September 4, 1934 - February 15, 2006 On the eve of her death, Anita Philippe, at the age of 71, was surrounded by her family. On this night, for a precious hour or two, there were no tears. Those who knew her best encircled her bed and as a group, drew close to the woman they loved dearly. They held her hands, rubbed her feet, and offered what physical comfort they could. Anita, without uttering a word, had drawn them together yet again, as she had so often. Those who were there shared stories of their lives. It was as if, for the last time, they were sitting around Anita's dining room table, happy, warm, safe and secure. Anita Philippe died well loved around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, less than 2 years after her beloved husband Don. She was an angel, and will be lovingly remembered by her children Kim (Vic Jardine), Darlene (Ron Unruh), Mark (Martine Larocque) and Christine (Rob Warner); and her grandchildren Jessica, Adam, Luke, Sara, Jacob, Brianne, Zakary, Lyndon and Keegan. Dear sister-in-law of Doreen (Brian Brash), Roy Philippe (Susan) and mother-in-law Elena Lainesse. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Anita worked for 25 years at St. Patrick's Home of Ottawa, caring for those who couldn't care for themselves.
