Burleigh, Muriel (nee Brett)

passed away at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Muriel Burleigh loving mother of Michelle and her husband Harry Swartout. Dear sister of Jean (Archie) Campbell and predeceased by parents Phyllis and Robert Brett, brothers Roland and Jackson and her husband Albert. Muriel is survived by her nephews Robert, Donald and Steven Brett, Brian (Birgit) Campbell, and nieces Sharon Pascoe and Suzanne (Neil) Brown. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Muriel Burleigh was held at the St. Thomas Anglican Church, 101 Winchester St., Brooklin, Ontario on Wednesday November 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. interment Groveside cemetery , Brooklin. Memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Mission of The Deaf, 2395 Bayview Ave., North York M2L 1A2. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Port Perry, Ontario (905) 985-7331.

Woodward, Robert (Bob)

Suddenly passed away on the morning of Thursday, November 10, 2011 at his home. Bob will be sadly missed by his partner Debbie, his son Jonathan, his stepsons Tom (Kristyn) and Aaron (April) and his three grandsons. Survived by his father Robert Woodward Sr., his brother Stephen and his sister Bonnie. Predeceased by his mother Joanne.Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry, ON (905) 985 – 7331 on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral service was held in the chapel on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Neumann, Marlene Evelyn

passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Port Perry on Tuesday, November 8th, 2011 in her 57th year, after her courageous battle with cancer. Much loved mother of Jenny (Russell) and Crystal (Ted). Very special grandmother of Devin Daniel Neumann, Alison, Cullen, Ceara, Nolan and Callum. Beloved sister of Edward (Olga), Raymond (Anne), Dennis, Darlene (Dan), Richard and Ronnie (Ruth). Will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving parents Fred and Mary Zaparanuik. Will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family. Our family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful care provided by the Doctors and Nursing Staff at Sunnybrook Health Centre, Princess Margaret and Port Perry Hospital.
Family and Friends were received from 11:00 am until 1:00pm at Low and Low 1763 Reach St., Port Perry (905) 985-7331, on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Followed by Funeral service in the chapel officiated by Rev. John Coulman. Interment took place at Pine Grove cemetery following service.

Whitney, Doreen Joyce

passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Thursday, November 3rd, 2011 in her 95th year. Joyce Whitney (nee: Keppel), dear wife of the late Arthur Whitney. Much loved mother of Doreen Johnson (late Joseph), David (Pauline) and Gordon (Nancy). Very special grandmother of Brian Johnson (Angela), Anne Sims (Matthew), Anthony Whitney (Rose), Gregory Whitney, Nathan Whitney and Joanna Heath (Bradley). Fondly remembered by her great – grandchildren Samantha, Andrew, Brendan, Alana, Riley and Eva. A service to celebrate a life well lived was held on Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul`s Anglican Church, 65 Toronto Street, South, Uxbridge. Visitation at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Interment Uxbridge cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul`s Anglican Church, the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation or the St. Thomas Anglican Church, Brooklin.

Bagshaw, William (Bill)

Born at his family home in Vroomanton, ON, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Southlake Regional Health Centre, at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Eleanor for 47 years. Fondly remembered by his children; Karen (Dennis), Bill (Carol), and Richard (Elizabeth). Lovingly remember by his grandchildren; Michael, Aiden, Anna, Sarah and Tommy. Dear brother of Doug (Janet) and Linda (Eric). Dear brother – in – law to David and Ron Beare. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Beatrice and his sister Barb. An employee of General Motors for 36 years and a recent employee of Williamson’s of Uxbridge.A memorial service in memory of Bill took place on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S., Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 at 3:00p.m. with visiting from 1:00 – 3:00. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.

Teehan, Ann

passed away at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the age of 65. Ann Teehan dearly beloved wife of Jim Teehan of Seagrave. Loving mother of Christopher (Carolyn) Teehan and Geoffrey (Melissa) Teehan. Dear grandmother of Emily, Lauren, Cole and Samuel. Sister of Lynda Dell, Ted Ladelpha, and Kathleen Ladelpha. Ann will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends may call at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach St., Port Perry on Friday November 4, 2011 from 3:30 to 5:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. A complete funeral service was held in the chapel on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow. A family interment will take place at Notre Dame cemetery in Ottawa. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Law, Ruth

The Law family announces with sadness the passing of Ruth Law at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on October 31, 2011. Mrs Law passed away peacefully with her family at her side. The family would like to express their appreciation for the kindness and care shown by the hospital staff, especially Dr. Chin and Jane Mantifel. Ruth was active for many years with the Trinity United Church and the Hospital Auxiliary. Also many thanks to the wonderful friends and neighbours who cared for and assisted Ruth in her later years, especially Doug and Mary Alexander, Kathy Shaw, Maxine Augustine, Muriel Lanigan, Walter Merrick, Alex & Grace Packman and family and many, many others. Shadlock, Dorell

After a lengthy illness, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital at the age of 81. Predeceased by her husband Howard Shadlock (2001). Dorell will be sadly missed by her 5 nieces and her nephew. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital and Butternut Manor. Special thank you to Dr. Calesh Doobay and Dorelles dear friend Minnie. Laszlo, Sandra

passed away peacefully on the Laszlo Farm on Sunday, October 30, 2011. Beloved wife of Rick M. Laszlo. Lovingly remembered by her Daughters; Lee – Anne, Rebecca, Jacqueline and Caralynn. Forever in the heart’s of her Grandchildren; Dylan, Tristan, Joshua, Kaitlin, Nathan, Nolan and Austin. Predeceased by her Father Alexander Schaeffer, her Brother Bernard Schaeffer and her Grandson Ethan. Survived by her Mother Reinhilde, and her Brothers Michael Schaeffer and Frank Schaeffer.Friends and Family were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home (23 Main Street South, Uxbridge, (905) – 852 – 3073) on Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A service was held in the chapel on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. In Sandra’s memory, donation may be made to a charity of your own choice.

Stone, Linda

passed away at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry, on Friday, October 28, 2011 after complications from Multiple Myeloma. Linda Stone beloved wife of Brian Newstead. Dear daughter of Betty and the late William Stone. Sister of John (Dawn) of Rochester Minnesota, Murray (Shona) of Greenbank, Janice (Richard Kerr) of Oshawa, Jill (Paul Bradley) of Port Perry, Bob (Dianne) of Saintfield, Kate (Jim Ashbridge) of Toronto, Grant (Beth Tapscott) of Unionville and Peter (Heidi) of Barrie. Linda will be missed by many nieces and nephews as well as by friends from Toronto, Port Perry and elsewhere. Family and friends may call at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach St., Port Perry on Monday November 14, 2011 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Linda was held in the chapel on Monday November 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. If desired, donation may be given in Linda s memory to research for a cure of Multiple Myeloma at Princess Margaret Hospital, to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Howsam, Joyce (nee Clements)

passed away at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry with her family by her side on Friday, October 28, 2011 in her 78th year. Joyce Howsam dearly beloved wife of Harold Howsam of Seagrave. Loving mother of Heather (Al) Tomaso, Beaver (Janet) Howsam and Brad (Heather) Howsam. Dear grandmother of Wes, Haleena, Robert, Keith, Ahlyssa, Robert and Tim. Sister of Isabel (Lloyd deceased) Sommerville and Linda (Reg) Philip. Joyce will be sadly missed by sister in law Mary June (Glen) Smith and predeceased by brother in law Keith and sister in law Lucille. Family and friends may call at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach St., Port Perry on Thursday November 3, 2011 from 6 to 9 p.m. A private family memorial service was held. Pilkey, Larry Russell Keith

passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, October 27th, 2011 at the age of 52. Life long love of Louise. Proud father of Luke and Jake. Predeceased by parents Earle and Shirley Pilkey. Brother of Terri, Lenni and Tracy. Son in-law of Earl and Carolle Hockley. Brother in-law of Pam and Brenda. “Pilk” will be remembered as many things, a Firefighter, friend, competitor, coach and family man.
