Anne was the loving mother of Dianne Thomson and Rosemary Fillmore and her husband Bill, and the proud and caring “Nan“ of Stephen and Sadie Thomson and Marisue and Tim James. She cherished her five great- grandsons, Jordon, Shayne and Cole Thomson, and Tate and Landen James. Anne was predeceased in 1992 by her husband of 52 years Frank J. DeStefano. Blessed with a lovely soprano voice, she became a chorister and soloist at St. Rita's Church and at The Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption where she delighted guests at many weddings and celebrations with her vocal selections. As a bride in 1940 she moved to Sudbury and joined the Elgar Singers, and later at the invitation of Monsignor Humphrey, became a founding member and soloist of the choir of the Church of Christ the King. For many years she was active in Church and community organizations, serving as president of the home and school association and president of the Catholic Women's League at Christ the King where she was a parishioner for over 60 years. As a young mother Anne encouraged her two daughters in their studies and musical pursuits, and enjoyed entertaining and especially baking for her family and friends. She was always interested in and supportive of the activities of her grandchildren and their families. Anne enjoyed a good game of bridge and the many friends she played with over the years. As well she and Frank spent several winters at their home in Meadowwood Farms near Ocala, Florida. Anne had a positive outlook on life and during her final years considered every day a gift which she made the most of. She appreciated so much the wonderful care of the staffs of St Joseph's Villa, For Seniors Only and Circle of Care. We will miss her loving presence in our lives but will remember her always with deep love in our hearts.
