Deval, Randall “Randy”

passed away on Sunday, December 11th, 2011 at the age of 57. Friends and family were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Rd., Port Perry (905 985-7331) for a memorial service on Sunday, December 18th at 2p.m. with visitation for one hour prior. A private family interment to take place at a later date. In memory of Randy, please consider a donation to the World Wildlife Fund.

Blake, Graham James

passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side on Saturday, December 10th, 2011 at the age 59. Will be deeply missed by his loving family; wife Mary, daughter Jessica Lucyk (Jim), son Matthew, daughter Lydia Mayotte (Daryl), grandchildren Cole and Elizabeth Lucyk and Brody Mayotte. Lovingly remembered by his sister Laurie (Wally), brother Stephen (Gaynor), sister Leesa (Ian) sister Leslie (Kevin), his brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Calvin and Bette and brother Stuart. Friends and family were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Rd., Port Perry (905-985-7331) for visitation on Wednesday, December 14th from 6-9p.m. Funeral service was held in the chapel on Thursday, December 15th at 11a.m. with visitation for one hour prior. Interment followed at Pine Grove cemetery , Prince Albert. In memory of Graham, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity important to you.

Bowles, Ronald William (Balsy)

Died peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2011 in his 62nd year at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Loving son of the late Robert and Doris Bowles of Toronto. Loving brother to the late Helen Venedam (Bowles). Survived by sister Norma Bowles of Uxbridge and brother-in-law Mike Venedam of Uxbridge. He will be sadly missed by nephews Ron Venedam (Sue) of Uxbridge, Wayne Venedam (Kerri) of Greenbank, Mark Venedam (Christa) of Oshawa and niece Elizabeth (Bussie) Underwood of Uxbridge and Mike Venedam (Tania) of Sandford. Survived by great nieces and great nephews Carly, Alison, West, Logan, Hayden, Michelle, Troy, Madilynn, Trent, Taya and Beau. There will be a celebration of life held at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 170 (109 Franklin St. Uxbridge) on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge (905) 852-3073.

Boyce, Degory John

Our dear Degory went to be with his Lord and Saviour on December 3rd, 2011. He grew up in Port Perry, attending S.A. Cawker, R.H. Cornish, and Port Perry High School, before attending McMaster University and graduating with high honours from the Commerce program. His family deeply greives the loss: his parents John and Susan Boyce, siblings Jeremy and Heather Boyce (of Texas), Sarah and Graeme Powell, and Rebecca Boyce, grandmother Margaret Boyce, aunts and uncles David and Carolyn Johnson, Ronnie and Tessie Dempster, Margaret Merry, George and Garlene Boyce, Larry Boyce and Carol Anne Fitz-Robb Boyce, and Ellen and Jim Bailey, and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial to celebrate Degory's life was held at Trinity Pentecostal Church at 900 King St. E. in Oshawa, at 11 am on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011. A reception followed at Evangel Pentecostal at 374 Farewell St., Oshawa. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Oshawa Community Church, or to Joyce Meyer's Hand of Hope Ministry.

Peers, Gail Jean (nee Robinson)

Of Udora, died at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston, December 1, 2011 with both her daughters by her side. Predeceased by husband Reg Peers. Loving mother of Laura Peers (Drew) and Jennifer Moore (Roger). Devoted grandmother of Emily and Carter Moore. Loving sister of Lynn Blanchard (Wes, deceased) and Paul Robinson (Katherine). Fashion model; founding member of ACTRA; women’s rights activist; librarian: Gail was a brilliant, funny woman who loved her family and community, music, the arts, and the beauty of the outdoors. The family extend their deepest thanks to the staff at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Beeton Manor, and Southlake Village who cared for her so compassionately during her final months, and to friends and family for support. Friends and family will be received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S., Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Saturday, January 7, 2012 for visitation from 1-3p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Udora United Church on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital or Stevenson Memorial Hospital.

McNalley, Nadine Ruth

After a lengthy and courageous 6 year battle with genetic heart disease, Nadine passed away peacefully at the Toronto General Hospital on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the age of 46. Beloved daughter of Jamie and Sharon Belfry. Loving mother of Brendan, Ryan and Courtney. Cherished sister of Deane (Kelley-Anne), Lynette (Pascal), Laurene (Jason) and Scott (Rebecca). Nadine will be missed by many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Our heartfelt thanks to the transplant team and caring staff at Toronto General Hospital. A Memorial Service was held at the Uxbridge Baptist Church (231 Brock St.) on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 3 p.m. with visiting one hour prior. Reception followed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trillium Gift of Life Network or the Gideon Bible Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge (905) 852-3073.

passed away at the Lakeridge Health Hospital Port Perry after a brief struggle with cancer on Monday, November 28, 2011 in his 86th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Doris and his loving sister Verna. Cherished father of Earla (Doug) and Robert (Kathleen), nephews Keith (Janet), Ken (Sandra), George (Barb) and Randy (Debbie), nieces Sandy (Shawn) and Carol (deceased). Proud Poppa of Tyler, Nadine and Deanna. A visitation was held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach St. Port Perry (905) 985-7331 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service took place in the chapel on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 11 a.m. Reception followed. Interment Greenbank cemetery. If so desired, donations may be made to the Uxbridge/Scugog Animal Shelter or a charity of choice.

Hie, Mervin Reginald

passed away on Sunday, November 27th, 2011 in his 69th year after a courageous battle with cancer. Loved son of the late Reg and Alice Hie of Lindsay. Beloved father of Tina Dembowski (Bill) and Wayne Hie. Loving partner to Donna for the past 8 years. Cherished grandfather to Bradley and Micheala Dembowski. Brother to Gerald (Donna) of Orangeville, the late Geraldine Hie, Dwaine (Linda) of Orillia, Barbara Ann Keenan (Mike) of Lindsay and Sharon Chayko (Rick) of Orillia. Loving uncle to 10 nieces and nephews. Fun pal “Mervie” to Matthew and Emilie Ross of Belleville. Mervin will also be fondly remembered by Michael and Kien of Toronto as well as Jennifer and Denis of Belleville. Friends and family were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S., Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Friday, December 2, 2011 for visitation at 10a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 11a.m. Interment followed at Uxbridge cemetery. passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2011 in her 88th year. Cherished mother of James Edward (Deborah), Donald William (the late Sherry), Gail Elizabeth (Wynford Rees) and the late Barbara Lyn. Beloved grandma of Jason, Jennifer, Jaclyn, Carly and Dylan. Predeceased by her loving sister Betty Wright. A Memorial Service was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. Reception followed.

Briggs, Jean Lorraine “Lori”

passed away peacefully from her battle with cancer on Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Neil for 35 years and loving mother of Colin (Kara) and Scott (Melissa). Lori will be missed by her brothers Paul (Margaret) and John (Jennifer) and nieces and nephews Jeffrey (Lucy), Julie, Spencer, Daniella, Jean-Paul, Michel, Robert and Mark. Predeceased by her parents and sister, Ann. Lori will be fondly remembered by her extended family. A favorite teacher in the Cannington, Goodwood and Sandford communities and treasured friend to many.
Visitation was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S. Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Thursday, November 24, 2011 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service took place on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 11 am at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church (59 Toronto St. S. Uxbridge) with interment at the Uxbridge cemetery following. Family and Friends were invited for refreshments at the Low and Low Funeral Home after the interment. In memory of Lori, please consider a donation to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation.

Davidson, Morley Bain

passed away peacefully on Friday, November 18th, 2011 at the age of 94. Predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Elva (2008). Beloved father of Sharon Paradine and Mary Ellen Turcotte (Bob). Cherished grandpa to Colin Paradine (Brook), Angela Di Fede (Sebastian), Robert Turcotte (Chantelle), Amanda Rusk (Matthew), Jody Turcotte (Angie) and Robyn Davies (Aric). Dear great-grandpa of Paige, Cole, Grace, Evan, Ava, Andre, London, Braydon and Daniel. Morley will also be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Friends and family were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S., Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 for visitation on Saturday, November 19th from 7-9p.m. Funeral service was held in the chapel on Sunday, November 20th at 1p.m. with visitation for one hour prior.
