ond loving mother of Ashley Jr., Cheryl (Brian), Sandra (George), Andrew (Kim), Christopher (Nancy) and David. Also very proud of her 8 grandchildren Dan (CaroIyn, Matthew), Nancy, Charlene, Brian Jr., Erin, Chelsea, Brandon and Evan. So many happy memories of birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, academic and athletic achievements. Nancy glowed with pride for each one of them, her family meant everything to her and they all loved her so dearly. She impressed everyone she met with her extraordinary grace and dignity. She never complained about the unbelievable pains of the Past few months and always answered questions about her health with “I’m doing fine, don’t worry about me”. She is now with the Angels in Heaven because she is one of them now, right Charlene!! We can just see her looking down on us with that very special smile. Goodbye my love until we meet again. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral, 28 Old Kingston Road, Pickering Village, Ajax from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2002. A Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church (796 Ever Dr., Pickering), on Monday, August 19, 2002 at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection cemetery (355 Taunton Rd. E., Whitby, Ont.). Reception to follow at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church Hall. ln lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Former teacher at St. Gregory's School Oshawa; veteran of World War 11; graduate of Queen's University; and loved and respected teacher at Northview Heights C.V.I. for many years. Beloved husband of Sara (MacDonald), brother of Eileen (Conlin) of Oshawa, Bill Kinlin ofLincoln Park Michigan, and Marion (Dalby) of Oshawa. Missed by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Stephen and Edna Kinlin. Predeceased by his first wife Marie (Heath); brothers Lawrence, Thomas and James and sister Anne(O'Connor). Cremation in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. On Wednesday, August 14, 2002, Marijtje Korte passed away in her 88th year, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Bowmanville. Marijtje was the wife of the late Daniel Korte. The family had emigrated from the Netherlands to Canada in January 1952. Loving mother of Mary Bik (David LaRocque) of Hamilton, Betty Dougherty of Whitby and Daniel (Ardyth) of Bowmanville. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Jeffrey Bik, Michelle Bik (Serge), Kelly Dougherty, Michael Dougherty, McKenzie Korte, Reuben Korte and great-grandchildren Anna Dougherty, Merrick Dougherty, Mathieu Bellemare and Sebastian Bellemare. Dear sister of Rietje (Berend) Plant-Bood, Adrian (Cok) Bood, Meis (Gerard) Bander-Bood, Harmen (Jo) Bood, Garmond Bood, Mina Borger-Bood, Marrie (Wil) Nieuwenhuys-Bood and the late Jan Bood, PietBood, Henk Bood, Marten Bood, Nely Nieuwehuys-Bood and Gerrit Bood.
