Mrs. Marlene (nee Milligan) Bailey

BAILEY, Mrs. Marlene (nee Milligan) - At Riverview Manor on Saturday, June 20, 2009 in her 77th year. Beloved wife of the late Henry “Hank“ Bailey. Loving mother of Lynda Kent (Rick), George, Edward (Lynda), Carolyn MacLennan (Hugh), Wayne (Carol), Dorothy Bushman (Bob), Tom (Michelle), Debbie Bailey (Tom Bolton) and Mike (Carollee). Cherished granny of 18 and great granny of 8 and great great granny of 1. Dear sister of John Milligan (Lorraine), Wayne Milligan (Judy) and Susan Nichols (Paul). Predeceased by her brother Ted Milligan and her sister Nancy Wager. Dear sister-in-law of Mary Milligan. Friends will be received at the NISBETT FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 600 Monaghan Rd., S., Peterborough on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to Celebrate Marlene's Life will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Nisbett Chapel. Interment to follow Highland Park Cemetery. Reception Nisbett Reception Centre. In memory of Marlene donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Diane Daigle

DAIGLE, Diane - The family announces, with deepest sorrow, Diane's passing away in Sudbury on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the age of 55 years. Dear daughter of Fernand Daigle of Sudbury and of the late Pierrette Daigle (née Goulet). Beloved wife of Daniel Sweeney of Sudbury. Loving mother of Jennifer St-Amour (Jean-Paul) of Waterdown, ON, Shannon Sweeney (Shawn Dollar) of Sudbury and Jonathan Sweeney (Lisa Guido) of Ottawa. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Isaac St-Amour, Jacob St- Amour, Jordyn Dollar and Austin Dollar. Predeceased by her brother Jacques “Coco“ Daigle. Lovingly remembered by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and many relatives from across Canada. A Bachelor of Arts graduate, Diane worked 35 years at Laurentian University in the Commerce department and was quite proud of her recent appointment to the Department of Physical Plant and Planning as administrative assistant. Her family is most proud to announce that she was recently a recipient of the Presidential Advisory on the Status of Women Award. Diane was, above all, a devoted wife as well as an extremely proud mother and grandmother. Her good character and the kindness of her heart won the affection of her loving family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was a woman of strong faith, belonging to several local spiritual groups who will be remembered for her strong convictions and having been a staunch supporter of women's rights. Diane was a board member of many local committees: the Sudbury Business & Professional Women, the Presidential Advisory Committee on the Status of Women and the Sudbury Women's Center. She also represented women on the Sudbury-Manitoulin Training Adjustment Board. The family expresses its heartfelt thanks to Father Joe from Holy Redeemer Church and Marie Bouclin for their spiritual support and guidance. The family will receive relatives and friends at the CO- OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. in Holy Redeemer Church, Sudbury. Donations (by cheque only) to the Sudbury Women's Center or the Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated.

Bruce Milton Brown

BROWN, Bruce Milton - passed away peacefully in Oshawa on Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 in his 90th year. Devoted and beloved husband of Elsie; lovingly remembered by sons Bruce (Marilyn) and Barry (Alison) and by grandchildren Matthew and Lindsay. Bruce served with the Royal Canadian Navy in WWII and was a longstanding member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, the Rorab Shrine Club and the Rameses Temple. A gathering will be held in Bruce's honour at the Rorab Shrine Club (1260 Brookes Street, North Bay) on Saturday, July 4th from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation through the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, ON L1J 2L4 (905- 721-1234)

Mona May (nee Wright) Louth

LOUTH, Mona May (nee Wright) - At Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Thursday, June 18, 2009 in her 77th year. Beloved wife of William John Louth. Dear mother of Larry Wright, Brian Burt, Dianna Lazarus and the late Stephen Ford (2006). Mona was a loving grandmother and had several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. In keeping with Mona's wishes a private family service will be held followed by cremation. Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by Mona's family. Arrangements entrusted to COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street.

Margaret ‘Berna' (nee Stoner) White

WHITE, Margaret ‘Berna' (nee Stoner) - Berna White of RR#1 Arva, formerly of Sarnia and Oxtongue Lake passed away suddenly at Watford Quality Care on Wednesday, June 17th, 2009. She was in her 89th year. Predeceased by her husband Cecil (2005). She will be missed by her daughter Bonnie and son-in-law Peter Furby. Survived by her sister Rene (Maynard) Walker, brother Keith (Pam) Stoner, brother-in-law Floyd, sister-in-law Mildred White, and remembered by many nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received by the family one hour prior to the memorial service being conducted at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, July 4th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment of cremated remains at a later date. If desired, as an expression of sympathy please consider the Watford Quality Care-Residents Council - 344 Victoria Street, Watford, ON N0M 2S0.

DOBSON, Ingrid Lempi - In loving memory of Ingrid Lempi Dobson (nee Holpainen), 82 years, who passed away Thursday, afternoon, June 18th, 2009 at the Extendicare Falconbridge, Sudbury. Beloved wife of the late Stan Dobson (predeceased 1986). Dear daughter of the late John Holpainen and the late Lempi Holpainen Maenpaa (Komppa). Predeceased by her Step-Dad Eino Maenpaa and step-son Stanley Dobson Jr. (wife Eydie). Always remembered by Eydie Dobson and family, David (Monica), Brent (LeeAnne), Bruce (Era) and Bryan (JoAnna) and great grandchildren Erin Lee, Erica Anne, Brenna Maureen, Owen Stanley and Ethan Ryszard. Predeceased by longtime devoted friend Peter Jaru. Fondly remembered by close friends Linda Dailey and Angie Zambelli of Sudbury and Olga Quesnelle of Mississauga. Ingrid treasured all friendships developed over the years. She was proud of her Canadian Finnish heritage. Born in Levack, residing in the Sudbury area throughout her lifetime. In earlier times, the camp on Lake Penage was a favourite summer place for Ingrid and her husband and family. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St., at Hazel St. Saturday, June 20th, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Interment at the Park Lawn Cemetery. Donations to Sudbury Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. (Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday and after 10:30 a.m. Saturday).

Timothy Dale “Tim“ Byford

BYFORD, Timothy Dale “Tim“ - In his 45th year at the Kingston General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his cherished wife and sons on Friday June 19, 2009. Tim Byford loving husband of Angie Heaney. Devoted father of Matthew and Adam. Loving brother of Anita Dickson (Ernie), Linda Beaupre (Alf), Joanne Charboneau (Brian), Faye Dennis, Susan Condy (Joe), Donna Gibbs, Kathryn Byford (Rob), Tammy Berry (Keith), Jim (Tina), Jack (Shirley), Joe, Donnie (Elizabeth) and David (Barb). Dearest son in law of Ardella Heaney, survived by brother in law Randy. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Tim is predeceased by his parents Art and Anne Byford, 1 sister Elaine Watson (Glen) and by his Father in law Leo Heaney. The family will receive friends at the TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOME 63 Garden St. Gananoque on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church on Tuesday June 23 at 11:30am. Interment St. John's cemetery. Parish prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday afternoon at 1:45pm. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the UHKF (KGH ICU) or to a trust fund for Tim's sons Matthew and Adam would be appreciated by the family.

GRIFFIN, Armor - Peacefully with his family by his side, at his residence Lansdowne on Friday June 20, 2009. Armor John Griffin age 61 years, beloved husband of June (LaRose) Griffin. Dear dad of Michelle Denton (Gregory) and Kevin Griffin (Christine) all of Lansdowne. Loving papa of Mikayla, Jade, Kaleb and Olivia. Dear son of June (Payea) Griffin and the late Aubrey Griffin. Brother of Robert Griffin (Joan) of Port Dover, Wayne Griffin (Linda) of Gananoque, Gary Griffin of Toronto, Karen Woodley (Peter) of Gananoque and Tracy Smith (Jeffrey) of Lansdowne. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Ellard Griffin of Gananoque. Family and friends may call at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 1033 Prince St. Lansdowne on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday June 25, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery. Ruth “Chick” Turner

TURNER, Ruth “Chick” - After a courageous struggle, Ruth “Chick” (Liston) Turner passed peacefully away on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at University Hospital, London. Loving “Sweetie” of Donald West of Hampton, Virginia. Devoted mother of Shelley McColl (Wilbert Logan) and the late Patrick Liston (2005). Predeceased by her loving husband John Turner (2003), brothers Donald Clarke (2002) and Jim Clarke of Calgary (1991). Ruth is survived by her sister Lois Goudie and brother John Clarke (Faye) of Calgary. Nanny will be missed by her grandchildren Quentin (Stephanie), Dayna (Matt) and her great grandchildren Lily, Dylan, Kiana and Preston. Also remembered by her cousins Carol (Ray), Roger (Carol), many nephews and nieces in Kingston, Calgary and Vancouver and her lifelong best friend Terri Dobbs. Ruth was a long time employee of Simpson's and The Bay. The funeral service will be conducted at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of “Chick” are asked to consider the LHSF - The Look Good Feel Better Program.
