passed away peacefully at the Lakeridge Health in Bowmanville on Wednesday, September, 19, 2007, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Edith for over 63 years. Loving father of Ken (Olive), Brian (Reta), and Kathy (Doug) Cummings. Proud Grampa of Janice, Wayne, Robert, Jackie, Rodney, Karen, Andrew and Matthew. Great-Grampa to Garrett, Andrea, Mari Ana and Gabriel. Special thanks to the Nurses and staff at Geriatric Rehab Unit at Lakeridge Health in Bowmanville. Family and friends were received at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 for visitation on Friday, September 21, 2007 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service was held on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Interment Claremont Union cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Claremont United Church.

Perry, Joyce

passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Wednesday, September 19, 2007, in her 63rd year. Beloved wife of Ralph Perry for over 41 years. Loving mother of Barklee and his fiancé Julie and her children Karly and Zack. Survived by her sisters Lorna (Bill) McInnes and Hilda (Heidi) Jones. Predeceased by her parents Clarence and Verna Jones. Survived by her father-in-law Rev. A.H. Perry. Joyce will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by her friends Anne and Neil Perry. The family of Joyce Perry would like to extend their heart felt thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Emergency Department. Retired from the Toronto District School Board after 34 years of service, was a Scugog Township School Board Trustee for 4 years and was a local Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker.

Dear son of Alma Martin and the late Leslie Martin. Loving and proud father of Philip Martin, Jen and her husband Dave Jackson, Jacqueline and her husband Gary Amaral and Katie. Steve will be missed by his brothers in law Ray and his wife Apryle Patterson and Bruce Patterson and his nephews Michael and James. Sandison, Donna Marie

passed away with dignity and with her loving children by her side on Thursday, September 13th, 2007 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay in her 63rd year. Donna Sandison (nee Metheral) will be greatly missed by her family and friends especially by her loving children Christine and her husband Bruce Sterling and Jason and his wife Nicole Sandison. Loving gramma of Lauren, Chelsey, Jessica, Lachlan and new grandchild to arrive in December of this year. Dear sister of Shirley Ross and predeceased by her parents Peter and Alma Metheral. Donna has left a legacy of knitted blankets to her loved ones that will keep them warm with her memory in years to come. Family and friends called at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach St., Port Perry (905)-985-7331 on Thursday September 20, 2007 from 12 noon to 2p.m. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Donna was held in the chapel on Thursday September 20, 2007 at 2 p.m.. Memorial donations to the Palliative Care Unit of the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay would be appreciated.

Cotterill, Brian Douglas

passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Markham Stouffville Hospital, in his 56th year. Brian was proud of his part as drummer of Abraham’s Children, a popular rock band from 1971 – 1976. He successfully was self-employed for 30 years in the Garden Centre business in Agincourt and then in Uxbridge. Son of the late Ron and the late Rita Cotterill. He’ll be so missed by his wife and soul-mate Ginny, his daughter Lindsay (Jason) Doherty and brother Bill (Karen) in Vancouver, sister Sharon (Bill) Cotterill-Cook. Adoringly known as Poppa, by his grandson Sam. He’ll also be missed by his dog Buttercup. At Brian’s request there will be no services held. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Research Fund.

Hanson, Phyllis Kathleen

Peacefully with family by her side at home on Friday, September 7, 2007. Phyllis Kathleen Hanson passed away in her 78th year. She will be lovingly remembered by husband Roy Hanson, missed by daughter Cherry, son-in-law Doug, sister Steph, brother Terry, and will be remembered by grandson Zachary. Faithfully cared for by Tracy, Kim and Isabelle with deepest thanks from the family. A Memorial service was held in the chapel at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Saturday September 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. Hansen, Karen Jane

A huge bit of “Sparkle” left our lives when our sister and aunt Karen passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 just two days before her 39th birthday. Born September 7, 1951 she was the beloved twin of Carol and the adored sister of Sharon Wilbee (Fred), Lynda Ford (Wayne), Barb Barfoot (John), Judy Huhn (Jurgen), Jim (Marie), John (Joanne), Tom and her treasured brother Carl. Karen was very proud of her nieces and nephews. She made each one feel special and will be dearly missed by Dan, Jeff, Paul, Colleen, Leanne, Allison, Victoria, Sara, Kevin, Melissa, Jennifer, Angela, Kristine, and John. She was predeceased by her parents John and Evelyn Hansen and infant sister Dale. Loved by aunts, uncles and cousins. Karen loved people and had the compassionate gift of seeing the good in everyone. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late James Alan Fairley. Loving mother of the late Ronald Fairly and the late Patricia Gajewski. Proud grandmother of Michael, Julia, Sandra and Mark Gajewski. Will be sadly missed by her great granddaughter Brooklynn. Baker, Frank A.C.

Very peacefully, on August 30, 2007, with his family present, in his 90th year. A life lived to the fullest, a friend and example to everyone. Husband, father, grandfather, friend, companion, mentor – there is no one who was not affected by knowing him. Terribly missed, but with cherished memories, by Violet, his wife, companion, and best friend for over 62 years, and by a large and loving gathering of family, friends, and acquaintances. Proud Opa of Zachary, Myles, Melinda, Amber, Jonathon, Jeremy, Monique, Breanne and Alise. Survived by his brothers and sisters in Holland. Retired from General Motors of Canada after 36.5 years of service
Our loving mother peacefully slipped away with her family at her side on Monday, August 13, 2007 after a long courageous battle with cancer, in her 64th year. She will be greeted with loving arms in heaven by her loving husband Ronald L. Colvin. She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted family, her eldest son Douglas Benness, daughter Dorothy (Jason) Newell, son James (Sharon) Colvin and youngest son Ronald Colvin. Dear grandmother of Ashley, Bobby, Dillon, Ryan and Ryley, and great-grandmother to baby Cash who helped brighten her days and ease her burdens when her spirits were low. Beloved daughter of the late Dorothy and Percy Thompson. Dearest sister of John Thompson and special friend Joyce McCabe. Loving sister of Wendy (Reg) Shaw and Bonnie Thompson-Michaud (predeceased). She will be sadly missed by all her uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
