Butler, Joan

passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Port Perry on October 26, 2009, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late William Butler. Loving mother of Michael (Ann), Bryan (Pam), and Mark (Melanie). Devoted grandmother of David, Jennifer, Kim, Robin, Lisa, Jamie, and Allison. Proud great-grandmother of Kaitlyn and Paxton. Joan's family would like to than Dr.'s Steven and Elizabeth Russell and the nursing staff of Port Perry Hospital for their loving and gentle care. A visitation will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the funeral home. Interment at Pine Hills cemetery , at a date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sleeping Children Around the World or to a charity of your choice.

Nichol, Eva (Nee: Savoy)

passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 20, 2009 at Toronto East General Hospital, in her 93 rd year. Beloved wife of the late Russell. Lovingly remembered by her chosen daughter Kimberly Anne, and grandchildren Melanie and Graham. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the palliative care team, co-workers, and the staff at the Toronto East General hospital for the exceptional care Eva received. A visitation was held at Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main St. S Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Friday October 22, 2009 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service was held in the chapel on Saturday October 24, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. In Eva's memory donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind would be appreciated.

Harrison, Jean Alice

Surrounded by her family Jean passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Earl Harrison. Loving mother of Larry (Patricia Peterkin) Barrans, Sherry Harrison, and Kim (Rick Fawns). Jean will be lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren and her 7 great grandchildren. A Service to celebrate Jean's life was held at Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one-hour prior. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations made to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Skinner, Christopher John Andrew

Cherished and adored son of Warren and Ellen, beloved brother of Taryn and almost brother of Peter, life partner of Ryan, love of his grandmother Junne and late grandparents Jim and Betty and adored by Hinkleys and Skinners alike, Christopher John Andrew was taken suddenly from us on Sunday, October 18, in his 28 th year. All who new him were touched by his infectious smile, his shining eyes, his ready laugh and his bigger than life hugs. The light of him will burn on forever. His love for us will remain with us always. Whenever you see the wind ruffle the leaves of the trees, he is with you. Whenever the snow drifts down lightly, he is with you. Whenever you feel the sun warm your shoulders, you have felt the touch of Christopher. Mothers and fathers - go home and hug your kids, for they are only lent to you. A Memorial Service was held at St. Paul's Leaskdale Church St. Paul's Leaskdale (12251 Regional Road 1, Leaskdale) on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. visitation will be held from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge Chapel (905) 852-3073. In Christopher's memory donations made to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Jozefkowicz, Nelida Raquel

Peacefully at Southlake Regional Hospital , Newmarket, on Friday October 16, 2009. Nelida, loving mother of David (Evelyn), and Patrick (Sue). Dearest Mimi of Michael. McTavish, Evelyn Alice (nee: Leney)

passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Lakeview Manor in Beaverton, in her 88 th year. Evelyn, beloved wife of the late Duncan McTavish. Loving mother of Janet (Floyd) Morton, (Heather deceased) Fred Topp, Donna (Larry) Barton, Donald (Susan Webb), Sandy (Sally), David (Elizabeth Gumiran), Laurie (Ron) Stevenson, Rob (Debbie) and Sue. She will be lovingly remembered by her 21 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Survived by 3 brothers and 1 sister. The family would like to thank the doctors at Markham/Stouffville Hospital. A special thank you to the staff at Lakeview Manor for the exceptional care and compassion they showed Evelyn. A visitation was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Friday, October 16, 2009 from 3:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service was held in the chapel on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Siloam cemetery. passed away peacefully at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Monday, October 12, 2009 in her 90 th year. Irene Flumerfelt, wife of the late Lyman (Dutch) Flumerfelt and loving mother of Brian and his wife Terry Flumerfelt. Irene will be sadly missed by her grandsons Matthew and Tristan, sisters Margaret and Dorothy McKenna of Ottawa and her family, friends and neighbours in the Uxbridge area. Peacefully passed away on October 10, 2009 at the Peterborough Regional Hospital. At the age of 77. Elizabeth, dearly loved wife of Michael for 56 years. Loving mother to Raymond and his wife Anne, Stephen and his wife Karen, Janet and her husband Doug. Grandmother to David, Olivia, Michael, Julia, Sandra, Mark, Stephen, Jonathon, Katie and Great granddaughter Brooklynn. Survived by her brothers Jim Wall and Michael Wall, sisters Eileen Tizard, Brid Quigley and Ann French. Predeceased by her brother Patrick Wall. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and extended family. passed away at Markham Stouffville Hospital in Markham on Friday, October 9, 2009 in her 90 th year. Vera Fawns wife of the late Lloyd Fawns. Loving mother of Bob and his wife Linda Fawns, Susan Fawns and predeceased by her son Jim Fawns. Vera will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Heike Fawns. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Luke (Angelique), Melinda (Don), Shannon and Stuart and great grandchildren Faith and Kayleigh. Vera will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. Hunt, Ivy
1911 - 2009

Ivy passed away peacefully at the Community Nursing Home in Port Perry, on Wednesday, September 30. Ivy was the beloved wife of the late James Hunt and was much loved by her daughters Valerie and Barbara and son-in-law Bill Beaton. She is also survived by her sister Winnie and nieces and nephews in England. Her ready smile, spirited and gentle soul and remarkably positive attitude toward life will be remembered fondly by those who knew her. A memorial service was held at St. Stephen's United Church, 1360 Simcoe Street, North (at Taunton Rd.), Oshawa, on Saturday, October 3 at 11:00 a.m. A light lunch and reception followed. The family will always be grateful to the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Community Nursing Home for bringing such happiness and comfort to Ivy in her three years there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Resident's Activity Fund at the Community Nursing Home (cheque made out to Community Nursing Home PP, Memo : Direct to Activity Fund) or a charity of your choice.

Brazel, (Rene) Pearl Alice Lorena (Nee: McCormick)
February 11, 1942 - September 28, 2009

Peacefully passed away on September 28, 2009 at Ajax/Pickering Rouge Valley Hospital with family by her side, at the age of 67. Beloved mother of Ella and her husband Bill Ooms, Natalie and her husband Mike Holloway, and Curtis and his wife Sherri McCann. Will be sadly missed by her adoring grand & great grandchildren: Tanya, Jeffrey, Jessica, Jesse, Cheryl and Chelsea. Survived by her sister Alfreda (McCormick) Jenkins. Rene will be remembered by her many more family and friends. You will forever be locked in our hearts and memories, we all love you.
