CARLSON, Charles

CARLSON, Charles (Gus) Eugene Gustaf - passed away peacefully on November 23, 2006 at North York General Hospital after a very long struggle. Beloved husband and best friend of Hilary for 33 years. Adored father of Brenda Laszlo (George) of Elliot Lake, and the late Brian and Bruce. Loved by grandsons Neil, James, Brandon, Brian, Adam and granddaughter Amanda. Great-grandfather of Emily, Jacob and baby Ava. Step-grandad to Carlos, James and Melissa. Loving brother of Dorothy (Pat), Gwen (Gord) and Hilda (Orval), and the late Bud and Doug, and their families. Sadly missed by the gang of Roderick Lake, friends for over 50 years. Special thanks to the staff at North York General Hospital. Service to be held at The Simple Alternative, 275 Lesmill Road, Toronto at 11 a.m. Monday, November 27th. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.

CHRISTIE, Peter

CHRISTIE, Peter - A loving husband, father and grandfather who died peacefully on Friday, November 24th, 2006, in his 76th year. Kind and faithful husband for almost 50 years to Betty. He also leaves behind his children Betty Ann (Edward) Pryzdial, Glenn (Patricia) and Gail (John) Almand and grandchildren Johnathan, Ian, Matthew, Robert, William and Nicholas. Brother of Robert (Betty), Vincent (Annette) and Stanley. Peter was born in Rathven, Banffshire in 1931. He came to Canada in 1952. Betty and Peter were married on December 1st, 1956 and together they never looked back. His friends will always remember him as someone who loved growing and eating potatoes, in any form. Past Grand Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Past Patron of Satellite Chapter No. 310, Past Master Victory Lodge No. 547, Past Assistant Grand Chaplain Grand Lodge of Canada, Member Tecumseh Shrine Club, Member of Heritage Court No. 13 Order of the Amaranth. Friends may call at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd. (north of Lawrence Ave.), Weston from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday and from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday from Albion Gardens Presbyterian Church, 80 Thistledown Blvd. with service to follow at 11 a.m. Eastern Star and Masonic services in the funeral home Monday at 7 p.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

CHURCHMUCH, Wayne Steven Lowell - Peacefully at Toronto Western Hospital on Thursday November 23, 2006. Lovingly remembered by his partner Judy Crouch and her daughter Nicole (Shane). Much loved brother of David (Sheila), Terry (Liz) and Elayne McFee. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Steven and Rose. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel 2357 Bloor St. W. at Windermere east of the Jane subway on Sunday November 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held in the chapel on Monday November 27, 2006 at 3 p.m., followed by cremation. AUBREY, Frank

AUBREY, Frank William - In his 79th year passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Scarborough General Hospital. He will sadly be missed by his two daughters, his son Richard and daughter-in-law Sonya, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends. At the deceased's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family memorial service will be held. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Extendicare Scarborough for truly making a difference.

AWALT, Ronald - A resident of Scarborough who passed away on December 14, 2006, in his 75th year. He will be missed by the residents and the staff of Guildwood Extendicare Nursing Home. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Tuesday, December 19th at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of The Giffen-Mack "Scarborough" Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 4115 Lawrence Avenue East (just west of Kingston Road), 416-281-6800. Interment to follow at Duffin Meadows cemetery.

BARBER, Dr. Hugh Otter

DR. HUGH OTTER BARBER - Dearly loved husband of Joyce Barber, died December 14th, 2006 at the age of 83 years, at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He will be missed by his children Ann, Kathie and Harry (Scott) as well as his grandchildren Amanda, Emily, Adam, Sam, Matt, Elizabeth and Laura and great-grandchild David. His true loves in his life were his family and medicine. Hugh really enjoyed guiding and teaching young doctors at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto. Hugh was the head of the ENT Department at Sunnybrook for many years. He loved the challenge and association with NASA and the Space Shuttle program involving research into dizziness. He was a top expert in his field of medicine. Hugh was recognized and respected throughout the world and received many accolades. Finally and the most important, Hugh was married to Joyce for 60 wonderful years. Friends may call at the TRULL "NORTH TORONTO CHAPEL" FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 2704 Yonge St. (5 blocks south of Lawrence Ave.) on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 11 o'clock. A reception will follow in the "Lytton Room". Cremation to follow.

BOCCI, Antonia - Peacefully passed on December 15, 2006. Sadly missed by her children Bruno and Luciana and daughter-in-law Silva. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Rossana, Francesco, Susie, and Anthony. Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 1141 St. Clair Ave W. (1 block east of Dufferin St.), on Monday, December 18, 2006 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at St. Clare's Church (1118 St. Clair Ave. W.), at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.

BONE, Clarissie (Cal) Marjorie - passed away peacefully, at Aurora Resthaven on Friday, December 15, 2006, in her 90th year. Clarissie Gray, wife of the late Douglas C. Bone, and dear mother of Sandra and her husband Peter Dunec of Queensville, Barbara and her husband John Wiman of Newmarket, and Elizabeth Bone and her husband Jerry Daminato of Guelph. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Debra Smietana, Douglas, David, and Dwayne Dunec, Lesley and Shelley Wiman and great-grandchildren Sarah Stachewicz, Jeffery, David and Meredith Smietana, Cassandra and Christina Dunec, Quinn and Carson Mamo and Mitchell Dunec. Great-great-grandmother of Ava Stachewicz. Predeceased by her brother Leslie Gray and her sister Lucy Booth. Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. South, Newmarket for visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Monday at 12 noon with visitation one hour prior to the service, followed by cremation . BONIFACE, James Robert - February 21, 1936 - December 12, 2006 Beloved husband and best friend of Jean (nee Sprigg) for nearly 50 years. Dear Dad of Jim (Cheryl), Jody (Keith) and Janice (Wayne). Cherished Grandpa of Gordon (Cassie), Kyle, Erin, Bradley, Corey, Kelly and Daniel; Great Grandpa of MacKenzie. Jim was a retired 30 year veteran of the Etobicoke Fire Department. With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away peacefully. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. You fought so hard to stay with us. You tired when a cure was not to be. We would never wish you back, to suffer that again. We admired your courage throughout this battle. Watch over us who loved you, until we meet again. Forever loved and always remembered by your family and friends. BOYLE, Jim

BOYLE, Jim - On December 3, 2006, Jim Boyle died at the Englehart and District Hospital, at the age of 57. He was born in Toronto and lived in Elk Lake for 32 years. Jim served as an Ontario Provincial Police Officer for 30 years. He is survived by his loving wife Pauline, whom he was married to for 31 years; his children Jim, Julie-Anne and Michael; son-in-law Benjie Roy and grandchildren Chloe and Manon. He is also survived by his mother Monica Boyle, brothers Brian, John, Gerry and Leonard; sisters Teresa and Mary; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his father James K. Boyle. The funeral was arranged by McDonald Funeral Home in Englehart with the Funeral Mass celebrated at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Englehart on Saturday, December 9th at 11:00 a.m. Father Gilles Leblanc officiating. Spring interment will take place at the Elk Lake Catholic cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Elk Lake Fire Department or charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

BURTON, Cleve - Entered into rest at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, in his 87th year. John Cleve Burton of Woodville, formerly of Thornhill, was the beloved husband of Joyce Robbie. Loving father of Paul of Toronto, Marilyn (Mark) Benadiba of Toronto and Joanne (Stevan) Toljagic of Toronto. Dearly remembered by grandchildren Jan, Joanna, Jordan, Mark Jr., Savanna and Ryan, sisters Betty Ruddick and Carol Langford and brothers Ray, Harry and Gary. Predeceased by his sister Bonnie Campbell. Friends are invited to call at the Thorne Funeral Home in Cannington on Sunday, December 17th from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service from Woodville United Church on Monday at 2 p.m. Interment Smith's cemetery. As a remembrance, donations to the Woodville Medical Centre or the Ross Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Loving mother of Lisa and her husband Jeff Sayers and Brett. Dear grandmother of Trent, Justin and Lauren. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 379 Division St. Cobourg on Monday, December 18, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Golden Plough Lodge in Cobourg.
