J. Elliott Glass
Suddenly as the result of a tragic accident, was taken to be with his Lord, on Friday January 14, 2011 at 34 years of age. Beloved son of John and Bonnie and treasured brother of Adriana MacLennan (Rod) and Sarah Perkin (David). Uncle of Olivia Perkin and Evangeline MacLennan. Jesus said "In this world you will have trouble but fear not, I have overcome this world".

Our hearts are broken but we will see you again.

Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave., Georgetown, (905) 877-3631 on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Memorial service will be held at the Georgetown Alliance Church, 290 Main St., S. Georgetown, on Wednesday January 19, 2011 at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place.

In memory contributions to the 12 step Celebrate Recovery Program at the Georgetown Alliance Church or the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health would be appreciated.

Sandra Greig
Peacefully in her sleep on Monday December 26th, 2005 at her home in Georgetown following a fight with ALS "Lou Gerhigs Disease". Sandra (nee Sproule), in her 65th year, loving mother of Whitney and her husband Duncan Sanders and Devon and her husband Terry Beauchamp. Proud grandmother of Justin, Carleigh, Erin and Adrienne. Dear sister of Wayne (Barb), Judy (Bill), Glen (Marie), Ken (Sandy), Grant, Ross, Barry (Lori) and Mark (Elaine). Predeceased by her brother Ron Sproule. Special thanks to Dr. Turnbull and his team, Dr. Ting, CCAC and all their support staff. Friends will be received at the J.S. Kenneth Weir "Ken" Reid
Reid, Kenneth Weir "Ken"- Peacefully in the presence of his family, on Wednesday January 26th, 2011 at his home in Georgetown. Ken, in his 82nd year, beloved husband of Lois for 53 years. Loving father of Cindy Phillips, Carol Reid (Shane Savard) and Diane Stoltz (Marlin). Proud grandpa of Jason and Krista Phillips and Andrew Stoltz. Dear brother of Mary Garbutt, James, Gordon, Joanne Stevenson and the late John (Myrtle). Ken will be sadly missed by his large family and many friends.

Douglas William Rock M.B.
Born April 13th, 1953 in Brantford, Ontario to John and Margaret Joyce Rock (nee Sterne) deceased. Died June 19th, 2006 surrounded by loving family members after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. Beloved husband of Emma (nee Kelly) and father of Rebecca and Lauren, he will be missed by family and friends including; brothers Peter (Judi) and Andrew as well as Nephews and Nieces David, Melanie, Rachel, Stuart & Carolyn. His family in the U.K. grieve at this time also. Educated in Brampton schools he graduated from Centennial College with a Degree of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and worked with Aircraft across Canada and around the world ending his career in Maintenance Control for Skyservice - he will be missed for his hard work and team spirit. Douglas was awarded the Medal of Bravery by the Governor General for his part in preventing the crash of a disabled helicopter and saving the life of the pilot. His life was enriched by the friendship of many close friends with whom he shared his love of boats and cottaging, and the generosity of his time, energy and considerable skills. Douglas spent many hours donating his time to others; including Skiing for disabled children, packing toys for the underprivileged and many other charitable organizations. We are all better people for having known him.

Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, North of Maple Avenue, Georgetown, 905-877-3631 on Friday, June 23rd, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held at Union Presbyterian Church, the corner of Old School Road and Winston Churchill Blvd. On Saturday, June 24th, 2006 at 11:00 am. Interment at Union Presbyterian Church cemetery following the service. Refreshments to be served at the church.

If desired, a charitable donation to Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills would be appreciated.

Muriel Stubbs (nee Carrick),
Peacefully on Tuesday September 12th, 2006 at the Peel Manor, Brampton. Muriel, in her 85th year, beloved wife of Grant Stubbs for the past 66 years. Loving mother of Bryan (Evelyn), Lynn (Tess), Eloise Vanderzwan, Elaine Dillon (Andrew), Julie Inman (Mark) and Anthea Allaby (Jeff). Proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Phyllis, Dorothy, Doreen and Maureen. Predeceased by her sister Ivy and by her brother Jack.

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 90 McLaughlin Rd. S., Brampton, on Saturday September 16th at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers contributions to Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, P.O. Box 4100, Georgetown, Ontario, L7G 4Y4.

Elizabeth Walsma (nee Rosema)
passed away peacefully, at the Holland Christian Homes on Monday January 11th, 2010, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late John Jakob Walsma. Loving mother of William (Dale) and Hank (Mary). Loved grandmother of Lana (Derek), Julie (Andrew), Lisa (Mark), Terri-Anne (Chuck) and John and 7 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Ina Vandermey (Osterloo) and the late Hein Rosema. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Ali Rosema.

A private family graveside service was held at Brampton Memorial Gardens.

Dennis White
White, Dennis James Frederick - passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 2nd, 2016 at the University Hospital in London. Dennis in his 72nd year, was the beloved husband of Carol Ann and the late Bonnie Lee Humphries. Predeceased by his parents Donald and Zeita (nee Mason). Dear brother of Don and his wife Lee. Loving father of Damon and his wife Janna, Robert, Susan and her husband Scott Thompson and David. Dennis will be fondly remembered by Damon's mother Nancy Kelly. Cherished grandfather of Dalton and Dylan. Dennis will be sadly missed by his cousins Walter Mason and his wife Ruth, Diane Mason, Carol and her husband Rick Noels, niece Heather, nephews Donny and Jimmy, brother in law Harry Whitehead and his wife Cheryl and all of their families.

Dennis was a longtime member of multiple organizations including Scouts Canada and The Kiwanis Club in Georgetown and was the secretary for the Rotary Club in Wiarton. His true passion was to be a writer and did realize this dream when he successfully self-published four novels that had a dedicated fan base and sold over 6000 copies in the Grey Bruce region.

A celebration of Dennis Life will be held at the J.S. Jones and Son Funeral Home on Saturday April 16th, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. In memory contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's foundation would be appreciated.

Russel Armstrong
Armstrong, Russel David- Peacefully, on Friday March 11, 2016 at the Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga. Russel, in his 77th year, beloved husband of Janet (nee Jackson) for 53 years. Loving father of Mark (Sue), Martha (Scott Young), Peter (Lijia Zhang), Rebecca (Glenn Round) and Matthew (Siobhan Sutherland). Loved grandfather of Alexandra, Ben, Winston, Steven, Jonathan, Andrew, Chloe, Kieran and Anna. Dear brother of Gordon (Trudy). Friends will be received at the J.S. Alice Brand
BRAND, Alice (nee Popma)
April 22, 1941 - July 7, 2016

At home in Georgetown with her daughter, sisters and husband by her side.

Born in Holland, Alice spent her early years in Indonesia with her family. She returned to study nursing in Delft and immigrated to Canada to join her family in Victoria.

Alice spent many of her nursing years providing public health care to remote communities in Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. Her final years were serving the employees in the community at Pearson International Airport on behalf of Health Canada.

"Bumma", will be sorely missed by her grandchildren Colton & Macey, her daughter Annelies and Gary her husband.

Friends will be received on Saturday, July 16, 2016 between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. at J.S. Jones and Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown. A celebration of Alice's life is planned for the near future. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Cancer Assistance Services Halton Hills (CASHH).

Schirm, Baerbel- Suddenly on Monday July 11th, 2016 at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga. Barbara, in her 77th year, beloved wife of Horst Schirm. Loving mother of Stephanie Schirm, Chris and his wife Dee Schirm and Andreas and his wife Kerry Schirm. Proud Oma to Zachary, Nicholas, Emma and Mason. Riet Schenk
Celebrating and Remembering Riet Schenk

Born in Rijssen, Holland – May 16, 1931

Passed in Georgetown, ON Canada – July 7, 2016

In her 86th year, Hendrika Pietertje Schenk (nee Struijk) passed away peacefully at the Georgetown Hospital to join her Heavenly Father. She will be greatly missed by her husband & best friend Tom Schenk as well as her children: Diane and John Leferink, Irene and Berny Menken, John and Shawna Schenk, Harry and Allison Schenk and Debbie and Jim Kortleve. She will be grieved by her 22 grandchildren, her 23.5 great grandchildren, her sister, brothers, sisters in law and brothers in law. Finally, Riet’s passing will be greatly felt by her friends, neighbors and her church family.

Riet was born May 16th, 1931 in Rijssen, Holland. She was the 3rd child (of 11) born to Arie and Egberdina Nijland Struijk. In 1949, the Struijk family boarded a plane and immigrated to Canada. After a short stay in the Holland Marsh, they moved to Cochrane, Ontario where Riet met the love of her life, Tamme Schenk. Theymarried on May 21st, 1954 and over the next 9 years they grew a family of five children - 3 daughters and 2 sons. Riet was happy to settle in Georgetown and only moved 4 times over 62 years of marriage with Tom.

She loved her community and diligently volunteered her time to the Red Cross, her church community and the Progressive Conservative Party. She was a daughter, a sister, a sister in law, a wife, a mother, an Oma, an Oma Oma, a friend, an employer, an employee and a child of God. She loved her earthly life very much, but yearned for everlasting life with Christ.

In an envelope marked “Funeral,” she left us the following message written on a little scrap piece of ripped paper: “The Lord is my light and salvation…whom shall I fear – [Psalm] 27” (Riet).”

Friends will be received at the Georgetown Christian Reformed Church, 11611 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Riet's life will take place at the Church on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Red Cross of Canada or Georgetown Hospital - Complex Continuing Care would be greatly appreciated.

Ethel Schenk
SCHENK, Ethel Charline (nee Wood)

It is with great sadness that we share news of the passing of our mother Ethel Schenk on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Allendale Long Term Care Home in Milton at age 94. Wife of the late Harold Schenk and mother of Jane Arone (Greg) and James Schenk. Loving grandmother of Julie, Justin, Melissa, and Rebecca.

Ethel will be remembered for her love of life, unique laugh and infectious smile that made everyone love her. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15th from 7-9 p.m. and a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 16th at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road (North of Maple Ave.) Georgetown, at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

K. Denise Edwards
Edwards, Kathleen Denise - After a long and courageous battle with health issues, Kathleen (Neen) Denise Edwards (nee Day) passed away at age 58 on Sunday, July 10, 2016 in Glen Williams, Ontario with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband John (Coach) and her children Mathew (Jennifer), Kara (David), Mitchell, beloved grandchildren Benjamin and Emily and family dog, Bo.

Denise will be dearly missed by her sister, Dorothy (Dot) wife of the late Glen Blackburn. She leaves behind her brother Victor (Butch) Day and many family members in the Chatham-Kent, St. Thomas and London areas. Her passion, spirit and laughter will be forever celebrated by friends, neighbors and her chosen family in Glen Williams and area. Denise will always be fondly remembered for her legendary Canada Day celebrations, the open door policy to her home, long chats over cups of tea and her culinary prowess.

Denise's many contributions to the community include; the creation of the Halton Hills Association of Synchronized Swimmers, founding member of the Georgetown Newcomers Association, fundraising champion for Halton Womans Place, Canadian Cancer Society and the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills. Denise will forever be remembered as everyone's number 1 cheerleader. She truly believed in each individuals potential and celebrated the successes of her children and strangers alike.

Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905)877-3631 on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral and committal service will be held in the chapel on Thursday July 14th at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. Memorial contributions to the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills, Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Melanoma Foundation would be appreciated.
