Quietly at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Vivian (nee Larock). Dear father of Garfield (Brenda) of Ottawa and Andrew of Toronto. Loving brother of Dudley (Pat) and Frieda Abbinett and predeceased by his siblings Audrey Lewis, Balfour (Ruth), Cora White, Geddes (Audrey), Virginia, and Iola Armstrong. Grandfather to Mark Casserly. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Service in the Chapel on Monday, February 13, 2006 at 11:30am followed by a reception. Interment Beechwood cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzhiemer's Society.

Retired Dollco Printing Veteran WWII, 2nd Div. Canadian Army Kinsman (45 years). Red Pine Camp (50 years). Peacefully at the Hospice at May Court on February 5, 2006 at the age of 85. Beloved husband for 57 years of Joan (nee Elliott). Dear father of Bruce and Ross. Cherished grandfather of Kalla. Also survived by his three brothers Frank (Winn), King, and Jim (Ollie) and his two nieces and three nephews. Don was a highschool athelete and a former Canadian rowing champion. Don served overseas during WWII from 1940-45 in the Canadian Artillary. He was a kinsman for over 45 years, serving as President in 1956-57 and Deputy Governor in 1959-60. Don was a perennial paddle tennis champion at Red Pine Camp following a pattern established in earlier years at Golden Lake Boys Camp in the 1930's. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St. on Friday, February 10, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Saturday February 11, from 12 noon until the Service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Beechwood cemetery at a later date. Fitzpatrick. Loved mother of Kathleen Saunders, Ottawa, ON, Stephen (Elaine), Swift Current, SK, Jay (Solange), Vancouver, B.C., Brady, Sheenboro, PQ, Matthew (Christine) Edmonton, AB, and James (Lana) Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Predeceased by daughter Erin, grandson Kyle, sisters Rhoda, Sheila, Arlie and brother Harry. Loved grandmother of Shannon, Kimberley, Chelsea, Ryan, Adam, Natalie, Kane, Reilly, Devon, Brett, Kaitlyn and Kieran and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brother Noel. Jean served 20 years in the Canadian Corps Commissionaires. Cherished Avo of Stephanie and Kimberly Fortunato and Joy Morawski. Also survived by his extended family here in Ottawa and in Portugal. Visitation will be held at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Monday, February 20, 2006 and Tuesday, February 21, 2006 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Senhor Santo Christo Roman Catholic Church, 1100 Kenaston Street on Wednesday, February 22nd at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Notre Dame cemetery. Maurie Jorre de St. Jorre was born on April 20, 1956 in Vancouver, B.C., died on February 14, 2006 in Wakefield, Quebec and will be missed every day by his wife Susan Brown and his children Adrian and Ariel. Maurie was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Dorothy and is survived by brother Philip (Lynn), sister Julie Savard, nephews Dominic Savard, Matthew Brown, Nicholas Jorre de St. Jorre, aunts Ariel (Jack) Merner, Jacqueline Bouchard and Elizabeth Grassick, cousins including Christie (Penny) Sinclaire and in laws including mother-in-law Elizabeth Brown. Maurie worked at the Privy Council Office with Canada's most talented and committed public servants and political staff and was so proud to have been allowed the privilege of contributing to the government of Canada. Maurie loved his family, friends, cooking and entertaining, his garden in Chelsea, Quebec and baseball. Maurie's favourite pastimes were coaching Adrian's baseball team, which he did for many years, and driving all over Quebec from Mont Laurier to Fort Coulonge to Montreal to watch Adrian and Ariel play hockey, soccer and rugby. He had an incisive and irreverent wit, you were lucky not to get caught in the cross fire, counterbalanced by his enormous generosity and hospitality. Maurie was diagnosed with brain cancer in September 2004, he fought his illness heroically and received outstanding and compassionate care from so many including neurosurgeon Dr. Lieu at CHVO, Gatineau, neuro-oncologist Dr. Fortin and nurse Marie Boudria at CHUS, Sherbrooke, all the palliative care staff at CHGM, Wakefield and home care workers Karen and Ken of Casa Mia, Wakefield. The family would like to express its heartfelt thanks to all Maurie's friends and colleagues who visited, sent cards and gifts and supported us throughout Maurie's illness. WWII Veteran-Served in the European Theatre, Holland, Belgium, France and Germany passed away very peacefully on Thursday, February 16th, 2006 at the Perly Rideau Veterans Health Centre in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Margaret Tunks and best mate of 62 years. Loving father of the late Maureen, Laurie, Sheila (Michael), Glenn and Peter (Sherry). Special grandfather to Gaelan and Jared. Brother of Kathleen (Frank), Eldreda (Douglas) and Berry (Evelyn). Predeceased by his siblings Thelma, John, Robert, William and Audrey. George honoured his commitment and loyalty to his family through his love and decency. Foe many years he was a member of the Highlands Golf Club and Uplands Curling Club. A Memorial Service in his honor will be held at ST. Richard s Anglican Church, 8 Withrow Avenue, Ottawa on Saturday, February 25th, 2006 at 11a.m..
