JUNKER, Eva Ida (nee Frieske) -
Peacefully on Saturday, February 7th, 2004, in her 69th year. She passed in her loving husband's arms after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Eva came to Canada in 1956 from Germany looking to fulfill a dream. This is where she met the love of her life Rudi. They married in 1957, built a beautiful home together in Whitby where they raised their three children. Farming with Rudi was one of Eva's biggest passions, growing strawberries for more than 35 years, and keeping care of her beautiful floral gardens. But most of all Eva's love and pride was her family. She would do anything and everything for anyone before thinking of herself. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 46 years Rudi and her three children, son Michael and his wife Frances, daughters Angela and her husband Derek and Janet and her husband Sly. Her grandchildren Rachel, Jamie, Samantha, Kyle, Eric and Colin will miss Oma. She will also be missed by her sisters Lotte, Renate and Elfreide of Germany, and Paula in Vancouver, B.C., and her sisters-in-law Maria, Treni and Resi and brother-in-law Paul all of Trier, Germany. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE 'Thornton Chapel', 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) (Hwy. 2 and Thornton Rd.) at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11th.
