Peacefully and courageously, he passed away at Bridgepoint Health on Wednesday, May 11, 2005. He was a beloved father to Aimee and Tiffany Mae and proud and loving papa to Mikaila Mae. To his many friends and relatives, especially his brothers and sisters, he will be missed. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm & 7 to 9 pm and Monday and Tuesday from 5 to 9 pm. Prayers Sunday at 7 pm. Peacefully at Lake Shore Lodge on Thursday, May 19, 2005 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Reinhold. Dear loving mother to Fred (Barbara), Edna, Ron (Brenda) and Marlyn. Loving Omie of Christopher, Lesley and Todd. Great grandmother of Alyssa, Emily, Laura and Sean. Sadly missed by her sister Poldi Wancar, niece Dina, good friend Carol MacKay and other family and friends. Suddenly on Wednesday, May 25, 2005. Ben, loving son of Louise Lemieux and Edward Paskus. Ben would have been 12 on Monday. Wiera (nee Kamenec) Linok
After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Wiera passed away on May 25, 2005. She joins her beloved husband Michael, who predeceased her in November, 2004. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Luba Linok-Kalimin, Nadia, and Michael, her sons–in-law Michael Kalimin and Pedro Pereyra, and her grandchildren; Michael, Nicholas, and Mark Kalimin, and Adrian and Alexandra Pereyra Linok. Wiera lived most of her life in Montreal; the latter two years in Toronto. Wiera was devoted to her family and church. She will forever be remembered for her generous heart and gentle ways. Her caring hands readily provided comfort, created magic in the kitchen and in the garden. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. Doris Helen Smylski (nee Puchalski)
passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Peter Smylski for 60 years. Born in Cobalt, Ontario, daughter of the late Nicholas and Vaselina Puchalski. Loving mother of Thomas, Peter (Oksana), Doris Ann (Myron Masnyk) and Nadia (Don Lawrence) and loving Baba of Anton and Tereza. Dear sister-in-law to Bernice and Walter Lemiski and Helen Smith. Loving auntie of many nieces and nephews and dearest cousin of Joan and Gerald Fedak. Mother was a kind, empathetic and gracious lady who always welcomed family and friends to the family home or to the farm in Winona (Lochside). She loved playing her piano, loved her gardens and her sewing. While in Hamilton, she taught Sunday school for many years, golfed and curled. Always supportive of her husband’s professional pursuits in Oral Surgery and volunteer activities, together they hosted numerous picnics for the Hamilton and Niagara Dental Association. In Toronto, Mom was an active volunteer at the AGO, and a long-time supporter of the Ukrainian Museum of Canada (Ontario Branch) and many other ladies organizations. She was a great wife, great mom – we’ll miss her. Special thanks to Anna Pytel and the Team 8 nurses from Care Partners for assisting mom these past few years. Peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 87. He now joins his beloved wife Lowella after 60 years of marriage. Loving and proud father to Karen, son-in-law Peter, granddaughter Sandra and partner Daryl. Predeceased by his parents, Fredrick and Marion, stepmother Gertrude, his brothers, Joseph, Fredrick and Herbert. WWII Veteran, 48th Highlanders, Nobly served our country at home. Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #101. Retired employee of Colgate Palmolive after 49 years of service. He was a kind spirit who chose only to see the good in people.
