Kenneth Charles Smith
Peacefully at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga site on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the age of 81. Ken was born in Toronto on Doncaster Avenue, but spent most of his life living in Alderwood. Ken was a longtime employee for the Etobicoke Board of Education. Beloved husband to the late Kathleen. Loving dad to Marilyn and Philip. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm. A Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday at 2 pm. Cremation. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army.

Roy Stanley DeAngelis
passed away peacefully at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga on Monday, May 15, 2006. Roy worked for many years at Massey-Ferguson and was a member of Local #439. He proudly served with the 9th Heavy Battery and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #101. He played with a former house league baseball team at Christie Pits and was involved with the Alderwood Mens Softball League for many years. Husband of the late Ruth. Fondly remembered by his children Roy (Barb), Cathy, and Patti. Proud grandpa to Michelle (Perry), and Veronica. Much loved “G.G.” great-grandpa to Samson. He will be remembered by his special friends, the English family. Brother to Bobby and the late Frannie, Archie, Jenny, Evie, Marg, Willy Sr., Haley, and Dolly. Noel the family dog will miss her many visits with him. A special thank you to the Trillium Health Centre Chronic Care Unit and Meadowcroft Place. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Thursday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. Karl Vidmar
passed away in Toronto at Humber River Regional Hospital, on May 17, 2006. Survived by his sister Christine Curran, brother-in-law Lyle Curran, nieces Debbie Curran (Paul Blair), Hilary Curran Allen (Paul), Lisa Curran Rapone (Costanzo) and Laurel Murray (Mark). Karl was a retired school teacher in the Toronto area. He loved life, travelled and was close to his friends and relatives, particularly the Slovenian Community. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (Prayers Friday). A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 am from Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal (739 Brown’s Line). Interment Assumption cemetery. Contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Dom Lipa would be appreciated.

Douglas Hamilton Robinson
Peacefully following a brief illness on Sunday, May 21, 2006 at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital at the age of 81. Predeceased by his Loving wife laura. Fondly remembered Father to Guy and John (Mary). Much Loved and Proud JADGE to Matthew, Kim, Luke and Paul. Beloved brother to Jack (Bernice), Bob (Jeannie), Marina and brother-in-law to Ed (Lorraine). James Joseph Tasker
Peacefully at Bridge Point Hospital on Sunday, May 21st 2006. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Monday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from St. Leo’s Catholic Church. Interment Assumption cemetery.

Percy Richard Kinchen
World War II Veteran Royal Navy, 51 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 3 and a member of the Burma Star Association Toronto. On May 25th 2006 in his 82nd year at the Trillium Health Care Centre- Mississauga Site. Dear brother of the late Irene Halliday and uncle of Anne Dunham and Leslie Halliday both of England, also survived by many cousins in Canada and England. He will be sadly missed by his fellow legion members as well as many friends. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Springcreek cemetery. Donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

R.W. “Bill” Gardner
Born April 2, 1913, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Died suddenly May 27, 2006 in the arms of his partner Helen. Survived by his sister Joyce Hagan of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, brother Jack in Oakville, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Early education at Empire Public School, Central Collegiate and Moose Jaw Technical School. Work history began at Robin Hood Flour Mills with a subsequent transfer to territory sales in Vancouver. A few years later a job offer from Miles Laboratories for Western Canada sales, accepted. This continued with some management until retirement in 1978. Second World War interrupted sales career with a four year stint in Canadian Infantry earning a lieutenancy. Sports history in early and late teens had a reasonable success in swimming meets, winning Provincial Mile Wrigley Trophy three times. After arriving in Vancouver became an ardent golfer playing at Toronto Board of Trade for more than 30 years. Thank you to the staff at Toronto General and Princess Margaret Hospital for all their care. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Mitchell Mullins
Suddenly, at home on May 27, 2006, at the age of 50. Beloved husband of Jody for 19 years and adored father to Kevin. He is survived by his mother Carthel Mullins, father Lloyd Mullins and mother and father in-law Mary and Raymond Gordon. He will be sadly missed by the Mullins family; Brenda, Donna, Wayne (Marg), Wendy (Edgar), Jeff (Laurie), and Steve (Karen); and the Mazurkiewicz family, Henry (Sandra) and Cynthia. His warm hugs and giving nature will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Mitch's humour, generosity and charisma was ever present and his dedication to his family and work was respected by all. Terrence Wayne Wray
Suddenly on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at his home in his 60th year, beloved husband of Linda (nee Douglas). Son of the late John and Bernice Wray. Dear father to Terry and his wife Lori, and Debbie. Grandfather to Kinnon, Brayden and Shannon. Brother of Mike and Gerald and predeceased by Jack and Richard. Brother-in-law of Bill and Jeanne. Uncle to Robert and Karen, Jacqueline and Craig, Terry and Kami, Cheryl-Ann, Laurel and Bill, Paul and Gigi and Ian and Meagan. Survived by many cousins and great nieces and nephews. William McVaney
Peacefully at Bridgepoint Hospital on Tuesday, May 3, 2005. William in his 90th year, beloved husband of the late Annie (Winnie). He will be sadly missed by his brother John Richard and his many nieces and nephews. William is predeceased by his brother Arthur. passed away peacefully at Toronto Grace Hospital on May 6, 2005, at the age of 93. Predeceased by her husband Robert Kyle. Survived by her sister Joyce Shaw, nieces, nephews and extended family. Antonija Erjavec
On Saturday, May 7, 2005, at the age of 67, Antonija passed away peacefully in Markham, Ontario with grace and dignity, surrounded by her family. Loving wife and best friend of the late Anton. Loving mother of Mary and her husband, John, of Toronto, Martina and her husband, Bernie, of Markham, Marta of Minnesota, and Tony of Toronto. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Diana, Matthew, Andrew, Steven, Michael, Mary-Frances, Kaitlin and Jenna. Dear sister of Marica and Alojz of Slovenija. Predeceased by her brothers Joe of Pickering, Ivan, Tony and sister Ivanka of Straza of Slovenija. She is survived by her Aunt Ivanka of Toronto and her beloved Aunt Toncka and uncle Jaka Kovacic, and cousins of Ohio, Arizona, and Slovenia. Toncka worked variously as a nanny, a nurses’ aide at Scarborough General Hospital, a driving instructor, and for over twenty years as a factory assembler at Amphenol Canada. Toncka will be remembered and cherished by her family and the Slovenian community as a person of tremendous generosity and compassion. She selflessly poured herself out for others with passion and tenderness, and embraced life’s challenges with faith, courage, and integrity. She will be sorely missed by all. A heartfelt thanks to the nursing and medical staff of St. Joseph’s, St. Michael’s, and Sunnybrook Hospitals. Special prayers and blessings to all the nurses and caregivers of Markham-Stouffville’s 1-East Palliative Care Ward for their professionalism, sensitivity, compassion, and kindness in our mother’s illness. Their goodness and care will never be forgotten. Peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2005 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in her 55th year, Krystyna, dear loving daughter of Genowefa Dasko in Poland. Beloved wife of Richard.
