Cousin, Roland (Rollie)

passed away with his family by his side on Friday June, 4, 2010 at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry at the age of 66. Roland Cousin dearly beloved husband of Georgine Cousin of Port Perry. Loving father of Gino (Lidiya), Dany, Langis (Kara), and Johanne (Jaeland) Scavuzzo. Dear Pappy of Matthew, Claire, Martyn, Benjamin and Remy. Roland will be sadly missed by his many brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and friends. Family and friends will be received at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach St., Port Perry on Friday June 11, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog St., Port Perry on Saturday June 12, 2010 at 11a.m. Interment Pine Grove cemetery , Prince Albert.

Cornwall, Bruce Duncan
(B.A., B.Ed, M.Ed)

Died at the Port Perry Hospital on Thursday, May 27, 2010, in his 84th year. Retired principal of Prince Albert Public School, Sir John A. MacDonald Public School and Ridgeway Public School. Former governor of O.I.S.E. Beloved husband of Patty of 60 years. Loving father of Debi (Ken) Sorensen and Catherine (Neil) Cornwall – Taylor. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Lindsay (Trevor), Andrew (Sarah), David and great grandchildren Ashlyn and Jack. Survived by brother Bill and predeceased by his sister Patricia Shaw. Private funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach St. Port Perry, (905) 985 – 7331. In Bruce’s memory, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

McKenzie, Gary Charles

passed away peacefully at the Community Nursing Home in Port Perry on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the age of 70. Gary McKenzie formally of Hastings County. Loving father of Darrien, Scott (Theresa) and predeceased by his daughter Lynn. Will be forever missed by his grandchildren Devin, Janine, Tylor, Katelyn, Mitchal, Marshal and sweetest great grandpa to Anders. Will be lovingly remembered by daughter -in- law Laurie. Survived by his sister Muriel (Jim) Hughes and predeceased by his sister Loubelle. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Saturday, May 29, 2010 for a Celebration of Gary's Life from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

Criscione, Vince

passed away suddenly as the result of an accident at work on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the age of 37. Vince Criscione dearly beloved husband of Karin of Port Perry. Loving and devoted father of Addison and Jayden. Loving son of John and Terry Ann Criscione and son-in-law of John and Judy Buchanan. Dear brother of Jill (Paul) and Charlene (Tony) and brother-in-law of Kirk (Pam) Buchanan. Vince is predeceased by his grandparents David and Agnes Ferguson and Vincenzo and Marie Criscione and he will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and his many many friends. Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach St., Port Perry on Monday, May 24, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A complete funeral service was held in the chapel on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation. Memorial donations to the SickKids Foundation would be appreciated.

Elliot, Olive

Olive passed away peacefully May 20, 2010 at the age of 93. Wife of the late Harold Elliot and daughter of the late Herbert and Edith Harrison. Loving mom of Carl (Margaret), Grant (Nina), Ralph (Linda) and Cheryl (Jerry Clayton). Fondly remembered by her 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Leaskdale and the Eastern Star, Sunderland Branch. A visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with service following at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Historic Leaskdale Church, 11850 Durham Road 1. Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay or a charity of your choice.

passed away suddenly at his home in Port Perry on Friday, May 14, 2010 at the age of 51. John Davis dearly beloved husband of Cheryl Davis of Port Perry. Loving father of Jason Davis and Melissa (Roderick) Arseneau. Dear grandfather of Lily Jane Arseneau and predeceased by Liam. Son of the late Ann Scott. Dear brother Tony Davis and Rob (Lisa) Scott. John will be sadly missed by his nephew Carter and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Peacefully on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Sunnybrook Hospital in her 78th year. Edith beloved wife of the late Ron. Loving mother of David (Joanne), Steve (Lisa), Debbie and Grant. Predeceased by her son Robbie. Survived by her sisters June (Al) and Joyce. Predeceased by her brother Ralph. Grandchildren Jennifer (Andrew), Robert, Sarah, Ronnie, Christopher, Aidan, Melissa and Johnathon. Great grandchildren Austin, Zoey, Lily and Alena. Her two precious dogs Maggie and Amy.
A Service to celebrate Edith’s life was held at the Veterans Club (406 Millard Ave. Newmarket, ON.) on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with visiting one hour prior, reception to follow. Kavin, Alan

On Saturday, May 1, 2010 Al Kavin went home to his Father. Leaving behind his wife Donna, his 3 children Beth, James (Danielle) and Caroline (Adam), and his 3 beloved grandchildren Brenden, Dylan and Morgan. Dearly remembered by his sister Pat, nephew Tim (Kelly), niece Roxane (Ken), brother Tom, brother-in-law John (Rebecca) as well as his large extended family.

Jackson, Dean

passed away suddenly but peacefully at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Friday, April 28, 2010 in his 82nd year. Survived by his loving wife Ruth and children Ian (Taffy) and Carolyn (Anthony), as well as his brother Reverend Douglas Jackson (Mary). He will be missed by his dearly beloved grandchildren.
A Funeral Service was held in the chapel at the Low and Low Funeral Home Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.

1935 – 2010

Vera peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Bill Fawns and daughter of the late Howard and Elva Harris. Loving mom of Peggy (Keith Kennedy), Lois (Doug Hogarth), Brenda (Dan Smith), George & Bill (Loretta). Proud grandmother of Sarah (Dave Jowett), Byron, Jason and Ben Kennedy, Jack & Robin Hogarth, Kyle (Krystle) & Carrie Smith, Victoria & Russell Fawns, Natalie, Donovan & Ryan Fawns, and Sarah & Lisa Fralick. Very proud great grandmother of Rachel and Caleb Jowett and Molly Smith. Sister of Murray, Alma, Joan, Linda, and Donna. Predeceased by brothers Paul, Ray and Elmer. Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Vera had a courageous 40 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Family and friends were one of her greatest joys in life. She leaves a legacy of perseVERAnce…. The family would like to thank the thoughtful staff at ReachView Village Nursing Home and the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Thanks to Dr. Batton and Dr. Bryon for their care.

passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry after a courageous battle with cancer. Gerry Connolly beloved husband of Doreen. Loving father of Stephen (Kim), Tony (Skye) and Christopher (Kate). Cherished papa to Amanda, Brittany, Sean and Caileigh. Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Friday April 30, 2010 from 2 to 3 p.m.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Gerry Connolly was held in the chapel on Friday at 3 p.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation or the Oshawa Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

Cleary, Michael

passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, in his 83 year. Predeceased by his brother Joe Cleary and sister Bridget Cleary, and survived by his sister Mari (Charlie). He will be sadly missed by his nephew Charlie and his many friends. A Funeral Service was held in the chapel at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street. South, Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Following the service there was a private family internment at Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery. In memory of Michael, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
