MABLE LARSON

Mable Larson, 67, a long-time resident of McCrosson-Tovell, Ont., passed away suddenly Monday, March 23, 1998 at the Rainy River Hospital in Rainy River, Ont.
Mable was born May 19, 1930 in Edmonton, Alta.
She was a long-time member of the Lake of the Woods Women's Institute, and a member of the Lutheran Church. She was employed at various tourist camps in the area, and she also enjoyed living and working on the family farm.
Mable had several hobbies that she enjoyed doing, such as knitting and needle work that she gave to her family as a gift. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mable is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Kenneth (Bud) Larson; two daughters, Linda and husband, Doug Kreger, of Harris Hill, and Carol and husband, Alvin McClain, of Black Hawk; one son, Darrel and wife, Wanda, of Atikokan; and seven grandchildren, Stacy and Troy Kreger, Tracy and Wendy McClain, and Michelle, Bob, and Jeremy Larson.
She also is survived by one brother, Thomas Burnham and wife, Martha; two sisters, Mary Reid, and Edna Major and husband, Raymond; mother-in-law, Esmeralda; numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law; and two very special friends, Ruth Huntley and Evelyn Stang.
Mable was predeceased by her parents, Alice and Joseph Burnham; two brothers, Arthur and Joseph Burnham; one sister, Emily Stevens; infant daughter, Norma Gail; and father-in-law, Einar Larson.
Funeral services were held at the Bergland Hall on Friday, March 27, 1998 with Pastor Robert Ek officiating. Interment was at Bergland cemetery.
In memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.

DONALD CAMERON

Donald Cameron, of R.R.#1, Stratton, Ont., passed away Monday, March 30, 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; and three daughters.
Funeral arrangements are pending, and a complete obituary will follow.

HENRY THOMAS ROBINSON

Henry Thomas Robinson, 96, of Winnipeg, Man., passed away Thursday, March 26, 1998.
Henry was born July 8, 1901 in Ireland. In 1912, his parents and their family immigrated to Canada, settling in the Emo district of Ontario. During his working years, he was very dedicated to his carpentry and woodworking business.
Henry was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Mary (nee Faulkner) Robinson; four sisters, Ethel McAllister, Annie Fox, Blanche Robinson, and Lottie Morken; and three brothers, Dick, George, and Ben.
He is survived by one sister, Laura Mose of Fort Frances; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 31, 1998 at 2 p.m. at the Emo Legion Hall, with Tom Young and Bruce Waddell officiating.
Interment will be held at a later date at Emo cemetery.
Pallbearers were Terry Robinson, George Robinson, Dennis Robinson, Charlie Morken, Phil Robinson, Brent Robinson, and Darren Robinson.

CAROL (GODIN) BECK

Carol (Godin) Beck of Denver, Col. passed away suddenly on Monday, April 13, 1998. She was born in 1943.
Carol is predeceased by her parents, Margaret and George Godin.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, and their two children, Anne (Keith) Burback and their children, Holly and Westin, and Matthew, all of Denver. Also surviving are several step-children.
Carol also is survived by her siblings, Terry (Annabelle) Godin of Fort Frances, Ont., Allen (Elaine) Godin of Geraldton, Ont., Ken (Sofia) Godin of Fort Frances, Shirley (Rick) McEvoy of Fort Frances, Randy (Betty) Godin of Fort Frances, and Gary (Shari) Godin of Fort Frances; and numerous nieces and nephews and family.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 18, 1998 in Denver.
She was laid to rest at Chapel Hill cemetery in Denver.

CHARLOTTE EVELYN EASTON

Charlotte Evelyn Easton (Callan) passed away March 24, 1998 at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Ont. Charlotte was born April 28, 1918 in Rainy River, Ont.
With her passing, she leaves her son, James and wife, June, and family of Toronto, Ont.; daughter, Lynne Wark and husband, John, of Pickering, Ont.; grandson, Derek and wife, Sophie, and great-grandchildren, Daniel and Simone, of Whitby, Ont.; granddaughter, Evelyn Wark of Pickering, Ont.; sister, Jean Henriksson of Fort Frances, Ont.; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, April 1, 1998 in the Ewart Chapel at the Mount Pleasant Mausoleum. Cremation followed.

ERNEST STANLEY `STAN' GUSTAFSON

Ernest Stanley "Stan" Gustafson, beloved husband of Clarice Gustafson, of Red Deer, Alta., passed away suddenly at his home Tuesday, April 14, 1998 at the age of 71.
Besides his loving wife, Clarice, Stan is survived by his children, Gary (Jackie) of Ottawa, Ont., Jim (Kim) of Winnipeg, Man., and Dale (Joanne) and David (Brenda) of Fort Frances, Ont.; one stepson, Marty (Vikki) Gadd of Lethbridge, Alta.; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Allan and Victor of Fort Frances, Ont., and Albert of Burlington, Ont.; three sisters, Gladys Sampson of International Falls, Mn., and Helen Bodnar and Elsie Hampton of Fort Frances, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Stan was predeceased by his parents, Maria and Gustaf Gustafson.
Stan was born in Fort Frances, Ont. on May 12, 1926. He was very proud of his service in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII. He was an accountant at various firms and organizations, including Red Deer Toyota, where he retired in 1992 after 15 years of service.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 52 years. Stan celebrated and enjoyed his heritage as a member of the Red Deer Vasa Lodge #733 and also as a member of the Fanatullen Scandinavian Dancers, participating with them locally as well as in Denmark and Sweden.
Stan was an avid sportsman who enjoyed canoeing, skiing, camping, and the outdoors. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 17, 1998 at 1 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 4346-39th St., Red Deer, Alta., with Pastor William Foged officiating.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 26, 1998 at 1 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29 in Fort Frances, with Rev. Patrick Playfair (Legion chaplain) officiating.
Interment in Bergland, Ont.
If friends desire, memorial tributes may be sent directly to the charity of their choice.

MORRIS DEMETRO DERHAK

Morris Demetro Derhak passed away at Oshawa General Hospital on Monday, April 20, 1998 in his 70th year.
He was the beloved husband of Eveline Deagne; loved father of Katherine Derhak of Oshawa, William Derhak of Courtice, and Allen Derhak of Waterloo; and dear brother of Rudy Derhak of Thunder Bay.
He also is lovingly remembered by six grandchildren, Jason Derhak, Amanda, Melanie and Kaily Derhak, and Scott and Byrne Grant; and two great-grandchildren, Clayton and Tyler Shmyr.
He was predeceased by one sister, Eleanor Engelking.
He is resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King St. E., Oshawa, Ont., 433-4711, with a funeral service in the chapel on Thursday, April 23, 1998 at 11 a.m. Visitation is Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Interment in Resurrection cemetery in Whitby.
Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

JOHN CORNELIUS SEVENHOUSE

John Sevenhouse, 99, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, Fort Frances, Ont., went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 22, 1998 at his residence.
John was born July 4, 1898 in Phoenix, Ill. to the late Henry and Annie Sevenhouse. He moved to Burriss, Ont. in 1931, where he met Ruth Wilson and, on April 29, 1931, they were united in marriage. In 1937, they moved to Fort Frances, where John was employed at the local paper mill for 29 years before his retirement in 1966.
John was a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church, and served as the secretary for the church for 15 years. He enjoyed playing the accordion and organ, singing, the outdoors, gardening, reading, and especially spending time with family and friends.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Henry and Leonard; and five sisters, Jan, Clara, Mary, Martha, and Anne.
John is survived by his wife of more than 66 years, Ruth Sevenhouse, of Fort Frances, Ont.; daughter, Marlene and husband, William Fedan, of High Prairie, Alta.; grandson, Wayne Fedan and wife, Kathy, of Grande Prairie, Alta.; two granddaughters, Lori Ann Fedan of Kamloops, B.C., and Brenda and husband, Steven Dafoe, of Fort St. John, B.C.; two great-grandchildren, Darcy and Tammara Fedan of Grand Prairie, Alta.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 28, 1998 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Pastor Stephen Laing officiated, with interment in Riverview cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends visited Monday, April 27, 1998 from 7-8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Pallbearers were Don Redford, David Craven, David Woodgate, Rodney Woodgate, Allan Pattison, and Harold Herrem.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Box 444, Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3M8, or to the charity of your choice.

JERGEN ASLAK MOSLEY

Jergen Aslak Mosley, 80, of 134 Pine Cres., Atikokan, Ont., passed away Sunday, April 19, 1998 at the Atikokan General Hospital.
He was born in Fort Frances, Ont. on April 26, 1918, the eldest son of Ole and Guro Mosley. On Nov. 14, 1939, he married Phoebe Armstrong.
He served in the armed forces with the South Saskatchewan regiment in England, France, Holland, Belgium, and Germany from 1942-1946.
He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Gudrun (Nelson) Green; and infant son, Peter Armstrong Mosley, in 1962.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Phoebe Mosley, of Atikokan; daughter, Judith (Alton) Qualie of Vernon, B.C.; five sons, John (Brigitte) Mosley of Thunder Bay, Ont., Harold (Phyllis) Mosley of Windsor, Ont., Eric (Sandra) Mosley of Atikokan, Jim (Shirley) Mosley of Atikokan, and (Lorne (Darlene) Mosley of Terrace Bay, Ont.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Olaf Mosley; two sisters, Mary (Dick) Collet and Sigred Mosley, all of Fort Frances; as well as many nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and friends.
Cremation has taken place, and a family graveside service will be held with Pastor Dan Repo of Faith Lutheran Church officiating.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Atikokan General Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.
