DEMY, Helen -
At Marnwood Life Care Centre on Tuesday, November 11th, 2003. Survived by her brothers Bill of Toronto & Rick of Mississauga. As per the family's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has already taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Charity of your choice.

DOCHERTY, Lynda (nee Lee) -
After a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, Lynda peacefully passed away on November 11, 2003 in her 50th year. Loving wife of Joseph and mother of Tara, Phyllis and Erin. She will be sadly missed by her brothers Randy (Jackie), Doug, John, Bryan and Brent, also her sister Sue (John) and mother Bernice. She will always be remembered by her granddaughters Amanda, Kristen, Jo-Anne, Morgan and grandfather Ben Braithwaite. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2003. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 14, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church (21 Bayly St. East, Ajax), followed by a reception at the Church. Cremation. A special thanks for all the love and support to NOCA (National Ovarian Cancer Association). Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Sunnybrook Cancer Centre - Ovarian Cancer Research would be greatly appreciated.

Peacefully at Extendicare on Tuesday, November 11, 2003. Emma Hanke in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Hermann Hanke. Dear mother of Hildegard Tiesler and her husband Heinz and Erwin Hanke and his wife the late Stefanie. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special thank you to the staff at Extendicare for their exceptional care of Emma. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME.

TILLING, Janet Sim -
Peacefully surrounded by her family at Lakeridge Health - Oshawa on Tuesday, November 11th, 2003 at the age of 70. Predeceased by her husband Ken. Caring mother of the late Kenny (Lois) and survived by son Randy and daughter Sharon. Whee Curly Grandma of Tanya and Haley. Janet is survived by brother Hughie Smith of Campbellford, sister Mary and her husband John Hay and predeceased by brother Davey and sisters Jean and Cathie. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families. VERHOEVEN, John C. -
passed away suddenly in Oshawa on Tuesday, November 11th, in his 52nd year. Much loved son of Louise Verhoeven of Lindsay and the late Walter Verhoeven Sr. Brother of Walter Jr. (Nancy) uncle of Andrew and Christopher. Brother of William (Starr) uncle of Kristy (Chris) and Amy. Brother of Peter (Debbie) uncle of Robert and Nicole. Many aunts and uncles in the area and the Netherlands. Longtime school and adult friend to Bob McEachern and Cecil Prouse. John worked for 25 years with the Durham Region Housing Authority and was active and helpful within his resident community. There will be a visitation at The People's Full Gospel Church, 20 Cambridge Street North, Lindsay, on Saturday, November 15th from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Riverside cemetery , Lindsay. In memoriam donations to The People's Full Gospel Church or the Gideon's Bible Society would be appreciated by the family and can be made through Wise Choice Cremation and Funeral Services, 276 Kent Street West, Lindsay, 705-324-1938.

BOURKE, John Vincent -
passed away peacefully November 10, 2003 at the age of 76. Loving husband of Rita Bourke. Dear father of Raymond, Rosita, Richard and his wife Sarah, Rita and her husband Tim. Foster father of Sharon and her husband Michael Gleason, and Bonita. Proud grandfather of Montana, Marissa, Chelsea, Dillon, Jarret and Jordyn. Sadly missed by sister Joan Cleary and extended family in Canada, Ireland and England. Mr. Bourke will be resting at the W.C. Town Funeral Home, Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial Thursday at 11:00 a.m at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 903 Giffard St., Whitby. Cremation with burial at a later date. In memoriam donations may be made to Charity of choice.

DINGMAN, Cathy Jean -
Suddenly at home in Port Perry on Tuesday November 10, 2003 aged 50 years. Beloved wife of Stephen of 28 years. Predeceased by her parents Earle & Jean Dingman, her brother Neil, and her father in law Stephen Ogilvie. Survived by her mother in law Anne Ogilvie. Loved sister of Gary & his wife Margaret, and Debbie Calhoun & her husband Kevin. Cathy will be sadly missed by her cats Alley, Oliver, and Tobey. Dearly loved aunt of Eowyn, Arwen, Jennifer, Alexandria, Chloe and Caleb. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with funeral service in the Chapel on Friday, November 14, 2003 at 11 a.m. Cremation. Peacefully with his family by his side after a brief and courageous battle with cancer at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Wednesday, November 12th, 2003 in his 59th year. Beloved husband of Kellie. Loving father of son Rheo Jr. and his wife Robin and daughter Shawna-Lee. Cherished Papa of Taylor and Casey. Dear brother of Claire Beaulieu (late Adolphe), Wilda (Germain) Gagnon, Zella Fife (late Bob), Patricia (Gerald) Gagnon, Audrey Sirois (late Rino), Laurie (Chantale) Doiron and missed by many nieces and nephews. KIRKALDY, James Gordon, M.Ed. -
passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 10, 2003. Beloved husband of Betty. Loving father of Diana and Leslie. Brother of Jack Kirkaldy and Mary Hogg. Jim retired from the Durham Board of Education 13 years ago. His tenure included time as the Principal of Cartwright Public School (Blackstock), Westmount Public School (Oshawa), Lord Elgin Public School (Ajax), and Fairport Beach Public School (Pickering). Jim also taught at Ajax High School, and Anson Park, George Peck, Ionview and Meadowvale Public Schools. He was Past President of RTO and served in 1979-80 as President of the Durham OPSMTF and Co-President of DETA. Jim was a member of the Tam Heather Venerables (curlers). Memorial Service in the Chapel of the McEachnie Funeral Home on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
