Betty Decelles
Peacefully at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga site on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of the late Albert. Loving mother to Paul and Christine both of Toronto. At Betty’s request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Peter Storrie Knight
After a valiant struggle with cancer, peacefully at home with his family at his side on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at the age of 80. Loving husband of Dorothy for 57 years. Beloved father of David (Norma). A Celebration of Peter’s life will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2003 from 2 – 4 p.m. at Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W., (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) A special thank you to the Dorothy Ley Hospice, Etobicoke Community Care Access Centre and Dr. Swartz. John Gouzecky
Peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2003 at Toronto General Hospital. Loving husband of Beryl Mary (nee Harper) for 53 years. Beloved father of Mary Ann (Wayne), Johnny (Sue), Harry, Ann (Bob), Paul (Valerie), Peter (Sandra). Lovingly remembered by 16 grandchildren and predeceased by grand daughter Sara. Cherished by 6 great-grandchildren and predeceased by great-grandson Jordan. Brother to Jane and Mary and predeceased by 1 sister and 7 brothers. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday at 11am. Interment Glendale Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

"Alfred" Henry Neale
(Petty Officer in the Navy during WWII, stationed in St. John's, Newfoundland) Peacefully in his sleep on October 1, 2003 at Villages of Winston Park Retirement Home - Kitchener at the age of 89. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy Smith. Loving father to Bill and his wife Erica of Hamilton, Bob and his wife Joanne of Kitchener, Debbie Andres and her husband Doug of Oakville. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Lisa, Melanie, Kim, Michelle, Stacy, Danielle, Mac and 4 great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister Gladys Gordaneer and her husband Del and cousin Anne Basley. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Thursday from 5-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 12 noon in the Chapel. Douglas Wilson Mitchell
On October 3, 2003 at Toronto Grace Salvation Army Hospital at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Leona. Loving father of David, Ronald, Catherine Mitchell-Bailey and her husband Brian and grandfather of Emma and Madeleine. The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the loving care by all involved with his journey. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. It is with great sadness that the family announce the sudden death of Marian. He was a loving brother to Ivan (Alojzija) of Etobicoke, Anton, Ivana (Anton), Marija (Rade) of Slovenija. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Monday from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday in the Chapel at 11 am. Cremation.

Evelyn Clark
Peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2003 at the McCall Centre at the age of 87. She will be sadly missed by her friends Liz & Joe, Diane & Eugene, Margo, Margaret, Betty, Heather and all who knew her. Friends were received at the Ridley Funeral Home on Thursday, October 9, 2003. Interment took place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Hamilton.

Stella Dmytrasz
passed away peacefully at McCall Centre (Trillium Hospital, Queensway) on October 8, 2003 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband Walter in 1980 and brother Frank in 1997. Loving mother of Bill and wife Anne, Edward and wife Lillian; grandmother of Steven and Christine and husband Gordon, greatgrandmother of Matthew. Also fondly remembered by nieces and their families in Quebec and Ohio. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. West (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. with Panachyda at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 182 Sixth Street, south Etobicoke, on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment Park Lawn cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Parkinson Foundation, or a charity of your choice. The family expresses its heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the McCall Second Floor medical, nursing, and all other staff for their professional and compassionate care.

Dorilla "Dot" Cormier (nee Le Blanc)
Peacefully, at the Trillium Health Centre - Mississauga, with her family by her side, on October 9, 2003, at the age of 77. Predeceased by her husband Fred. Loving mother to Donald and his wife Leta. Predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Raymond and Clarence. She will be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, their families, and many friends. Valentin “Tine” Strah
Peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, October 13, 2003 at Etobicoke General Hospital at the age of 90. Tine left Slovenija as a young man for Karnten, Austria. He immigrated to Canada where he lived a full and content life with his family. He will be missed by his wife Frances, daughters Maria (John) Ponikvar, Frances (Bill) Ramsay and son Tim (Colleen) and grandchildren Alexandra and Michael Ponikvar and Cameron Ramsay. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm. A Mass will be held on Wednesday from Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church at 10 am. Interment Mt. Peace cemetery. A special thanks to Dr. Maida and the nurses of the Palliative Care Unit.

Veta Micallef
Peacefully at Extendicare Brampton on October 13, 2003 at the age of 87. Predeceased by her loving husband Joseph, sister Cora and brothers Chuck and Al. Cherished sister to Margaret Pompilio of Brampton, dear sister-in-law to Rose Santagato of Aurora and close friend to Jerry Kiviluoma of Etobicoke. Sadly missed by her nephews Kenny Kinchen, John Pompilio and great-nephew Tim Dwyer. Veta’s smile and laughter will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Family and friends are grateful to the staff of Extendicare for their loving care over the last year. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. Peacefully at the Trillium Health Centre-Mississauga on October 16, 2003 in his 86th year. Long time companion to Lillian Teeter. George Elder Cooper
(Ordinary Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 3) Peacefully with his family by his side on October 16, 2003, at the Trillium Health Centre-Mississauga at the age of 69. Beloved husband to Wilma for 42 years and loving father to David. Survived by his sister Janny and will be missed by many family and friends. Andrew (Andrzej) Zelasko
Suddenly on Friday, October 24, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre. Andrew, beloved husband of 53 years of Ursula Zelasko. Loving father of John and his wife Susan, Henry and his partner Roberta Smith, and Diana McKiel. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Jeroemie and Justin McKiel. Andrew is survived by his sisters Karola Borkowski and Janka Zelasko and his brother Edek. He is predeceased by his brother Kazimir Zelasko. Andrew came to Canada in 1949 from Poland and was a 30 year employee of Christie Biscuits. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Sunday and Monday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 28th at 10 a.m. from St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. Interment Glendale Memorial Gardens. The family would appreciate donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or having trees planted in memory of Andre.
