Thelma Houck
passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2005. Loving mom of Chuck, Earl, Debbie (Peter) Derkach, Darby (Steve) and the late George. Much loved grandma to six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Thelma is survived by her brother Al Harris. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel on Sunday at 2 p.m. Cremation.

Frank Joseph Kilravey
Suddenly on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at home, Frank Joseph Kilravey, beloved husband of Madeleine. Dear father of Anne-Marie Dods and grandfather of Paul. Sadly missed by his sister Helen Flowers and predeceased by his brother Matthew. Survived by nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, other family and friends. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Monday 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Interment Mt. Hope cemetery.

Andy Smith
Peacefully at the Trillium Health Centre-Mississauga Site, on Monday, August 22, 2005 at the age of 78. He will be sadly missed by Cary, “his lady” and her son Scott; his daughter Laura Smith and her husband Larry; his son Sam and his wife Debbie; grandchildren Kyla, Hayden, Connor and “Aunt Mavis”. He was one of Toronto’s top commercial photographers specializing in architectural and construction photography and most proud of his aerial work. Andy photographed Toronto from top to bottom from the depths of the subway to the top of the CN Tower. A very special thanks to Dr. Michael King from the Oncology Clinic at the Trillium Health Centre, whose expertise and care gave Andy bonus months of precious life. To the nurses and staff of the clinic who made Andy’s every visit a “fun occasion”, laughed at his jokes and gave him the best of care. Also, Andy will be missed by his many friends at the Memorial Health Club, who exercised and laughed together. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Saturday August 27, 2005 for a Celebration of Andy’s Life at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Trillium Health Centre.

Stanley Pajk
passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at his Dom Lipa Residence at the age of 86. Beloved brother of Frank (Frances). Dearest Uncle of Anne (Allan) Alexander, Barbara (Denny) Schaeffer. Cherished great-uncle of Eric, Nicole, Katy, and Matthew. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Thursday from 6 to 9pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday 10am at the Chapel of Dom Lipa (52 Neilson Drive). Interment Assumption cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dom Lipa Linden Foundation.

Hubertus Walter Ludwig Scheidig
July 20, 1929 - August 23, 2005
It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Hubert on the morning of August 23, 2005. Beloved husband of the late Johanna Scheidig (nee Strobel); he is now reunited with his one and only true love. Most loved father of Ute and husband Philip Winer and cherished Opa to his grandson Michael Hubert. He will be missed and never forgotten by Derek and Terri and their sons Evan and Bennett and by Marc and Ruthie. He was always there for his family and friends and exemplified the meaning of selfless love and friendship to all. He will be sadly missed by his sister Ilse, his nephew Rainer his wife Marion and their daughters Romy and Ina in Altenburg and Wolfgang and his wife Monika, and daughter Conny in Frankfurt, Germany. Hubert was Manager of Relocation Services for the Government of Ontario for 32 years until his retirement in 1989. He received many commendations during his employment with the Province and was a well respected and tireless worker during his career. He will be missed by his many colleagues. In Germany Hubert and Johanna were both Master Bakers. All the people in his life, in his proud new homeland, Canada, were the beneficiaries of his wonderful baking skills and there were always gifts of Cheese Cake or Hollander Schnitten to be enjoyed. Friends will be received at The Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. West (between Islington and Kipling Avenues, 416-259-3705) on Friday, August 26, 2005 from 1 to 4 pm. Service at 4:00 pm in the Chapel followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

Mildred (Brown) Bryant
On Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at Toronto Grace Hospital. Mother of Frances, Bruce (Lea), and Brenda. Grandmother of 8, great-grandmother of 12. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Friday from 2 to 4 pm & 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 10 am. Interment Sanctuary Park cemetery.

Gordon Bye
Suddenly and peacefully with his family by his side at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on August 29, 2005 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Audrey for 45 years. Loving father to Douglas (Sandra), John (Christine) and predeceased by his son James. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Jeffrey, Amy and Katie. John Alfred Gillmore
Peacefully on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at William Osler Health Centre, Etobicoke Site at the age of 82. Loving husband of Elfreda for 56 years. Beloved father of Trevor and his wife Nina and Greg. Cherished grandad of Hillary, Victoria, Taylor and Johnathan. He will be missed by family in England and South Africa. A private family service has been held. Colin Bell-Pimentel
It is with great sorrow that the families announce the tragic passing of Colin Earl Bell-Pimentel on Monday, July 9, 2007 at the age of 20. Colin will be dearly missed by his devoted mother Sandy, his father Frank and his stepmother Diane - also grandparents Clarence and Debbie Bell, Lorna and Gordon Harrison, Dorothy and Brian Marston and Jose Pimentel. Fondly remembered by Aunt Marie and Uncle Bernie, Uncle Steve and Aunt Luciana, Uncle George and Aunt Fernie, Uncle Sandy and Aunt Susan, Uncle David and Aunt Geraldine - Linda, Adam, Julie, Amy, Jacqueline, Sebastian, Shannyn, Marianne, Adam and Sean - many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will long remember Colin for his good fighting spirit and his exceptional talent as a drummer. Daisy Beatrice Shields (nee LeVear)
(Member of St. Paul’s United Church, previously a member of St. James Presbyterian Church) Peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in her 84th year. Dearly beloved wife of 54 years to Tom. Loving mother of Tom and his wife, Rosemary and Elizabeth and her fiancé, William. Cherished Nana to Jessica and Bobby. Also survived by many other family and friends. Daisy had many interests, among them knitting, bowling and baking. She was truly a compassionate soul and would use her talents to help those in need or donate money from bake sales to sponsor children with World Vision. Her kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness is going to be greatly missed. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. Reverend Father Franc Sodja
Peacefully at Dom Lipa, Etobicoke on Sunday, July 15th, 2007 in his 94th year and in his 67th year as a Priest. Reverend Father Franc Sodja entered the Vincentian Order of Religious Priests in Slovenia and was ordained on March 12, 1936. Predeceased by his parents Janez and Maria and his 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Lovingly remembered by his many religious brothers, nieces, nephews and family. Resting on Tuesday at Dom Lipa, 52 Neilson Drive from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 739 Browns Line from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Holy Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the church at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 19th. Interment Assumption cemetery , Mississauga. In lieu of Flowers, donations to the Slovenian Apostolic Circle, 739 Brown’s Line, Etobicoke, Ontario M8W 3V7 would be appreciated.
