Edwards, Barbara Ann

passed away with her family by her side at Lakeridge Health, Port Perry on Friday August 17, 2012. Barb Edwards dearly beloved wife of Ray Edwards of Port Perry. Loving mother of Jennifer, Kyle, Courtney and Samantha. Dear daughter of Gerri and Ken Howitt and sister of Jeff Jaques. Family and friends were received at the Low & Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach St., Port Perry, (905) 985-7331 on Tuesday August 21, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service took place at the Anglican Church Of The Ascension, 266 North St., Port Perry on Wednesday August 22, 2012 at 2 p. m. Interment Pine Grove cemetery , Prince Albert. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre would be appreciated.

Chin-a-Loy, James

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of James, fondly known as Jim, Uncle Jimmy and Dad on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Parkview Home in Stouffville, Ontario, surrounded by his family and caring staff. James, the beloved son of the late James and Ruth Chin-A-Loy, was born in Georgetown, British Guiana and made his way to Toronto, Canada in 1967. This is where he met his wife Carol and started a family, having 3 boys Christopher, Andrew and Kevin. They built their dream home in Brooklin, Ontario where they lived for 25 years, while James built a successful career, serving as a professional Accountant in the Canadian Government for 37 years. He will be fondly remembered for his generosity, kindness and easygoing approach. He was an avid reader and enjoyed applying his knowledge to personal development, home renovation and business challenges. He also loved anything sweet…along with movies, travelling and discussing business and current events with family and friends. He was the loving brother to Harold (Shirley), Percy (Gwen), Ruby, David (Carol), Marge (John), Terry (Norman) and Diane (Bruno). He was predeceased by Stella, Joyce, Alyse, Yvonne and Dee, and will be sadly missed by numerous friends, nephews, nieces and their children.A memorial ceremony was held at the Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S., Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 3p.m. with visitation from 2p.m. until service time. The celebration of James’ life continued directly afterward at the family home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in memory of James can be made at the funeral home or online at www.alzheimer.ca to support all types of dementia research and care.

Roy, Robert

November 30, 1954 - August 12, 2012

passed away at Lakeridge Health, Port Perry from a sudden heart attack on Sunday evening August 12. Rob was the beloved father and best friend of Lindsey, life partner and soul mate of Cyndie, stepfather of Tony and Ornella, acting stepfather of Caitlin and Megan, grandpa of Mackenzie, Ethan, Austin and Kiera, brother of Yvan (and Jennifer), uncle of Joshua, Jordan and Breanne, beloved son Reina and dear friend to many. He will be lovingly remembered for his smile, his contagious laugh and his sharp wit.Generous to the core, he always put others needs ahead of his own, ensuring Lindsey, Reina, Cyndie and the many others in his life were cared for and loved. Family and friends were invited to celebrate Rob's life on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Low & Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach St., Port Perry (905) 985-7331. Visitation took place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 a.m. A reception followed the service. In lieu of flowers , donations may be made in Rob’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

McDonald, Melva
(nee Long)

On Monday, August 6, 2012 in Oakville. Melva, beloved wife of the late Bruce McDonald, formerly of Uxbridge. Mother of Beth Cornell (Craig) of Guelph and grandmother of Kim Cornell of London and Laurie Cornell of Guelph. Melva was a daughter of the late Oscar and Hettie Long of Uxbridge and sister of Doris Hamilton (John), Pearl Long and Laura Long (all deceased). As per her wishes, cremation has taken place with inurnment in Uxbridge cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge (905) 852-3073. In memory of Melva, please consider a donation to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.

Podpora, Czeslaw (Chester)
October 3, 1948 – August 5, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother Chester, in his 64th year. Predeceased by his parents Jessie and Stanley Podpora and brother Bill. He will be greatly missed by his son Andre (Judy) and wife Susan along with his brothers and sisters Jean Hughes (Bonnie Hughes), Stanley (Linda), Wally (Debbie), Pauline Snoddon (Ray), Ian (Sue), Charlotte Pase (Ernie) and Helen Harte (Colin). Along with numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Harrison, Janice

passed away suddenly in Sandford on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the age of 56. Predeceased by her husband Ron and her parents Wilbert and Dorothy Welsh. Loving mother of Lisa. Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Friday, August 10, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service took place in the chapel on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment Sandford cemetery. (nee Perry)

Cancer Didn’t Win God Ran Out Of Patience

passed away on Friday August 3, 2012 at Lakeridge Health, Port Perry after a lengthy, but courageous battle with cancer. Just shy of her 6oth birthday, Gayle is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Kenneth Pelrine. Her sons, Clifford and fiancé Lee-Anne, Blain and his wife Jessica. Loving Nan to Ryan, Torie, Christopher, Andrea, Jordan and Lucas. Little sister to Carol Evans (nee Perry) and Georgie Perry (aka Don) and his wife Robyn. Affectionately known as Auntie Gayle, everybody’s favourite aunt, she will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Remembered with fond affection by Rusty, Deb, Toad, Shanon, Billers, Tracy, Jennifer, Bryan, Megan, Tammy, Paul, Brianna and Acadia. Cherished daughter-in-law to Mildred Mawhinney. Family and friends were invited to share their fond memories and stories about the joy Gayle brought into their lives at a Celebration of Gayle’s Life Ceremony. The Ceremony took place on Friday August 17, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Scugog Arena (aka Port Perry Arena), 1655 Reach Street, Port Perry, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations for the Princess Margaret Lodge will be accepted at this time. Also, family and friends are encouraged to donate blood at any Canadian Blood Services in honour of Gayle.

passed away at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in his 82nd year. Predeceased by his cherished wife Marjge. Loving father of Jean (Tom Paisley), Mary (Rob Evans), Brian (Sandi) and Nancy (Bentley Harsell). Proud grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 3. passed away surrounded by his loving family at Bon Air Residence, Cannington on his 83rd birthday, Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Predeceased by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Esther (nee Babin). Loving Dad to Sandra Morrison, Brenda (Randy) MacPherson, Dina (Louis) Cunnington and Wayne (Gina) Bernier. Dear Grandpa to Jamie, Nicole, Danny, Brandon, Natalie, Julia, A.J., Jacqueline, Annalyse, Julienne, Sophia and Audrey. Very special Great-Grandpa to Olivia and Jake. Romeo will also be sadly missed by his sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. Friends and family were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach St., Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Saturday, August 4, 2012 for a memorial visitation from 9a.m. until 10:45a.m. A Funeral Mass followed directly afterward at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog St., Port Perry at 11a.m. Romeo's family will make the trip down east to New Brunswick where his ashes will be interred with his wife Esther. passed away at the Bloomington Cove Nursing Home on Monday, July 30, 2012 in her 72nd year. Gloria, cherished wife of Bob for 45 years. Loving mother of Connie Barnes (Tim) and Karen Smith (Andrew). passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry. Lynn dearly beloved partner of David Carter of Sunderland.
