Westmount Wheeler
It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Westmount Wheeler at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Friday September 21st, 2012 in his 83rd year.

Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory is his wife Maxine and his loving children and grandchildren.

Wes was born in Huntsville on February 4, 1930, the eldest son of parents Sam and Janet Wheeler, who predeceased him. Wes was well known in Huntsville, having spent 47 years employed by West End Motors. In his retirement years, Wes enjoyed time spent at his farm gardening and sharing his vegetable harvest with his neighbours and friends. Wes was always there for those who needed a helping hand. He enjoyed the outdoors and some of the happiest times of his life were spent up north moose hunting with his brother in law Bill. Wes loved to reminisce and share his stories with us all. We were blessed to have him in our lives.

In accordance to Wes’s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has already taken place.

Her brothers and father built many cottages and other buildings in the Muskoka area. Helga returned to her Hillside home in 1969 following the death of her husband, John Hayward and she began her career as the cook at Friendly Acres, a position that she had for close to twenty years.

Helga was a great listener. She was interested in others and she was a person who accepted others just as they are. She was an avid reader and she was interested in life as it evolved around her. Helga always saw the joys and blessings that she had in abundance. She had the gift of looking at what she was blessed with and setting aside things that were less than perfect. Helga loved without condition and she especially loved her helping angels.

Helga is survived by her six children. Peter (Marilyn Clark), Timothy (Judy), Elizabeth Forde (Bob), Ruth (Brian Burt), Stephen (Margaret Van Erve) and Michael (Gale) and her daughter-in-law Anne. Helga also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren and their partners and five great-grandchildren.

Helga lived her life well and independently. She was a special woman and will be missed by many.

Jessie was born on July 16, 1912 and had recently celebrated her 100th birthday. Her grandparents were early settlers to the Huntsville/Port Sydney area and her maternal grandfather, Henry Morgan, was a well known builder of several local churches, including the original Christ Church in Port Sydney. Her father, Reginald Rumball, started the Huntsville Dairy.

Jessie graduated as a registered nurse from Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in 1933 and spent several years providing home nursing prior to the existence of Huntsville’s first hospital. She then worked at the Red Cross Hospital for several years at the current site of Fairvern Nursing Home.

Jessiemarried Verdun Arnott Adamson on August 16, 1942. Her husband predeceased her in 1974. Arnott owned and operated the Huntsville Planing Mills Ltd. Jessie was also predeceased by son-in-law Jack Ruan and granddaughter Martha Rose Piercell.

She is survived by daughters Judith Ruan, Vaughn Adamson (Barbara Mason) and Suzanne Piercell (Michael). Also survived by grandchildren Colin and Tyler Ruan, Tara Fuerth (Jason), Katherine Berthiaume (Jay), Melissa Brohman (Jon), Emily Piercell, Samantha Piercell and step-grandchildren John , Michael, Mark Ruan (Jessica) and Kyle (Melissa) and Christopher Mason. Jessie also leaves great-grandchildren Joey, Arnie and Stella Fuerth, Jack, Mary and Ceci Berthiaume, Oliver Brohman and Rachael, Peter and Amy Ruan.

Always a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother – she will be missed.
