Fralick, Raymond "Clare"

At the age of 58, passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital on Sunday, April 4, 2010 with his family by his side. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Hailey and her partner Dylan Harper, his son Jesse Fralick, granddaughter Alexa Fralick and mother of his children Laurie. Fondly remembered by his sisters Sandra Boos and Dale and her husband Doug Grant. Survived by his mother Florence and predeceased by his father Raymond. Survived by his nieces Jennifer and Jill and great niece Elyssa and great nephews Ethan and Ben. Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach St. Port Perry (905) 985-7331 for visitation on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. A Memorial Service was held in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Frazer Lacey officiated. Reception followed the service. In Clare's memory, memorial donations may be made to the Scugog Island United Church.

Willerton, Florence

passed away peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 92 years of age. Florence was born in Rossburn, Manitoba. Predeceased by her loving husband Earl Alfred Willerton. Beloved mother to Patricia, Earlene and Merlyn. Cherished greatly by sons-in-law Ron, Craig, Glen and predeceased by Grant Sr.. Dearest grandmother to Chris, Tyler, Geoffrey, Grant Jr., Ashley and Mark. Sadly missed by her many relatives and friends in Ontario and across western Canada. Florence’s great sense of humor never failed her and we will always cherish the many years of memories. No services will be held at this time, a commemorative gathering will take place at a later date. For those who wish to remember Florence’s life and its conclusion in a way that would have pleased her, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Bebee, Elizabeth (Bess)

passed away suddenly at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the age of 70. Bess Bebee (nee Garrison) wife of the late Roy Bebee. Loving mother of Laura (Kevin) Engelsman, Angela (Doug) Wright and Audrey Bebee and her companion Jeremiah Knight. Dear grandmother of Raymond Engelsman and his girlfriend Natasha Handley. Sister-in-law of Mickey Garrison and predeceased by her brother Reg Garrison and survived by her sister Flo Hawkey. At the request of Bess Bebee no funeral service was held. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Port Perry (905) 985-7331.

Aikman, James (Jimmy)

AIKMAN, James (Jimmy) MacDonald - (1918 - 2010) After a final brave battle, died on March 30th in his 92nd year at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Survived by his loving wife Violet (nee Murdock), daughter Sherri Mattice of Markham and grandson Graham Mattice. Predeceased by his brother Andy (RCAF 1942) and son-in-law Bob Mattice. Jimmy was most proud to have served with and retired from the Toronto Police and Metro Toronto Police as a Senior Officer (civilian) from 1936--1983; Royal Canadian Navy (1942-1946), past President of the Metro Toronto Police War Veterans Association and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 179 of No. 170, Uxbridge. Past Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the province of Ontario (1967), W.M. and L.M. Transportation Lodge No. 583 (1963), now known as Trillium Lodge No. 575, H.M. Ontario Lodge Port Hope No. 26 and L.M. North Entrance Lodge No. 463 Haliburton. 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Past Warden of former St. Elizabeth's Anglican Church, Etobicoke and St. George's Anglican Church, Haliburton. Longtime member of the Hustler Bible Class. The family wishes to specifically thank Dr. Gail Porter and Dr. St. John, both of Uxbridge, for the dedicated care and attention they generously gave Jimmy over the past few years. Also, words cannot express the family's gratitude to Kathy, Debbie, Lynn and Donna for the loving care and laughter they brought to Jimmy through their daily support. Cremation has already taken place. A memorial service was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Toronto Police Widows and Orphans Fund or the Markham- Stouffville Hospital, Uxbridge Site.

Sturman, Leslie Albert

passed away peacefully at his home in Seagrave on Friday, March 26, 2010 in his 69th year. Les Sturman dear father of Leslie and Brian Sturman. Devoted grandfather of Brian Jr. (BJ) Sturman. Les will be sadly missed by his siblings Ken (Eleanor) Sturman of Seagrave, Reg (Carolyn) Sturman of Lindsay, Jean Cox of Bowmanville and predeceased by Isabel Sweetman and Lee Sturman. Brother-in-law of Allan Sweetman of Bowmanville and Carol Carroll of Port Perry. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Port Perry (905) 985-7331. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Point cemetery , Algonquin Rd., Little Britain, with a reception to follow. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Seagrave United Church, Pleasant Point cemetery or a charity of your choice.

Cooke, Heather (Anderson)

passed away after a short battle with cancer on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the young age of 48. Heather will be sadly missed by her loving husband Wayne, her daughter Ashley, grandson Duncan, along with her parents Alfred and Margaret and siblings Murray, John and Debbie.Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Heather Cooke was held in the chapel on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. with a reception following at the funeral home. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Children’s Wish Foundation would be appreciated.

Gumbs, Wilfred Tyler

passed away peacefully at the Markham Stouffville Hospital on Thursday, March 25, 2010 in his 80th year. Cherished husband of Sheila Gumbs for 52 years. Loving father of Angela Browning (Gary). Loving Grampy of William, Jonathan, Christopher and Brett. Great-Grampy of Hailey. Survived by his sister Sheila Gregory of Markham. Predeceased by his brother and sisters Randolph, Maggie and Muriel. Wilfred will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Friends and family were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 for visitation on Monday, March 29, 2010 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service was held in the chapel on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Uxbridge cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Spencer, Patricia Jean

passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 19, 2010 in her 63rd year. Beloved wife of Robert for 40 years. Loving mother to Scott and Shelley. Fondly remembered by her brothers Grant, Will, David (Zeke) Rennie and sisters Helen Lejnieks and Margaret Prentice (deceased). Tennent, Annie Hendren

passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Lakeridge Health Hospital in Port Perry in her 96th year. Predeceased by her husband Jim, her sisters Jean, Margaret and Agnes, as well as her brothers William, Charles and Adam. Beloved mother of Neil Cameron (Carol) and James Ross (Pat). Fondly remembered by her grandchildren James (Rhonda), Sherry (Chris), Scott and Bob, and her great grandchildren Andrew, Mark, Elisa and Taylor. A private graveside service was held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Mount Pleasant cemetery in Zephyr. A family gathering to honour Annie followed the service. Suddenly called home on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Southlake Regional Hospital, Newmarket. Paul beloved husband and best friend of Ruth. Loving father to Donna (Greg) Mathewson, Brenda (Ley Winch) and Kevin (Lindsey Weidelich). Special popa to Alayna. He will be fondly remembered by his Hillside Church Family. passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health in Bowmanville on Sunday, March 14, 2010 in his 100th year. Remembered by 7 nieces and nephews Donald (Carolyn) Stevens of Brooklin, Mary (John) Villeneuve of Wilmot Creek, Murray (Marg) Stevens of Myrtle, Wayne (Pam) Gilroy of St. Catharines, Darlene (Alan) Lee of East Aurora, New York, Janice (John) Wheeler of Whitby, Lynn (Paul) Kent of Oshawa. Long time friend of Don Burden of Oshawa. Predeceased by his sister Evelyn Stevens of Myrtle and Ernest Gilroy of Port Perry. Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 1 to 2 p.m. A funeral service was held in the chapel on Wednesday at 2 p.m. interment Pine Grove cemetery , Prince Albert.
