Lois E. (Clackett) (nee Barclay) French

FRENCH, Lois E. (Clackett) (nee Barclay) - A resident of Chatham and formerly of Dover Twp. Lois French passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance- Chatham Campus on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the age of 85. Born in Chatham daughter of the late Hiram and Sarah (Echlin) Barclay. Loving wife of the late Verdun F. Clackett (1993) and the late Edward M. French (1997). Dear mother to Bev and Karen Clackett of Grand Bend, Bonnie and Wayne O'Sullivan of Chatham. Step-mother to Barbara and Phil Thibodeau of Pointe Verte, New Brunswick. Grandmother to Debbie and Michael Meuwissen, Anette Cowan, Michael O'Sullivan, Sean O'Sullivan. Step- grandmother to Celeste Thibodeau, Shannon and Adam Bonnycastle, Sheila Thibodeau, Chantelle and Dr. Michael MacDonald. Predeceased by her brothers Ronald Barclay, Keith Barclay and Douglas Barclay. Lois was an active member of St. Paul's Congregational Church in Chatham as well as a member of the CCW at the church. She was a former member of the Maple City Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and volunteered at the former Thamesview Lodge. Visiting at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Family and friends are asked to gather on Saturday June 20, 2009 at St. Paul's Congregational Church, 450 Park Ave. W. from 12:30 p.m. until the Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Andrew Hawkins officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Memorial donations to honour Lois's life can be made to St. Paul's Congregational Church or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.

James Reginald (Jim) Irwin

IRWIN, James Reginald (Jim) - on Thursday June 18th, 2009, at the Kingston General Hospital, after a long and gallant battle with heart disease, caused by rheumatic fever. Jim was born on April 21st, 1944 in Belleville. Beloved son of the late Gordon and Marjorie (nee Steenburgh) Irwin. Jim will be dearly missed by his loving daughters, Karen of Frankford, and Kathy (Kevin) of Trenton. Much loved Papa of Katelynn. Dear brother of Gord (Pat) Irwin of Grafton, Jack (Laurel) Irwin of Belleville, David (Demaris) Irwin of Crystal Beach, Cliff (Lynn) Irwin of Stirling, and Linda Baker (Fred Trautrimas) of Belleville. Jim will be sadly missed by his several nieces and nephews. Jim worked for Bell Canada, managed the Belleville Muntz Centre on Cannifton Road, and worked for Proctor & Gamble for many years. A special thanks to his nephew Ron Irwin who visited many times and was so kind, many good friends from Proctor & Gamble, Altair Electronics, and many others. Cremation has taken place. Following cremation, Jim will be interred with his late parents at the Belleville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. Another “Border Reiver“ has made his last raid. May he rest in Peace. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Jim's life at the River Inn, Corbyville, on Monday June 22nd, at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Arrangements in the care of QUINTE CREMATION AND BURIAL SERVICES LTD.

Joseph “Gerry“ Gallagher

GALLAGHER, Joseph “Gerry“ - Joe peacefully passed away without an enemy in the world, Thursday, June 24, 2009 at the age of 73 years. Son of the late Fyland and of the late Jeanette (née Lavallée) Gallagher. Beloved husband of Jeannette Gallagher (née Leblanc) of Chelmsford. Loving father of Heather Plumber of Cambridge, Mark Leybourne, Greg Leybourne (Tracy), Chris Leybourne and Glenn Leybourne (Oanh) all of Toronto. Dear brother of Theresa Lefebvre (John) of Dowling and Sharon Gallagher (Neil Barron) of Britt. Predeceased by his brothers George (late Joan) and Francis. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Gregory, Steven, Jessie, Chris, Bonnie, Dallas, Matthew, Brittany and his 8 great- grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by his many relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the CO- OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691, R.R. 15, CHELMSFORD, Friday from 2-5 and 7- 9:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel, Chelmsford. Donations (by cheque only) to Jeannette Gallagher would be appreciated.

Helga (nee Zumbro) Ullmer

ULLMER, Helga (nee Zumbro) - passed away with her loving daughter by her side on Sunday, June 21st, 2009 at Heidehof Home for the Aged at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late William. Cherished mother of Doris (Witold) Felsch. Loving grandmother of Joe (Sylvia Clubb) and Cindy (Phil) Downey. Special Omi of Seth, Brooke, Kathleen, Lauren and Shannon. She will be missed by John Ullmer, Muriel Ullmer, Steve and Irma Fung and Elvira and Len Wallace. Helga is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street. The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at Grace Lutheran Church on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to Grace Lutheran Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Eileen Edith Effie Phillips

PHILLIPS, Eileen Edith Effie - passed away with her daughter by her side at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, June 24, 2009. Eileen (nee Finnegan), in her 69th year, was the beloved wife of Elmer Phillips for 50 years. Loving mother of Lenard, Linda and Dave Caulfield, and Lori and Dwayne Fretz. Predeceased by her son Leslie and sister Edna. Cherished grandma of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear sister of Charlie and Joyce, Rhoda Langton, Thressa, Helen, Nancy and Joyce-Lee. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation at the MACKEY FUNERAL HOME, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay (705-328-2721) on Monday, June 29th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a service to celebrate Eileen's life at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lifford. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Salvation Army would be appreciated. CRUICKSHANK, Alex Bud - passed away at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener on June 24, 2009 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 55 years to Maxene (nee Kerr). Loving father of devoted daughter, Deborah (Deb) Cruickshank. Dear brother of Joan and her husband Doug Blackman of Owen Sound and Edna and her husband Gordon Farrow of London. Fun-loving “Unc“ to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Burnie and Pansy Cruickshank, his brothers, Doug and Morris and his sister Berenice McVittie. Bud was formerly and active member of the K-W Granite Curling Club. He also was a past member of Rockway Golf Club and the K-W Lions Club. Bud's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on June 26, 2009 from 11:45-12:45 pm with his funeral service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1 pm. Judy A. Wilson

WILSON, Judy A. - Peacefully at St. Mary's of the Lake on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in her 66th year. Beloved daughter of Paul McKegney. Predeceased by her mother Mary with whom Judy is now embracing. Judy will be remembered fondly by immediate family members; brother Paul (Hazel), nephews John (Angela) and Michael, great niece Hazel along with many other relatives and friends. Jack, Daniel and Toulouse, her best friends and loyal caregivers, will forever miss their soul mate. Thanks are extended to the staff at SE Regional Cancer centre, SE Community Care Access Centre, and St. Mary's palliative care team. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 2 pm. with a reception to follow in the James Reid Reception Centre. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations could be made to either Ronald McDonald House Children Charities or the Kingston Humane Society. (Donations by cheque only please)
